  1. Cheers for sorting this, I haven't been able to log on for a week or two, or access trials forum what so ever on my ipad (I presume that's because my ipad auto logs me in?). Anyway I'm glad that's over now.
  2. Love the way it rides, the front end set up feels perfect for me. Not a huge fan of the red colour scheme, I'll probably strip all of the red bits back to silver or spray them black soon.
  3. I ran a Rain King (now called Der Baron) for 2 years, before switching to 24", with a lightweight Tesco tube and it never once got a puncture. It was a fairly light set up and I weigh 13 stone. If I ever go back to 26" that'd be the tyre I'd use..

    Stem

I run a 127x27 try all stem with 15mm of spacers and Trialtech high rise bars on my echo 24". It feels pretty perfect!
  5. Didn't see the other topic, the teaser video looks interesting though!
  6. This looks cool! http://mpora.com/videos/AAdfth6351le

    eBay bargain!

Not as bad as this, type that code into eBay and look at the third picture for a treat: 181102012597 I can't believe it's had 8 bids!
  9. Just to put an end to all of the conspirises, can you confirm that the silver version and the black version of the Echo SL freewheel are (excusing the obvious colour change) identical?
  10. I just wear football shin pads. Currently I've got a set of Addidas pads that only have two straps around the back of the leg so they don't restrict my calves, and have a few vents on the front so they're not hot to wear. Cheapest, least restrictive solution in my opinion
  11. Trials Addict have wrongly described that headset as an "intergrated headset". It's an internal headset, otherwise known as a semi-intergrated headset..
  12. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fsa/orbit-z-no9mcup-integrated-headset-ec019122 This is the one you need. Internal headsets are sometimes referred to as semi-intergrated headsets - don't confuse this with intergrated headsets. Intergrated headsets don't use upper or lower cups, the bearings seat against the frame. Semi-intergrated/internal headsets do use cups.
  13. The spoke method works well for '04 Magura's, not for the '05s. Edit: I remember somebody a while ago somehow fitting a track pump to the bleed hole, then simply pumping the piston out.
  14. I thought these were un-useable because there weren't enough threads to make contact with a screw on cog or a freewheel, resulting in the threads stripping?
  15. It's a compromise really. I find with a low front end your bike will be good for static moves (back wheel moves, to front, etc) but the bike will suck for rolling moves (taps, bunnyhops) and will more than likely hurt your back. Likewise too high of a front end results in rolling moves being alot easier but anything static feels terrible, although you shouldn't have any back pains. So you've got to find that height where your fairly comfortable and can perform both static and rolling moves.
  16. I'm 6'2" and ride a +70 BB 24", I run 15mm of spacers underneath a 127mm X 27degrees Try All stem (sloping top cap) and use Trialtech high rise bars. I used the 'angled spacer' method that I told you about above to determine that 15mm was the right amount of spacers for me. Then I cut my forks down to the angle of the stem, with the forks sitting around 4-5mm below the top of the stem.
  17. If you've got a 20mm spacer lying about, you can grind or file it to the angle/shape of your sloping stem. Put the modified spacer on top of the stem and then your free to play around with stem height without cutting down your forks. Once you've found the perfect height then cut the forks down.

    JD: Marino 24

How much are Marino frames like this? I'd tweak the geometry a little to my own liking and have a higher seat tube but it'd be pretty similar..
  19. Wow, I hadn't seen this topic before. Your bike looks amazing!
  20. You were kind of right in that the lockrings on Tensile and Eno freewheels tend to unscrew themselves when they're on a hub, but are okay when run on the crank arm.
  21. The only downside when changing to a smaller sprocket setup is you'll be putting more stress on your chain, making it more likely to snap. Change it every few months to avoid this.
  22. Fair enough, I just saw a comment at the top of this page saying "go carbon" or something and my mind jumped to carbon bars..
