hahaha, so the car thread has become SO big it's crashed TF and TMF? that's brilliant! How many replies was it up to before the split? Must be the biggest thread I've ever seen, unless those gay angry / happy threads are now bigger?
-
Shame really isn't it JT, I don't really come on here all that much any more, and it's not just me. Back in the day posts on chit chat would fill the first page in just a few hours, yet you look now and the posts on the first page go back for days, it's all slowed down so much. It seems like things like facebook and the like are taking over from forums even, I know I've got LOADS of facebook friends that I've added through forums and stuff, and a lot of our chat just goes there now, rather than being written publically on forums. That, and the original 'trials forum crew' are all older these days. You go on a ride now-a-days and there just isn't the same laughter and social side to it. Just 'how high can you sidehop' meh. I must be getting old. I never leave chit chat, but TF is part of my internet routine, and still the first place I check every time open fire fox. It's late. I need more coffee. On till 06:30!

Truth be told Gaz, you may well get a better map at R-tech, but for your needs, and the minimal notable difference, I'd sling it into JKM for a Revo map
-
I'll be at Combe with it, probably be my first show of the year The honest truth is, whilst it's epic fun and loads of character, it's just not fast enough these days!
-
Big wheels cost a fortune Si, as do tyres! You've been playing with little wheel until now
-
the main one that goes across the front subby snapped when trying to remove a brake hose to get it MOT'd last month, So I rolled it back into the garage and closed the door
-
Mine's still sat in the garage waiting for an MOT! Last on the road December 10th when we won a road rally in it. Only needs an £8 brake pipe, and a few UNF nuts to bolt the front suspension back together and it's MOT ready, but I just don't have the time Makes I sad

wow, so, the LNC are long gone then?] Funny how times change, I remember when this thread used to get shit loads of replies. I started work at midnight, finished now, just chilling before sleep. I swear when I was at uni there were people online 24 hours a day pretty much, but he last few nights it's just been so dead! What happened people. Did we all get old? Are the new generation just not as awake as we were in our youth?
-
Wow, now I remember why I spend so much time on here, it's so grown up!
-
I wouldn't bother, it's a cheap honest car. I'd not spend a single penny on it and enjoy it for the budget motor it is
-
haha, oh yea, OK. I'll give you that one

As long as you're happy dude it's the AMD stage 2 that has be shitting bricks with regards to premature conrod sightings!
-
Nothing, he's never been there They mapped his car before he bought it though, and gave him the same after sales service and care that they would had he personally spent the £300 there himself. All a bit late now as you say dude. It doesn't effect me in the slightest, I'm just dissappointed for you that you spent your hard earned cash on something which is widely regarded as rubbish Bit of research would have saved you a load. if you had R-tech stage 1, stage 2, and any subsequent map tweaks would be totally free as well
-
Nopes, I've had a look, and you won't find anything i don't think. Reason being, the only people who can expose these short comings are tuners, with dynos. These people stand to make money from exposing the faults of AMD, and as such, they can't really be seen to be bad mouthing other tuners, as it's just not done. Bill has had countless AMD mapped cars in and found them to be dangerously lean, Niki has had exactly the same, speak to either of them about it and they will laugh like you wouldn't believe, but mention it on a public forum and you get nothing..... Same goes for P-torque too, absolute bunch of jokers. Try asking about AMD maps on the Secret Seat society and you'll start a MASSIVE argument about it, I have done several times before, and people left the group because they couldn't hack it. AMD's rollers over read by about 20bhp too, compared to Badger 5 and R-tech, I tested them all back to back over 3 consecutive weekends Seriously bad call there boyo, did you actually check the distances? AMD essex, 93 miles, 1hr 50mins from you according to google. R-tech, 121 miles, 2 hrs 30mins from you by google. Only an extra 40 mins further than GAY-MD were!

There are no links, it is discussed behind closed doors. I'm afraid you simply have to accept it I'll see what I can find later on
-
hahahahahahahahaha. Love it! Revo are a bit spikey on the older stuff, although far better on an LCR than on an LC I must say. AMD's bad rep comes from other tuners George, All AMD customers seem to be very happy, and the cars put out good figures, but whilst the figures are good the cars are going a bit mental doing it, far too much boost, not enough fuel, hitting EGT protection at the top end and fuel dumping, all just a bit crazy and unsafe, although it makes the figures and people smile. What were the before and after dyno results? Ignore Jardo by all means, but have a good read of the above ^^^ You won't find it documented on SCN anywhere, because M0rk deletes anything bad said about any forum sponsor within seconds, and SCN is full of clueless fanboys, who like I say above, are blissfully unaware that their cars, whilst fast, are running dangerously hot and lean
-
Oh spunky! AMD? Really? Havnt you heard about all the horror stories of AMD mapped cars? They up the load without the fuelling, running dangerously lean and usually with far too much boost! So many horror stories about AMD mapped cars Did they dyno it before and after? Glad yore liking it, but I'd be very worried about an AMD map!
-
It'd still be slow though, even with all that 'sound nicer' kit bolted to it!
-
I had two cars flash me after I took that vid, so suspected there would be pigs down the road somewhere and didn't want to risk it. Plus the road down to Axford from Farley Mt was covered in Mud when I thrashed it this morning

In car clips at Dan's request, Sound is awful as it's filmed on the iphone, and watching it back, it doesn't look that quick at all! For reference, fastest speed in clip 1 is about 107 at 19s Then another slightly longer one: It doesn't actually look very lairy, because the mapping is so smooth, and with the LSD and semi slicks it just hooks up so well!
-
^^^ what Jardo said! I run it with a 50/50 mix of de-ionised water and pure methanol, the methanol not only has a fuelling quality, but it also evaporates incredibly quickly, and it's this rapid evaporation that that cools the charge air so fast. Running WMI has similar effects as running 120ron Race fuel. Dann: it's got a map sensor on the controller, and detects boost to know when to pump. This one is a progressive kit, so I can program where it starts to inject, and it builds progressively until my preset max boost level. I've got this one starting to pump at 7psi, building to a max at 15psi. the car runs 14psi on actuator (around 275bhp) and bout 18psi peak on boost, which current figures suggest is somewhere around 320bhp. Went out for another blast this morning, and it's absolutely savage on boost down a country lane! proper comedy stuff, 3rd gear wheel spin at 90mph in the dry on semi slicks on anything other than a perfect road!
-
You mong, you'll never understand. All those silly short shift shifts in your pug and things felt shit. a high up gear lever feels SO much better. Nothing wrong with a long stick if the throw is sorted out accordingly. Got my WMI install finished today: Controller: Injector in welded boss: Altered charge pipe route to suit: All finished: Green LED is for when the pump is active. Went out and did some logs, and took a few pics: Current logs suggest it's around 320bhp Certainly feels pretty violent on the road. 19 seconds to get from 30-140mph on the logs I did earlier.

To be Honest JT, although you made up that stat, I'd say it's pretty bloody accurate! Never saw this thread at the time. What a cock.
-
You knows it Craig! I'm coming along to offer my help and support to all those in need. Basicly, you want to see shit trials, and bucket loads of needless abuse, I'm your man! See you in the morning xxxx
