  1. Decided to split my bike, so the wheels are going first: 1st gen Shamal wheelset, recently serviced and runnign absolutely perfectly. Brake wear on the rim is extremely light, as these wheels have only ever been used on a TT bike. The wheels come with brand new (never ridden on!) continental sprinter 22mm tubs, and prolite valve extenders (which cost £70) Also comes with a campagnolo record 8 speed aluminium cassette, with virtually no wear (which cost £160 new) I'm asking £250ono for the complete wheelset, and I can deliver anywhere in zone1 at any time on Sunday. Cash on collection. Please excuse the dirt on the sensor of my camera, and the fingerprints on the rims. I'll clean them before delivery!
  2. Without meaning to sound obtuse: you're acute girl.
  3. If you're buiulding your own, they both cost about the same... Cherubs are definitely a buzz downwind, but they aren't as quick as they feel. 14s are where it's at.
  4. Intnational14 > Cherub.
  5. Oh wow matt! very nice. And as this thread is near the top: I'm going to Holland on Tuesday to do the X35 Europeans.

    Brakes.

I'm rocking the brembos on my 1litre automatic micra. makes it so much faster at slowing down.
  7. People on the internet are over-opinionated, in my opinion. I think it's cool and they should use it to bring dinosaurs back to life!11!!!!1!one!!1!!
  8. Not a fair comparison. Everybody should wear a helmet, while riding on the road. However, it should be common sense, not something you're forced to do. This is what's holding the human race back: It's no longer survival of the fittest, health and safety law is keeping the idiots alive.
  9. Tubs or clinchers? I've bought 650c tubs from SJS cycles before, and the service was brilliant. I'm sure they do clinchers too. In related news: Does anyone know where I can buy 520c clinchers? (not been made since the early 90s, but apparently there is some new old stock somewhere)
  10. You want to be aiming for somewhere between 90 and 100 gear inches, I reckon. Look at sugino 75s or something. Really sound cranks, can pick them up for peanuts second hand. However, if you want the integrated BB ones, I had a set of FSA jobbies on my TT bike which were reduced to about £60 inc BB on chainreaction. My superlite is almost done: full campagnolo chorus groupset (with record headset), first generation shamal wheels with continental 22mm sprinter tubs, NOS cinelli 66 bars, NOS cinelli 101 stem, colnago precisa forks. Just need to get a tab welded on the frame for the front mech, then get some cables for the brakes/gears. Going to be the most pimpin' roadbike ever built!
  11. Yeah, it's a geared racing frame. You won't find a modern frame nicer to ride than that. I promise. Steel frames still give the best ride available on the road. No question.
  12. Buy this right now. Don't ask questions, just listen to me. It's a lovely frame, it's a crazy-good price, and it should fit you perfectly. I'll call 'dibs' on it if you want it, and you have the cash ready? edit: I forgot the link: http://www.lfgss.com/thread42744.html#post1378486
  13. I am. Probably will be for the next year. Just finishing off a new road bike build at the moment, and I've got the fixed LoPro, so we should definetly hit up some asphalt when it's done. Come to think of it, you might be better on a 56 cm because you have pretty long legs. Have a test ride on a couple, and see what feels right.
  14. Whoop! I just won a pair of 16spoke campag shamals with an 8 speed aluminium cassette for £160! They're going straight on my superlite
  15. I know it's a bit off topic, but I think there should be some kind of test to determine whether or not people are intelligent enough to be allowed to vote. There are a lot of idiots, who really have no idea what they're talking about contaminating the results.
  16. What is it, Sav? Just bought a giant peleton superlite frameset, and have a full campag record groupset lined up for it, and a pair of shamals on super records. edit: I can now see, it's a flyer. Not bad!
