  1. The guy has absolutely no idea what's happening, he will have most probably been telling you his opinion. However, the styles of the iBook G4 and later MacBook models hasn't changed in YEARS meaning it's due an upgrade. Apple ('Mac' as you know them) won't tell you anything over the phone.
  2. Higher Education discount on the MacBooks is 14% and Applecare is £47 instead of £199 which is a bargain. The screens on the MacBook's are only gloss which is a bit shit for image editing but it could be worse. Ideal solution would be using a MBP 15.4 and then get Antiglare screen which gives more realistic saturation and contrast replication. Mac Mini's are shit. Upgrades are hard, they're messy and I think you would be much better suited for a MacBook. If you buy through the online store I think you may qualify for something called Tricare which is if you buy through your Uni. It's shit hot and may save you £47. Gives same applecare hardware coverage but without the phone support. Putting 4gb's of ram in to the MacBook is easy peasy too and using stuff like PS and AI it's much better, kinda making up for the shoddy graphics card in them. When are you looking at buying? If you can wait out for 6 weeks I would....
  3. Oh and it has Tricare and will be Procare checked. Should help the sale a lot. Gonna put it on in a week or two
  4. They all do. It's shit! Anyone want to buy a MacBook Pro 15.4" SR 2.2GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram, 250GB 5400 RPM internal Hard drive. Brand new battery, brand new outer casing, fresh install of OS 10.5 Leopard on, including Microsoft Office '08, Adobe CS3 Web/Design Premium, iWork '08, iLife '08 and any other software you want lol. Anyone want to give me an estimate of how much I should put it on eBay for?
  5. I'm in a bit of a situation. I signed a contract saying I would have 9 months membership at a gym at like £22 a month or something. After 3 months I decided it was shit, facilities weren't good enough as they closed the pool for refurb amongst being skint as I'm a student. I cancelled the direct debit and thought nothing of it. Had a couple of letters saying please pay / re-instate the direct debit but ignored them. They've sent me one saying thatI owe them £160.93 as it is still unpaid. They will pass my details on to a third party company and the costs incurred by doing so will be passed on to me. I need to contact them by 16th May 'with a relaistic proposal for a settlement' or forward payment to them. After that date no discussion on the amount is valid. The place is called Ponds Force which is a gym and pool, run by Sheffield International Venues (http://www.sivltd.com/) Anyone got any kind of advice? I might just write to them and since I haven't used it in months just suggest like £80?

  7. Yeah, same situation but hopefully the piece of paper I'm paying for will get me at least a first interview at places which otherwise I wouldn't get. Then my interview can show them about me which should be enough!! I'm paying £3100 this year and it averages at £3400 for the next two. Luckily enough my rents are paying for my Accom so I'll only be in £10k of debt, plus £1k for my placement year taking it to £11, plus my placement year expenses which will be A LOT.

Haha more than that Put it this way. I'm staying at work for 2 hours for a 'staff meeting' tomorrow. I wonder what we'll be playing with

    Isn't this interesting:
  10. So who does it? I get number 2 all over also but am paying £6 for the privilage of some queer guy doing it wrong now, so might buy clippers and get the gf or flat mate to do it.
  11. don't be silly just cos they're baby blue doesnt mean they're for gays or women haha! They're just these bindings: http://www.boardwise.com/estorepro/storede...mp;brand=Burton but blue instead of black like this: I love it. Gonna test it tomorrow, see what the angles are like, no doubt they're totally f**king wrong knowing my luck!!
  12. wooop! Went for +15 / -6 angles for bindings, hopefully they'll be okay but we'll find out tomorrow

Haha you can buy my old 16gb one then in a few weeks Just telling you, not registering an iPhone with an iPhone contract does void your warranty and it's easily checkable. Just making sure you knew. The £169 deal is good for the 8gb one. Unlocking is easy, google it or as Jon said, use websites such as that. You can get an o2 iPhone sim card issued to you if you want so it's not that hard to go back to the o2 contact if you wanted to although the handset you have will have never been registered with o2 so it's a bit sketchy.
  14. Where were you boarding mid April? We're hoping to go to Val Thorens this winter, and maybe Canada next year
  15. I have a Ride DH! Woooooop. Got some Burton Triad bindings in blue like these: They're ordered from the 'net so should come soon!! Can't wait
  16. Yeah, update iTunes. If that doesn't work uninstall and re-install it. It's a really weird error, should be fixed if you do a clean install, if not i'd look at hardware tests..
  17. My business degree has about 10 hours a week teaching, that's lectures and seminars, sometimes less actually. I'd much rather I have more days in Uni and then I'll know the course better and obviously pass although this year's easy peasy so far I think
  18. Quoted for truthssssssssss Might as well firstly enjoy being a f**king student while you can. It's much less enjoyable and harder to do when you're older I gather. Free education is the bomb, and even paying for Uni is awesome. I know I'm gonna get a piece of paper which essentially allows employers to know that I've been trained about stuff, sat exams about it, know it well, have had a year in industry to practice this, then more exams, passed and done well, and would like a job. Meaning they pay better than if you're straight out of another shit job stacking stuff or building bikes for Hellfrauds!
  19. It's a bit of a shame that one of them is Halfords, who are possibly the shittest company for looking after employees, long term profitability or generally working for. They sell shit stuff, have shit internal employee structure, no progression in to a job that pays more than 20k a year and such. Halfords are generally the shittest company I've ever worked for.
  20. +1 Edit: I wondered why it took like 4minutes to process my reply!
  21. I'm gonna push my luck, leave it until Monday (hopefully the one Ride DH 157 he has won't sell!) and then go and try get some money off it and/or a discounted board bag.
  22. Ahh right. I'm unsure about the 155/157 sizing still. I've been riding 155 at Xscape on theirs but the dude at Slide said it shouldn't make much difference. There's a Ride DH 157 there for £238 or maybe get something like this from American eBay and ship it, working out a bit cheaper. You think it'll make much difference? I just don't want to make a wrong decision on it and be kicking myself in a few months! I'm 5ft 11" ish and will be using it for the park a lot. I'm not sure how much 2cm will make. That'd be a brand new one too, obviously. Cheers for the help so far haha.
  23. Cheers for the info They're not floppy at all which is really odd and annoying!! After talking to a mate I'm gonna try get a Ride DH in 155. There's a 157 in Slide snowboard store in Sheffield but I've been riding 155's for a while and I want flicky for the snowdome and park. They have good reviews in most places and although they're still quite a bit of money in the sales I've found one from 05/06 season in good condition for £90! Hopefully it's still for sale. I'm unsure about bindings actually now, a friend told me Ride ones are kinda reputable for breaking so I'm tempted to go for Burton's hmm.
  24. Woooop! Hit my first box and decent sized kicker today at Xscape in Cass. Was doing front and backside board slides by the end of the night, pretty happy!! I need to buy me a board I think. The hire ones are so stiff they're shit. Thinking about a 156 Ride Havoc cheap from last season, anyone got any other suggestions? I've got about £400 to spend on board and bindings although anything cheaper would be nice as I want a new coat :)
