  1. Thanks for showing off the power of those Heatsink CNC Magura pads Neil! Fantastic to have you back and to be onboard Just the inspiration I need too for my (more modest) riding aspirations! Steve
  2. I think you've found your calling Rich! Compelling riding and commentary / analysis. Liking the HeatsinkBikes name drop too! Steve
  3. Hi all, Armands at Trialparts.net kindly pointed out these videos to me by Latvian rider Janis Lapsa the other day. I watch loads of trials videos every day, but these ones stood out! I also remembered that Janis was a loyal customer of HeatsinkBikes which was a bonus! Janis got himself kitted out with a HSB CNC Vee and Vee Adapters set up a while ago, and since then he's been finding them incredibly reliable against the worst the Latvian weather can throw at him! He tells me that he's much preferring our UK winters now he lives in the UK. That's despite us just having the worst winter for quite a few years! Maybe some of you have caught one or other of these videos before. If so I thought they definately worth showing again! One shows impressive riding in the rubbishy snowy weather which we all know to some degree here in the UK recently. The other video has a 100% summer vibe! Janis Lapsa Vids I hope you enjoy! Steve
  4. MTW isn't the same without Frankie Boyle
  5. Hi Glynn! That's really kind of you to make up that logo. It's perfect for Twitter I've made it the new background Thanks again! Steve
  6. Thanks Luke! I've been enjoying the trip down memory lane too as I've been digging out the old photos of components, brake pads etc. Crazy to think it started back in the summer of 2004. Where did the time go? On the subject of old HSB brake pads, in the Prototype parts gallery is a photo of my first concept for the reuseable magura refill size CNC Vee pads. Rather amusing design now! Proof that first ideas often require some development! Steve
  7. Update to 1st post - New Heatsinkbikes.com Facebook page details Steve
  8. Amazing videos as always! Steve

  11. It's an exceptional video Steve! I'm really pleased for your riding to get such outstanding feedback on the forum. So many great videos are posted daily yet you still consistently manage to stay out at the front of the pack! Amazing promotion of the HeatsinkBikes CNC Magura pads too! More power to you, Steve
  12. Looking at the Krazyglue website it says it's a type of Cyanoacrylate glue, this type of glue often referred to by people as "Superglue". Apparantly the most popular brand of Cyanoacrylate glue in America? The Loctite glues are also Cyanoacrylate glues. The Krazy glue site makes lots of bold statements about how strong it is, without putting any numbers on it. Who knows if it's as strong a Loctite, but it looks a promising candidate for you to try. Of course, you do so at your own risk though (legal disclaimer!) The Loctite glues are intended for Industrial applications so give detailed datasheets on strength in various conditions. Always nice when making a product available in mass production. For another perspective on pad refill fitting you can read the Heatsink guide: HSB pad refill fitting guide It's worth cleaning before with Acetone to remove lumps of old glue. The biggest tips are to use a vice and do a test fit of the pads into the backing before you apply the glue. Nothing worse than the pad going in wonky because of a lump of glue left in the backing. You have to then pull it apart and spend alot of time trimming dried glue off! Of course being pedantic, if you vary from the specific manufacturer's instructions then they can always turn you away if you encounter problems! So you'll have to digest the various recommendations and then make up your own mind about what to do Steve
  13. A little while ago I was thinking about the design of a brake mount which allowed Vees or 4 bolt maguras to be interchanged via the swapping of bosses into a plate on the frame. It had some issues so never got off the ground. Now that the moment is gone, feel free to peruse the original concept drawings if there are any ideas worth persuing. On each mount, both Magura bosses would be removed and only the Vee boss fitted. The aim being to minimise the already statuesque height of the Vee boss! Wanting the option of both mounts, in the end I went for the simpler solution you can see on the black 24UK. Good luck with the frame! Steve
  14. Thanks for your kind offer Glynn! This would be much appreciated - You've got mail.
  15. Nice one Damon! Not just stupendous power but great new ideas too. I'm glad that those HSB Coust Vees & Coustsinks I sent you are being put into front line action! Looking forward to Vid #8 Steve
  16. 17. Astonishing precision and guts there Ross!
  18. Heatsinkbikes.com use only the official Coustellier brake pad compound direct from the Coustellier family, and have over 5 years of experience cutting this compound to fit our various Vee and Magura backings. To address all these allegations of Michel Coustellier somehow holding back a superior compound and supplying a sub-standard one to shops like Heatsinkbikes.com, as I said in previous threads, it's quite an allegation to make against such a key player in the Trials world! Feel free to put this accusation direct to Michel via email to hear what he says I'm sure if you buy any Coustellier pads from Heatsinkbikes.com they'll definately meet your expectations for performance! All the best, Steve
  19. Hi Simon, Great news, your pads are on their way to you. Your Coust pads will have more pad material than in 2009. Improved from 6mm to 8mm On the subject of Coustellier pads, I've just finished making this big batch of Coust pads for a shop order. All the best, Steve
  20. All the best, Steve
  21. Hi all, I hope you don't mind a BMX intermission. There is a trials link via the HSB CNC Vee pads these guys both run! Sam Davies Bate & Dan Guider were kind enough to rustle up a little video of some of their Rampworx riding. I hope you enjoy the watch http://vimeo.com/8802611 Steve
  22. Hi, Aurelien just sent me a link to a quick video he's made trying out a new Inpulse R26 Sport frame. Aurelien Inpulse R26 Sport Vid Aurelien has been on the www.heatsinkbikes.com team riding with our Magura pads (CNC Alu backed & plastic backed) since 2005 during which time he's shown their performance by winning the World Champs 4 times in the Jr category!
