  1. If you liked the trialtech cranks then stay with them but get a different freewheel due to the eno does have 1.375" x 24 tpi thread where as most other freewheels have 1.37" x 24 tpi which would not have helped with it stripping, if you want a serviceable freewheel then the new tensile is a good choice. I have found the trialtech cranks very good, I had a sprocket on mine that was badly made and caused the thread to strip but luckly the sprocket was so rubbish that a can run them with a trialtech sprocket even with some material missing of the threads and have been for a couple of months.
  2. Im not sure if any one has heard but it is the great south run in Pompey on sunday so it will most likely be very busy and driving in will not be easy with some of the roads being closed.
  3. I may be being stupid but if you heat it up then the aluminum will exband sooner than the steel/chromoly sprocket so it will make it a lot harder to get it off. Try cooling it down, would not be able to get it cold enough for it to come straight off but may make it a bit easier to get of with a large lever of some sort.
  4. I may be wrong but I think its because they are "advertising" there products due to if we purchase their products from other places due to we have seen them on the forum then that does mean that they are getting more of there products sold from showing them on the forum which technicly is advertising but I do not think this is what the creators of these topics were intending to do. I do agree that these topics should not have been closed and should be re-opened.
  5. That looks so nice, good to here your wrists are better. Ride soon.
  6. If your going to clean ur rim then dont use white spirit as it does have a small amount of oil in it, you can use paint thinner on anodizing but make sure that it is anodized and not paint.
  7. Any news on the Vee backings Mike, pictures of design or prototype? I will most likely getting some Phat material after I have finished with my Rock Blues and would like to see if its worth waiting and getting the backings as well?
  8. Screw a screw half way into it and then use some pliers on the head of the screw to pull it out. If you can put a pilot hole in the bar end to make it easier to put the screw in and so that you dont push the end in even more when putting the screw in.
  9. I have had the Vee versions for about 4 months and they work great and make a nice sound. I found for best results a light to medium grind is best, also they have a very good wear life, mine still have well over half the pad material left.
  10. I have also been having this problem with my ProII of the allen key part rounding and I have used lots of different allen keys.
  11. I have found that Vees are extremely good and with a good setup they can be just as good as maguras. Im currently running the standard vees from a MAD Phase 1.3 and with Rock blues in CNC backings on a light grind and I can not fault it. Its mainly down to what you prefer. Personaly Im staying with vees.

    My New Bike

Go for it. What are they?
  14. This is my new bike, most of the parts have come of the MAD Phase 1.3. Its taken a bit of getting use to but it is comfortable to ride. It has a much larger wheelbase than my other bikes with a wheelbase of 1090mm. Sorry about the poor quality, will get some better pictures soon. Comments welcome. Edit: Forgot to add a big thanks to Tartybikes for there help with the parts and helping me out with some problems that I have had.
  15. Yer, had some problems with it but got it finished yesterday. I will get some pictures up before I leave tonight.
  16. Me and Nathie Wafie are going to be riding Southampton tonight. Any one else going to come join us? Meet at 6:30 outside Spar.
  17. Lepe has the D-day ruins and in hythe in the marina around the back they have all the old wooden sleepers where you can make your own sections.
  18. Hey, I live in Hythe but my bike is currently in bits but I should be able to get it built in a week or so. Give me a text whenever you want to ride hythe or southampton. My number is 07706042100.
  19. What a shock, I only met him a couple of times this year and he looked like such a health man. I think signing a card from all of us is a great idea Nathan. My thoughts are with him and the family and I hope he makes a full recovery.
  20. I would like to go but not to sure if I can get a lift but I will give it a go.
  21. Shame I was looking forward to doing it as Im on holiday when the next round is on so I will not be able to go. A play day sounds like a great idea, I will be up for that.
  22. I have huge respect to the guys that made those videos of them going big and I enjoyed watching them but what I am getting at is that it is the kids dont have the patience for trials, as trials is not a sport that you can jump on a bike and get instant success. If your talking about them going to BMX then they get a bike and go down a local skatepark and start doing jumps higher than they could do if they spent the time it takes to do the larger stuff on a trials bike that they would get the same sort of adrenaline rush from. You are right the younger generation would like to see the massive videos that have been made in the past but as these guys have decided to stop, there are almost no people coming up and doing massive stuff because they learnt to rely on those videos to keep them going. Danny has gone against this and has come up with unique style of mixing trials with some move taken from other bicycle sports and has become massively successful and he has done it with out watching a video of some one else doing because there has not been any.
  23. +1 There just is not enough younger people starting trials and staying with it for more than a month before they give up and then a couple of months later they watch a trials video and start again and it happens over and over so they never get anywhere. The problem that we have is that the younger generations seem to expect things to happen then and there and do not have any patients so when they find that trials is harder than it looks they give up. Dont get me wrong there are still lots of people out there starting trials and staying with it but just not as many as there was.

    Colour Match

I think that is going to be the best bet, to try to get the closest match to it and use the colour cards at Halfords to find the closest. That was the idea that I came up with today but the places that i have found will only mix up large tin of it and will not put it in a spray form and I would like to spary it and not have a large tin of paint left over. Thanks for the suggestions.

    Colour Match

Right, I cracked my M.A.D Phase 1.3 and I have had it welded up and I need to get some paint to match it up but I do not know what shade of blue it is so if some one that has been in the same situation as me and has found out the colour if they good help would be great, I want to ride in the HBTC comp at the weekend so need to know it as quickly as possible. Many thanks Ollie
