an occasion so rare you felt the need to share it with us all?
  2. I did that exact test on that site last week when I was bored. Did it on my netbook and got 82 WPM. result was 82 correct with 5 incorrect Did it 4-5 times and got between 80-82 most times. Not yet tried it on a proper full sized keyboard yet though What did you get moose? Just had another quick bash at it, first attempt, on the netbook again:
  3. haha, typical response i know, but my main aim is to loose weight! every year I seem to loose 2-3 stone in the first 4 months of the year, then slowly put it all back on in the second half of the year. next year I'm really planning on loosing a bit more than usual, and trying to keep at least some of it off! target is sub 15st, that'd be nice.
  4. Network places: What's odd is that it's currently saying connected, but there's no cable in it at all..... Device manager: No idea what the uninstalled things there are, but I don't think they're networking related.
  5. it just says windows IP configuration danny, that's all I don't get it! I've plugged my netbook in via the same cable and it works instantly. there's something gay about my PC
  6. Right, I've checked the boot menu stuff, and under integrated peripherals, I found the following: then I did the IP config jobby, and got this: Any ideas greatly welcomed!
  7. Okay firstly this is Tori *waves* Basically I want to get rid of the wireless broadband and go back to wires (for a more stable connection for geek activities) however I am not a very good geek and have run into some issues. I have a cable. I have a computer. I have a modem. I do NOT have a local area network connections symbol in the bottom right of my screen on have it any where in control pannel! How on earth do I set it up with out this. I have tried just plugging it in. Nothing (although this does work fine on a different computer with the LAN symbol thing so it is not the cable or modem). I have tried getting new drivers for the network card. Nothing. How do I get my local area netwok connections back? Or is there a way around this? Any advice greatly recieved. Merci
  8. look at it as a Top Gear challenege scenareo..... you start in london, you have to drive to cornwall, to pick up 3 kegs of Prawns Dads finest home brewed Ale. he who gets back first wins..... bike v. Car, it's pretty obvious. On a serious note, on the ring, the bikes were SO annoying. Whilst being massively quicker on the straights, they were VERY slow around the bends, and held me up in both the mini and the audi, generally getting in the way. the only upside to a bike is the performance/£ factor, as it's pretty clear that just a 3-4k second hand bike is going to be more than ferarri quick
  9. My N110 is basicly exactly the same as the NC10 but with longer battery life I believe! I've found my 1gb of RAM to be plenty really, and the battery life is properly amazing, I can use it pretty much all day without being plugged in, which is so handy. the keyboard is apparently 92% standard size, which is brilliant, up next to a standard keyboard it's basicly 1 key short of full size, so you can switch from a desktop to this and still be able to touch type no worries. it's awesome get a samsung
  10. i know you cna upgrade the ram on the samsung I've got, it's got a removable panel on the back specially for adding ram. I't be pointless to try and use photoshop on one though, the screen is just too small sadly. it's more suited to browsing the internet and using simple programs really, graphics type things are pretty pointless.
  11. I think netbooks are great, I'm currently typing this from a samsung N110 netbook, and it's brilliant. I've got a high powered desktop for everything I could ever need at home, and I wanted something as small and light as possible, that I could use to map the mini whilst out and about, and run vagcom, as well as surfing the internet whilst watching the telly. I've got the N110 with a 3 PAYG mobile internet dongle, and it's great for taking around with me and using when I'm bored and stuck away from normal interwebs. it's got a genuine 10 hours battery life, which is awesome, and it's so small and ideal to carry around. I think laptops of around 15'' or more are pretty pointless, as they're too big to be properly portable..... That said, I'd never consider a netbook as my only computer, it's just not powerful enough for some things.
  12. me and iain are out. Mowgli at Prawns house.
  13. god that's nice. I'm not a froggy fan as we all know, but I love that!

  16. weather doesn't look too bad for a winter ride, miserable, but not raining I'll see all you bitches at the station at 11ish. is it still cool to park down in that gravel carpark past the car dealers?
  17. wooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! I think I'll come to this, been wanting to get out for SO long!!!! I'll see if I can get brown town in on this too
  18. SMS based media would suggest that Jardo is infact still alive. unless of course the wogs have his phone and have learnt to send text messages....
  19. avoid TB!!!!! surely you need at least one reliable car? if you must, surely the 1.9 is the one to go for as well? either way, buy a mk2 golf instead!
  20. isn't it about this time of year again?
  21. agree'd! Maybe 5-10mm out on the back, and they're REALLY smart Robin. They somehow make the car look much more classy than the other wheels you've had....
