Since they will be available before the end of this week, I've just added Pre-ordering to my website for all the V2 CNC Magura pads (Coust pads fitted/ Heatsink yellow or white pads fitted / Empty backings) This means that once again the full range of HeatsinkBikes.com brake pads is available: Coust or Heatsink Magura pads in Power pad backings, and the CNC Vee & CNC Magura backings with Coust or Heatsink pads! The race is on to see who gets their hands on these CNC Magura backings first! First come first served I should hope that Trialmarkt will snap up a batch of these new CNC backings very soon. I'll make sure I catch with Jan asap so has the opportunity to get these in first! Steve

I was equally disappointed to hear of the loss of the parcel in the post somewhere between England and the Ukraine! I hope that the replacement at my cost will be all the better for featuring the brand new CNC Vee & Magura backings. ------- V2 CNC Magura Backings On the topic of the CNC Magura backings I've been assured that these will be ready on Thursday.   4. Hi All, Mk2 Vee Pads now in stock! The time had come for the innovative and classic HeatsinkBikes design CNC Vee backings to be revamped. Since 2004 these backings have become firm favourites with Trials and BMX riders due to a number of reasons: The first to be designed for Magura sized padsThe first with readily available refillsSlimmer than those before so allowing thicker pads Of course the brake pads are 100% made in England. The backings and bosses are CNCed from billet Alu & steel, whilst the pads are the World Championship winning HeatsinkBikes compound moulded by a English world renowned specialist company in HeatsinkBikes designed tooling. All the above is still true, but now we've sought to liven up the looks a tad by adding some rear cavities inspired by the form of Lamborghini supercars (too much time spent watching Top Gear!). These also decrease the weight without compromising strength. More CNC machining but we're very pleased to say that the price remains the same as before! There is still the option of buying the Backings without pads.   9. Defo give the PTFE tape a try first. Potentially a cheap and quick fix. Hydraulic brakes are low pressure so it may work. Otherwise, Loctite 577 is the thread sealant I would use (works for higher pressure set-ups and you'll still be able to get the bleed screw out when you need to), although not worth buying just for one job since it will cost around £15 for a bottle!   11. Hey there, It's good to hear that you're getting into your riding. Don't worry about the scratches - they're inevitable and you should find that most trials components are solid so it doesn't effect their strength and only makes it clear that you've been riding your bike hard! The old pedal in the shin is a nasty knock to get. I've had it plenty of times and have a pretty scarred up calf to show for it. I'm sure most other riders have the same! It's definately a great idea to ride with some calf protection when starting out. Maybe later you'll feel confident to do without. I used to use football shin pads back in the day since they're cheaper than the bike specific ones. If they look funny you can always hide them under some light trousers. I don't know if there are any pedals which are particularily leg friendly since they need to be grippy for your shoes so have sharp bits on them normally. That said, I have seen some pedals which are really over the top! As for your other questions, some photos of your bike would help to support your queries about the bolts and drivetrain. Steve

  18. Just popped the wheel out of the shed. Voila, a fixed rear wheel from a skipping old one. The Epoxy does look funny the way it has dried The wheel seems super solid and ready to be put into the frame Steve

  20. Top notch! Gallons of bite and hold on tap They give me the confidence to go bigger with my riding. I've got the freehub tool with an adjustable spanner hanging off it + weight holding the hub at the engaged point. About 120 deg of Epoxy Resin going off around the seam between freehub and wheel. It was either this or fitting another spare sprocket (with holes in) and ziptying the sprocket to a spoke to stop freehub back movement. I'll see how this Epoxy route works out. Fingers crossed!   21. I finally got the rear brake sorted out Replacement wheel (with wider rim) now completely trued, and CNC Maguras with Snowy pads fitted about as accurately as I've ever fitted them! Time consuming, but worth it. Epoxy drying on the rear hub (to stop it back rotating now used with a front freewheel). Riding again tomorrow to check out the improvements! As a next step I don't want to have to disassemble the bike again for painting but I do want to get a fresh new colour on the frame . How hard can masking all the mounted components be!? Worth a try! Steve
  22. Well I needed to sort out 2 problems with the build without investing loads of money. The rim is too narrow for the frame which causes brake set-up problems, and the rear hub is weedy with not many enagagements. I have a spare wheel with a wide enough rim but knackered (skipping) hub, so combining this with a FFW set-up avoids a major spend! 'Burns not for sale yet Steve
  23. Time for an overdue improvement to the drivetrain. Out with the LX hub finally and I'm sad to say goodbye to the Middleburns. Front Free Wheel plus fixed rear hub is the next set-up. Hoorah for the TF "For Sale" section Just need to true my replacement rear wheel, grind it and then reset up the brakes with a rear booster. Then the frame will be repainted a nice bright colour which I've finally decided on after much deliberation! Steve
