  1. That is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard you say, without geography you wouldn't be able to louch or land those contraptions you call space ships. Oh, and saving us from NAZI dictatorship and communism. Incorrect, for example hurricanes are increased by glodal warming. As are floods. Don't get me wrong I owe Americans a lot, saving my life indirectly etc. But I distinctly dislike some of the goverment policies.
  2. The thing is that if you reduce the diameter of a tube but increase the thickness you get a flexier tube that's just as strong. So maybe it' s for a different ride feeling ?

    Overhang

Well, 145 mm stem is damn big in any direction, but with a bit of work you can probably turn it round. If you take a photo of your handlebar are and bike I can probably tell you how to sort it.

    Benc

And the headtube and the different tube profiles, and the different angles of the tubes and the bb rise. Loads of differences, though not all going to change the ride of the frame.
  5. I take it you don't understand metaphor. To place a high price on something to see if someone will pay it is wrong, it's not illegal, but morally it is wrong.
  6. To you and anyone who has that attitude.
  7. If everything is tight it is almost certainly your brake, the best way to check this is to turn the wheel to 90 degrees with the frame, then try rocking it again. If it still rocks I have no idea if it doesn't then it's almost definitely the brake.
  8. I met some americans in Israel, they had no idea of where Scotland was. I explained it was north of England, "what's north??".
  9. Depends who makes em, for example shimano cartridge pads are longer than the normal cheapo ones. Heatsinks are different to plazmatic and the koolstops are different again.
  10. He's got a really cool style, springy is the best word I can find for it.
  11. Unless boiling can somehow rearrange the pairing of electrons in atoms on a major scale you have nowt to worry about, however it could degrade the glue holding the pad material on, though it doesn't seem too.

    Raiting

Tis a bit harsh, this is the place to ask questions like that, ok using the spellchecker would be nice, but I'm sure the lad will get the hang of it in a while. You too, again way too harsh. In fact that goes for the lot of you. EDIT Awaits flaming.
  13. The front has bigger holes in proportion and also has thinner sidewalls. EDIT It was a rear rim, but a messed up build that porter killed. For all your echo rim needs click here. Sorry for the confusion.
  14. Didn't he use a front rim on the back or something?? EDIT See next post.
  15. As long as you keep an eye on it and don't ride it loose you won't do any damage. Just ride it a bit, check it every time you go out for a ride to make sure it isn't loose and your sorted.
  16. Giacomo is riding for koxx again, the frame has been discontinued as far as I can see,and I think Gilles quit. EDIT, something about rally driving i think??
  17. Well that vid inspired me to try, and I can now get a maxxis 2.5 double ply off an alex DX32 without much bother.
  18. The real question is: how well does it work?
  19. I know that a guy in israel still has one, still in good nick too.
  20. I know they're a bit thin, but have you consided a d521(new name EX729) as they are the best rims, just too thin. Also ronnies are good, I have a reggie on the front (same material same desing, just thinner) and it is invincible.
  21. Not really, in a king if it gets between the drive rings it will seriously impair the engagement, because the teeth on the driverings are so shallow, but in a ratcher n pawl mechanism is will at most interfere with one pawl and then most likely not to a great extent. Imagine a 1mm diameter piece of grit between ringdrive plates, go to bromleybikes for a picture of plates, it will cause serious bother, the same piece of grit in a ratchet and pawl system will cause very little bother.
  22. The thing about a king hub is that if it gets a wee bit of crap on the ringdrive yer fecked. Also chirs you've forgotten the most important part of the ring drive system, the helical spline that locks the 2 drive plates together.
  23. Theres obviously some sort of technique going on there, want to share it??
  24. My trye is so tight on the reggie rim that it's difficult to move it accross the rim.
