    Bb Rise?

A higher BB improves clearance, and makes the bike easier to balance whilst on the back wheel - but it makes most rolling moves like taps and bunny hops much harder, which is why people run such high front ends to 'compensate'. If you want your bike more rear wheel friendly I would suggest going for a frame with a shorter chain stay length. I find that shorter chain stays contribute in a similar way to a high BB in terms of back wheel ability, but they don't hamper rolling moves Your Zoo! is probably 385mm CSL. A 26" frame with 380/375mm CSL would be an improvement, but you'd have to switch to 24" to reap the benefits of 360mm chain stays..
  2. I'm pretty keen on entering this competition but my old Nokia doesn't even have a camera, so I'd have to take you up on lending me a phone. Could you PM me the terms and conditions of doing that?
  3. Not overly heavy, are very strong, have a long steerer, steerer can fit a hollow star nut, have disc & 24" vee mounts, are less than £50. I run them and rate them highly
  4. Or that Deng usually expects them to cut the steerers down on full builds. Much better idea to keep them full length though
  5. Fair enough, I had thought that the yellow/orange flashes that appeared over some clips were an effect. I'm sure there's some impressive moves and big lines in there, as always, but I just couldn't concentrate Edit: spelling..
  6. Just finished watching Ali C's video and I feel ill. The overlapping clips and the shaky & slightly blurred filming gives it an old school feel, but it just gave me a headache and distracted from most of the riding. Shame it's been over edited IMO

    2012 Inspired Range

From the inspired site - http://www.inspiredb...hp?update_id=26 Edit: Nevermind. You guys are talking about the Hex, I got it mixed up with the Skye for a second. I'm guessing the next batch of Hex's will have disc mounts added though..
  8. That's exactly how the trials has got to go to make it more interesting for spectators.
  9. The super finals would be a lot more exiting if this wasn't the case.
  10. Does anybody know which Continental's Kenny is running, or are they prototypes? Also Giles' rear tyre, I couldn't tell what it was because of the the blank side walls. Is it another proto?
  11. Good point. In that case I'm in favour of the extension
  12. Either suits me, I'll be able to get an edit together by the end of August, but the extra month your suggesting would for sure help. The only down side I see is that it would be a little unfair for the riders who have already submitted their videos, they might have wanted to of developed it further if they'd known about the extra month sooner.
  13. I recently switched from 170's running an 18:15 gear ratio to 175's with a 16:13 gear ratio and it's a big improvement all round! Extra leverage and added stability, what's not to love?
  14. If you're looking to ride natural then heading over to Amroth or Wise Man's Bridge (walking distance from Saundersfoot) is always a good place to start. For street there's not a lot of good locations near by to where your staying. If your willing to drive then Carmarthen, Haverfordwest or Pembroke (all around 20 miles away from Broadmoor) are the better locations that I can suggest. As for Tenby there's some good lines about and some quite challenging sea defence rocks over on the North Beach, but its too busy right now with tourists to get any good riding done. I would show you guys around but I'm working every day right now, hope you have a good time riding down here!
  15. I think Leech's take on trials is pretty awesome. Another guy who inspired me quite a bit (and was the reason I got into Trials after seeing him on Drop In TV) was Shawn Denny, he was never the best in the world but he had a lot of style on a bike.
  16. Invisible Goodridge wire and housing
  17. "- As with all plastic water bottles of this price, squeezing it will deform the shape slightly and may cause a small leak between the cap and main body of the bottle." I thought you were joking when you said you'd change the description No, you do not. But this did make me chuckle!
  18. Usually I think topics like this are a bit pointless, but I agree that even if a product is cheap it should still be fit for purpose. Or if there are flaws in the product, such as a tendency to leak, then this should be stated in the product description. Here is Tarty's description: - Water bottle from U.K. manufacturers Hope. - The ideal size (capacity: 800ml) to pop in your riding bag so you can keep hydrated while you're out riding. - Printed measuring gauge on the side makes it perfect for mixing any sports drinks you might use. - Stylish, ergonomic design makes it easy to hold. - Easy-to-use valve provides good flow. There's no mention there that these bottles are cheap and leaky, so why should a customer buying this product expect anything other than a fully functioning water bottle? Maybe TartyBikes should state in there description that these bottles have a tendency to leak as noticed by Stan and Sam: Anyway I'm glad that Sam has got a replacement bottle, albeit not because of this topic. I also want to make it clear that I do not have a problem with TartyBikes or Hope.
  19. If that were mine I'd put a proper seat on it and a rear vee brake, then I'd be quite happy with it. Other things you could do: Put a bigger front disc on (185mm, as you current one looks like a 160mm). Maybe a change of stem? Shorter to make things flicky-er, longer to make it back wheel friendly (I'd go for a slightly shorter one). Tilt your bars back. Pro II Trials rear hub. Different tyres.
  20. It was creative and preformed on a trials bike so it fits the criteria of this competition. It's a shame that your too narrow minded to accept that his style of riding is 'trials'.
  21. Email sent. EDIT: just to confirm though: Name: Cai Evans. Age: 19. Years riding: 4 years and 10 months, will be 5 years at the time of the competition deadline. Sponsors: None. Category: Novice. Location:Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Cheers
  22. Slide them on as far as you can dry, then using your palm hit the end of the grip to slide it on further 'till it's flush with the end of the bar. Works every time for me and the grips never move afterwards, only downside is you either have to roll you grips off or cut them off..
  23. I'm not a fan of the new logo, I'm glad you've given us the option to switch back to the old skin.
