  1. yes their are rims better. Try the onza 128H rim. I find that many many small holes is lighter and stronger than a couple really big holes its a fair bit lighter than the echo and noticeably stronger and more pricey too. Viz rims are also lighter and stronger. However the weight and strength difference is very small I just buy them cause the colors are better. Keep in mind however this is just based off my observation from riding the rims. Obviously the weight is correct but their is no scientific way to measure strength, but the echo rim flatspotted doing things that the viz rim and onza did not flat spot on so in my opinion they are stronger. Onza is the best but I run a profile rear hub so i need a 36H rim and viz is the only choice.
  2. Not just me eh. Not thinking does work pretty well but its so hard to not think especially when you are filming. Maybe this is why stoners are good at biking.
  3. Hey I am 22 now and I just noticed I am a total pussy now. My friend is 18 and he is utterly insane. All I do now is tech. When you get older do you just become safer because you have better judgment or is it because you are more apathetic and can't use emotions to make you try stupid stuff? I started filming my new video and I am such a big pussy I just back out of anything that isn't a curb anyone else feel the same way?
  4. try using ulead video studios 10 if you can find it anywhere. Best editing software I have used works fast, renders well, and is simple. I really liked the video. Well done! Watching controlled riding makes it look a lot more fun than barely landing everything. It looks like your not even trying.
  5. I dont think anyone has back flipped off stairs. However I do forsee danny mac learning pedal kick back flips. This seems like a possible trick as a pedal kick puts you in that kind of motion you would just pedal kick super hard and try to flip off your bike. If you tried it off a drop you would get extra spin too so it may be possible to replace the kick from a jump with pure drive train boost.
  6. Its all about the gap drops. Looks like they are flying.
  7. if there spraypainted they look like crap after 2 minutes. Those arent spraypainted
  8. sooo good. The gap over the street was so insane when I saw the clip I thought you were going to do it in 2 hops.
  9. buy the viz 720s for sure. I just upgraded from the trialtech sports. The viz are slightly lighter have the same geo and a lot more rise. + it comes in cooler colours.
  10. You can add rise a lot of ways. Check your stem if your running a 150X30 its too small which is making you cramped. Consider getting a steeper longer stem like 170X35 this might help more than bars. As for bars look at the controltech scandium if you want a massive amount of rise. However most mountain bike bars will hurt your wrist if you use them for trials, good trials bar geo is 10ish degree back and 10ish degree upsweep like the trialtech sport which is why I recommend using the viz pro 720 bars. They have good trails geo and lots of rise they are also light and strong.
  11. I have had this product for 2 years and haven't had a single chain skip ever http://labs.yesspro.com/products/etr-horizontal Reasons this chain tensioner is good..... - Chain tensioner pushes up so normally the chain wraps around 50% of the teeth on the rear cog, this way it wraps around 70% - 6 settings of spring tension so you can make it insanely powerful - Mounts to your hub bolt and will work with any rear hub - speeds up engagement dramatically. Cogs are never made perfectly straight and bend over time so there will always be tight and loose spots in the chain, because it is spring loaded you will always have the same chain tension and instant engagement speed. - strength!!! I drilled 9 large holes into mine and it still hasn't bent or broken after 2 years of abuse - best of all it works! the chain never comes off the tensioner and it never goes onto the rear cog wrong and skips. Its super easy to adjust and modify too. -aluminum construction makes it decently light and easy to modify. I have found that this device has saved me about a million hours of bike mechanics. I hate having to change my geo every time my chain stretches or I get a new gear ratio, and it feels like there is an extra 50 engagement points added in your hub as soon as you start running it. This is also good if you run really small cogs on the rear. This also allows you to slam the wheel in the drop outs so the wheel will never be crooked and never become crooked in the dropouts when you ride.
  12. I used a shadow half link and it didn't work because the plates are too thick on the shadow chain resulting in the pin that goes on the normal chain I had being too short and the chain broke on it. However a khe collapse is a fat chain so it should work but personally I think the best solution is just changing your gearing. Adding one tooth in the front or back is the same as adding 4/5 of a half link. If you currently have a ratio where the chain is either way too loose or way to tight and don't want to change your ratio adding 2 teeth in the front and one in the back will change your chain tension so that you don't need a half link have the right tension and almost the exact same ratio. Another trick you can do to take a lot of slack out of your chain is buy a kmc z510 HX they stretch a lot less than normal chains and remove about 3/5 of a half link of slack.
  13. yeah the ones with the bump go either way but the one I am switching to is the one without the bump. Dam I guess Ill have to return it or something.
  14. oh i finally figured out what happened for some reason my driver is left hand drive instead of right. I must have made a mistake when I ordered it. I don't think their is a way of converteing left into right is there?
  15. thanks that is very usful. The springs don't work though the internals are different on the driver. On the removable cog driver their is a bump in the center that the spring bends over where as on the 1 piece driver its completely flat and the spring just flops down. Oh wait yeah that diagram is weird that is what i was trying but it didnt work Ill try it again or something but the pawl seems too long and is crunching udnerneath where the pawl rotates
  16. Hey I just bought a new titanium 1 piece driver for my profile hub (this one) http://www.danscomp.com/461074.php?cat=PARTS but the pawls/springs from my old hub don't fit on my current profile driver. I currently own this one with the removable cassette cog driver. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...category_id=147 Dans Comp is horrible, they don't even write this in the the description despite it being the most relevant piece of information... That and the weight which is also not listed. Anyways does anyone know where to get the correct pawls and springs? The pawls might be right, but I know the springs are wrong for sure the springs are the wrong length and shape.
  17. probably cause you were using a bmx rim trials rims are way wider. Its not a myth I have done it. Their are a bunch of types of khe tires I was running the lightest one I think thats the park one.
  18. khe tires suck. You have to run extremely high psi or they will pop from doing a flat 180. The best slick tire is the shadow folding tire. Its not too light but you can run it at a lower pressure and its really wide. You could also run bmx dirt jump tires. If i were you I would just run trials tires though cause they are the lightest.
  19. so your telling me you have never accidently dropped your bike on its side? What about when you ride a skinny and fall off one end? You must let go of your bike sometimes.
  20. really? lucky I broke mine after about 4. I was going about 1kmph and jumped off the side of my bike dropping the bike from 0feet high and when the pedal hit the ground it broke. The wellgos are slightly stronger than the trialtech though.
  21. I agree if you have ever actually tried using a block of wood you wood know it works perfectly every time. Thats a pun wood/would.... same with grease vaseline is a perfect substitute. What actually works better than a screwdriver for removing headset cups is a profile bb spindle if you have one. Its round so it never slips on the cup when you hit it. People who use headset pressed are people who have never tried the block of wood method if you can find anyone ever who screwed up a headset with a block of wood I would be amazed. You can't generate enough force with a 2X4 to damage a headset if its going in crooked it will simply stop moving. If you use a hammer you could screw it up but wood is flawless. Its extremely inconvenient having to goto a bike shop and have them take your bike and wait like half a week and its a million dollars for a press. Don't do it!
  22. To be honest trialtech sport pedals suck really badly I broke mine doing a flatland bunny hop and I only weigh 150 lbs. I have also broken a set of magnesium wellgos. The truth is you can't have a pedal under 400 grams that is strong enough for riders who go at it all day long. The inspired looks like a good choice upgrade, the ones I bought are the macniel face pedals (in the links below) Had them 5 or 6 months not a single problem with them. Basically just make sure what you buy is aluminum, magnesium is too weak for anything plastic is actually much stronger than magnesium. If you are not too concerned about grip than you could also buy plastic pedals, they are lighter than aluminum and almost as strong. Here are some good plastic pedals 416 grams http://www.danscomp.com/465074.php?cat=PARTS 400 grams http://www.danscomp.com/465237.php?cat=PARTS 374 grams http://www.danscomp.com/465091.php?cat=PARTS Here are some good aluminum ones 471 grams http://www.danscomp.com/465255.php?cat=PARTS 439 grams http://www.danscomp.com/465076.php?cat=PARTS
  23. Oh wait yeah of course it will work, front freewheels are the proof XD didn't think that through too well.
