  1. It's funny that this vid got posted today, as I just ran into it while watching random vids on youtube yesterday.
  2. Those rolling gaps were sick, bro! I liked the vid... thanks for posting it. you should think about learning to side up to the other side, though
  3. Honestly, if God rode trials, he would be jealous of TRA!
  4. Crazy place! Is that a trials park, or is it just a spot that should be? Nice vid... looked like fun. Luke, how long have you been riding?
  5. That last line was mad! Great riding!
  6. This may seem a bit elementary to everyone, but there isn't even a bike shop around where I live. My girlfriend rides a python, but she prefers the bars on my 221ti. This is not necessarily because of their shape, but rather because of their height. Because girls have a different center of mass, I have to take her word that it makes a huge difference for her. What can I do, aside from buying a new stem and bars, to get them raised? Thanks, everyone!
  7. As I have said in an earlier topic, my pedals broke, but all else is fine. Really, if I had known to take the bolts out of the pedals and lock-tight them in place, I think it would still be pristine! They may not be perfect, but they are as close as you can get!
  8. Like I've said before, I love to see clips of people who are not cls yet! Thanks for posting... I'll be looking forward to seeing your progress!!
  9. That bike looks sick! Great riding, too. Honestly, I didn't expect the riding to be so strong. Awesome job! What kind of bike is that? I was watching in the coffee shop, so I had the sound off... music would have added a lot.
  10. The a3 looks pretty sharp, but, in all honesty, my housemate has one and I don't think it feels that great. I've never ridden a GU, however. 221ti is the way to go
  11. I started by holding both brakes and trying to rock onto my front wheel and then use the falling momentum to get on my back wheel... because I couldn't pedal up to back wheel. I would hold my back brake and try to bounce. The best thing I did, though, was to start releasing the brake and kicking just a tiny bit for just a tiny second each time that I would hop. Now, I wasn't trying to go forward at all, but rather using the torque of the crank to boost me up. A day or so later.... I was hopping forward and it took much less energy than bouncing in place with both brakes held. Good luck. I assure you that it is worth the time!
  12. I have a bit of an advantage, in that I had the money to get a 221ti. I know it may not have been a responsible decision to buy an expensive bike when I didn't even know if I would like it or not, but, hey, I could... so I did. I am very happy about it, too. I like to post in new member chat because more people can see and respond. Another reason would be concerning the topic... I just figured that people who had been riding for a long time would not really care about getting up 4 pallets
  13. Thanks for all of the input everyone. I ordered some try-all cages, but they were out, so I have ordered some platforms until I can decide what to do next.
  14. I have been riding for almost 6 weeks... total noob. However, I have had a fruitful week and would like to share my accomplishments in the only place that anyone cares... here on the forum. Anyway, I side hopped 5 pallets, though I can only do 4 with consistency. I gapped just over 5 feet from pallet to pallet... almost a bike length:-) My biggest drop is only 4.5 feet or so (it just hurts my blisters so much to drop). Today was the best, though, with a pedal up 4 pallets to back wheel clean 10+ times in a row! For the last week, I have been determined to pedal up anything... but kept kicking the bike out in front of me and planting flat on my back. Honestly, I feel that my helmet has saved me at least 3 times from real damage! Perhaps even better than that, however, is the fact that my blisters have all finally become caluses and I can now ride without cringing every time I pull back. I love my bike. It seems to give me a release from worrying about school all of the time. I am not saying that school is becoming less important.... nevermind, my topic is wandering! Thanks for reading, as anyone merely viewing this topic will make me feel like someone besides me cares!

    My New Vid

Dude.... you're a monster! Great riding!
  16. There is just something wrong with my positioning, and I know that time will fix it, but about half the time I try to pedal up something, my bike just flies out from underneath me. The biggest problem is that since I know that is going to happen so often, I get scared before I pedal up even something small! Is this a common step in the learning process? Did anyone else have this issue?
  17. That's cool! I looked on my lever and didn't see the same valve that my mate's Magura has. Are there multiple dot numbers or is dot fluid just dot fluid?
  18. I need to bleed my Hope rear disc. I have searched the forum, but there is so much about bleeding maggies that I get lost in the comments. What fluid should I use, and will I be able to use the same bleed kit that my housemate uses on his Magura? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, all.
  19. I give it 4 stars.... you're a bad ass!
  20. I have an 07 221ti. Now, as much as I love that bike, I must confess that my pedals suck! I am so angry. The bolts just won't stay in them. They keep falling apart, and then I have to spend 10min looking for where the bolts fell out. I have even used some liquid bolt lock, but they are so short that there isn't enough to grab. I ended up taking out all the spacers so that I could crank them down and deal with crooked pedals until my new ones arrive. Try-alls.... the only way to go! Has anyone else had this difficulty with these pedals, or is mine just a bad set!
  21. I know they deserve props for their efforts and riding accomplishments... and I can not do what they do... but I can only be impressed through about 1 minute of hang fives before I get bored. Sadly, I didn't think the vid was that cool.
