a vice, a screwdriver/chizel etc. , and hammer. then hammer the pawls (i think, well the bits that stick out on the middle) round anti-clockwise until it comes off. or get a freewheel tool >_<

theres a very good one i use called bink and smacker as when i used my dads camera it was all .mov and i needed them .mpeg to go into movie maker. search it in google and you should find it :(

i think the whole as you say cheese thing, or them being weak mainly refers to the t-pro, as they crack. the one i had did, twice.
