Don't you think that's just because you're used to your own one and the sensitivity settings on each ipod are different? Pretty obvious! You're good at what you're used to... Definately. I think that Apple's marketing and designers have done a good job at brand awareness. Their marketing fund is huge compared to it's competitors and has combined fashion and function compared to one or the other with most competitors. iPods are far the most popular audio device in the UK so that's why they say iPods on planes and think that saying them is something people can easily relate to as being an audio/video device which they need to switch off. Meh. New ones are pretty nice though I think.

If it's just a CD-R then yeah just trash it. If you mean a CD-RW that you can RW up to like 10 times or something you need to hit 'Erase' in disk utilities (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility). The option is ready for mine but no disc inserted yet..

Go in to your music folder. Select the "iTunes Music" folder and copy it to your external hard drive. Open iTunes and go to Preferences, click the advanced tab and then edit the music folder's location to your external HD. Check your songs work then delete the copy on your internal HD. Easy peasy.

Doing an Archive and Install will get all your current files and settings, put them in a folder, wipe your system and put it back on. You need to go in to your previous versions folder to get your files but it's good for a spring clean. If you have an external hard drive then back up your data on to that then do an Erase and Install which is wiping EVERYTHING then you can put your stuff back on from your backup on the EHD. It's a bit of a ball ache but the best way to solve system speed problems. Nick

It's best to do an Archive and install of the OS. Since your startup disk was full, memory works a bit weird so even though you've erased it off the HD, it's still not in fighting fit condition kinda thing. Doing an Archive and Install from your Leopard install or original disks would do wonders for the system

If you don't like it. Don't use it. It's designed for consumers who have CDs and want to listen them on to an Apple MP3 player. If other people want to use it then you hardly have the right to moan about it. Audiophiles should use more advanced software if they need to, or just listen to it through a CD player and speakers. You don't HAVE to buy from the iTunes music store, and as far as I'm aware, it's the record labels which insisted that different countries had different pricing due to the difference in their economies and inflation.

Hello! Me and a few friends from University and home in Halifax are looking to go on a snowboarding and skiing holiday this January - March. We're all students so very price sensitive. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies which specialised in student-style holidays to good resorts. I've not been abroad snowboarding yet so I'm a bit of a n00b. I'd prefer to not get a coach if possible and maybe get flights from Manchester or somewhere would be nice. I think that budgets are around £600 so like I said, the cheaper the better. Thanks for any input anyone can give!

I told the girl I've been with for a few months now that I finished work at 7pm, i actually finished at 8.30 and she had plans. Meant we're not meeting and she's super pissed. I'm quite glad I've been talking to her less now 'cos although she's a gorgeous girl and I really like her, she's not ready for a relationship which is fine by me now, looking forward to freshers week to get some year below action. wooop!

Are you joking? Under a pound? We went to Karlovy Lazne which is the one with 5 floors near that huge bridge and it really isn't that cheap at all.. It was about 30-90 Koruna for a drink in there this summer, that's £2-4 from what I recall. There are defo better places in Europe!

Talked to her and stuff is slowly working out. I explainde what I thought in the email and it went good. Met her tonight for a quick drink and walked her down to work and she's coming to mine after (3am) for a bit more talking then sleep. Explained to her that we should set some ground rules and see how it goes with us because if we don't then we should just see less of each other 'cos I'm not getting attached to her and have her f**k me about. Suggested that we don't go with anyone else and if she does or I do then it's game over, which I guess is pretty much bf/gf. We'll see how tonight goes I guess.

I haven't been posting on here much recently, but it's funny how when girls do certain things they make you hit rock bottom Essentially I've been seeing a girl for about 6 months now in first year of Uni. Gorgeous girl who I get on with so much. Spending time with her is amazing and we've been acting pretty much like a couple (her staying at mine, seeing each other in free time etc) quite a lot. I've been traveling for a month and during that we talked a little about where we stood, and I got her to put what she thought about us in to an email, to find out if she wanted a relationship - as I sure did. Her feeling were pretty clear, she didn't want a boyfriend of any sort at the moment, as her and her previous had rushed stuff too fast. She liked me a lot and didn't want to talk about it previous as she didn't want anything to change between us, because we get on so well. Last night I was out at a nightclub with friends (not very drunk) and in the corner of the room saw her kissing another guy. I know that I've no ownership or her and we're not going out, but it made my heart sink. I told her straight away that 'I hoped he was worth it' and just left to get my friends. Seconds later she burst in to tears with her friend and I left on my own due to my anger. She rang me a few times, I ignored then just got angry down the phone. Ended up her trying to get from her house to my place later but she didn't make it. I've been thinking about it all day at work and it's awful. I really don't know what to do, maybe I should just de-tach myself completely from her because I'm already too close if we're never going to have a relationship. I would miss seeing her a huge amount and I know it would be pretty unbearable - especially over summer. I've said we need to talk and replied to her email with some of my thoughts. I just feel like shit
