  1. This is a video by Desmond Lee actually, Brian Hong has a part riding in the movie though. Incredibly interesting movie though. Gives the story of how our sport started. This thing is years in the making and if I see it put up on the net I'm gonna f**k people up.

The trialsin shop tells me that ALL echo/zoo/gu/adamant/deng stock bikes will have 116mm (mod) spacing. So every stock bike coming from deng will only accept a mod hub. So no kinds, profiles, hopes and throw away any hub you have on your stock bike right now, unless... EVERYONE WHO THINKS ITS A GAY IDEA EMAILS HIM AND TELLS HIM SO
  5. Ok, The show isn't made for trials riders, its not a show about trials, its not trying to appeal to trials riders. Do you know how hard its been for drop-in to produce a show that would get picked up networks around the world? No network exec is going to say "hey the 15 trials riders of the world are mad that shawn isn't a world champion so we should give him the boot and put a euro on there who can't speak english and won't bring any personality to the show but will do lines that other trials riders will say are cool." This is a free ride show. they are creating a show that appeals to their target market, Shawn is a great guy and one of the most popular riders on the show. And who thinks he is popular? The freeriders!! also known as the people who actually matter to the producers of the show. If you want to produce a trials show, then go find a network who will pick it up. I'm sure that will work and then you can all say how wonderful it is. is shawn the ultimate trials rider? no. But for the most part free riders don't care. they want to see more of the street style riding and they don't want someone who is boring. Try and think to yourself, hey there is a show on tv that airs in multiple countries that features something other than road riding and thats a step in the right direction.
  6. umm if you've seen the cult bmx movie 'rad' from wayyyyy back in the day they do that stuff, old school flatland bmx tricks, cept they do it even better than that. still interesting though
  7. I was browsing the UCI website and read that the World Champs will be held at fort william in 2007. Anyone know anything about this? Where is Fort Williams anyways? Thanks, Dave
  8. Five canadians in total made it to Koxx Days, I rode the Echo control with red rims and yellow rim tape, we overlapped through a few of the sections at the comp. And yes that is Hans riding. Looks like OTN is down so some of the pics don't work but they should be up again eventually.
  9. funny, i've been running these shoes with vp pedals for about 8 months and they're just nearing the end. Some of the best riding shoes i've ever had and next time I'm gonna try their high/mid top version.

  13. Sadly I could do more on my megamos 3 or so years ago then I can do now on my control 1065
  14. trials isn't exactly something everyone can do...I do'nt think theres ever going to be a problem with it becoming too common
  15. suprised no one has said soyo grips. i've yet to ride a thinner grip, but its like holding onto a knife
  16. so first off, if you plan on using xtr arms and sram levers for your setup then give up now. you will have one of the mushiest feeling brakes out there. generally the most popular levers are the xtr levers with avid arms or any non linkage vbrake really. I've run the sram 9.0 levers and they have good power and a great ergonomic feel but are very very spongy. i'm running ultimate arms although they have a problem with a little plastic piece inside the brake which tends to break, so i'd probably recommend gettnig just regular avid arms although then you won't have the buttery smooth feel from the sealed cartridge bearings, not to mention no play in your brake arms. right now my setup is xtr lever, xtr cable/housing, ultimate brake arms with super cheap stock mtb cartridge vbrake pads with a grind and my brakes are still perfect even with the shit pads. I run the bonz adapters which from what i can see are about 100 times better quality and design than the heatsink adapters. plus you can adjust bonz to fit any rim size. I'm running the new echo rim on my control and i have to use the widest setting, which is perfect but i can't run a booster, although my team and control both have the booster plates welded on and i'd never even think of putting a booster on either of them. People might say the heatsinks can be adjusted up and down but its pointless because you will never ever need to adjust them downwards only up higher which they can't go. And again, bonz are just a much higher quality. So thats the adapters part... The only problem with running a vbrake on a mod is the tire clearance. I'm sure this will be diffierent on each frame, but on my 2005 team i hvae only about 2mm of clearance from my tire and the cable where it crosses over. if you have any questions just ask.
  17. stevie is still ridin, top of his category but he hasn't really grown yet...and when you weigh 50 lbs you can only do so much lol

  22. thanks for the good comments, as far as gear ratios it was realllllllly easy coming from the 18-12 on my mod. I think it was 20-18 with 170 cranks
