  1. Wow Adam that looks awsome! I think i like it more than when i had it in brown. In fact i definitely like it more. A lot more. (for me) this has got to be the nicest 24" iv'e ever seen? I was already convinced geometry-wise nothing could be better looking (in my eyes) than that frame.. And seeing it in Rawfinish with such nice parts and keeping the orange licks.. i just love it mate! If i remember correctly geometry was..1045 w.b. +25 b.b , 382 c.s, 73.5(ish) HA Something along those lines anyway. Obviously longer seat tube and headtube than standard aswell. I know it rides amazing and i bet those discs just make it so much more fun aswell. I kind of want to have a go.. Do you ride this way much? Maybe meet up at a ride now the weathers getting better.. Iv'e been contempalting selling the Pashley too if your'e interested?! then i'd be just left with the TA26 and would then no longer be keepin it steel so i might not.. Anyway, Nice one Bro.. Totally approve. P.s - Black would still look great but i like the Orange bars
  2. Really enjoyed that - great riding! Bike looks lovely too. Thanks
  3. Yeah man, I'd never seen it done in that context and with such finesse..Really liked it! I did try a line once that was a nose manual to 'Nollie up' a *big* curb type thing .. something i rekon you could pull off nicely? i never got it. Would love to see variations of that. Was a really nice line.. Along with all the others I suppose Nollie is technically the correct term. Snobby, you are the weakest link.. goodbye. I rekon Ed Tongue would have a grin on his face seeing this type of riding going down on the 24" trials. Once again, Top notch mate. Peace.
  4. That was ace. Really enjoyed the video and the lines. Had a true 'on the street creativity' vibe about it which i liked. not too contrived That nose-up (can we call it a snobby??) to the rail - although not the biggest move out there, was by far my favourite. Probably because i related with it alot - like i understand the want to do stuff like that. That line spoke volumes to me and Thats the type of vision i personally love to see! 10/10 for that one Great video. Ride on :zorro:
  5. Duno, probably? They getting bigger every week last i checked! If not.. Bar extenders? Now, that's really enough LCD for me Beauty sleep..
  6. You see, for me.. that looks quite nice. Theres that balance to it in my eyes. Although i do abide by the strict *bmx bars should be inline with the forks* rule ( or a smidgein laid back - which might be in need to componsate the aesthetic of a longer stem) so a longer 70/80mm stem would need to be sought. Maybe someone will try it one day.. Anyway, thats enough computer for me for today. Ride on fellows (A)
  7. Aye, you guys might be right .. i was just sortof thinking out loud and hoping for opinions! I just thought as it seems people are approaching that same sort of bar height it might work! ( And for some reason i quite like the look of the latest 24" bmxs - i think i just like to see a stem very near the headset i dunno why ) I do see the problem with the bar slippage though thats why i suggested a custom cnc'd stem ( which i imagine you didnt see as you mustv'e been typing) .. i imagined m6 bolts obviously? I dno, thought it was worth throwing out there. And that maybe you Pros might like the idea? But heh.. It's you's whos gotta ride and develop them at end of the day.. Just out of curiosity have either of you tried it before? If so what was it like on these new age street trials rigs? Hmm weight wise.. I guess that's true. But whats the total weight of all that extra steerer taken off the weight of a set of bars? Your'e all strong lads.. you can hack it i'm sure! I still think it'd look pretty dope Definitely unique! Obviously would only be suitable for a dedicated street rig. ( Sorry, retarded sounded harsh, i just meant it seems like the fine balance has been lost a bit. Like the golden ratio in art.. It's something to do with Fibinacci i'm sure
  8. For me, these bikes are starting to look abit weird with all these stackers, then a high rise stem, then high rise bars?! Does anybody just run a set of bmx bars? Would probably look better and feel pretty cool for all this bmx-trials thats going on now days.. Obviosly would want a 80/90/100 stem with 22mm clamp which might be a problem but you could probs shim a 25.4 or something. I dno.. theyre just starting to look abit retarded up front to me. Maybe could get a custom stem cnc'd that's 90mm or whatever?? Otherwise, technically.. a very nice bike and hope it rides well for you! (edited to try sound more polite
  9. You probably remember this? Awsome.
  10. Yeah man - got any pics? Maybe start an old school trials bike thread? Like early days old.. ( admitedly i'm thinking late 90s/2000 for my project) .. I'm hoping to build up something in this flavour because i too can no longer stand riding around in a trials only gearing and i'm hardly doing big stuff these days - i just still enjoy getting technical in little rock sections etc - mostly just like to get out on a bike and pedal it. If i see a little rock or something - i might try and trial it You'[d probably need to run a double - 22/28 on front to get a decent chainline from the 22 for a trials usable gear you ?? - Not sure it would be able to get just a 28 to run? I duno but it somethings i'm planning for the future also! An old scchool *MTB trials* bike but with a decent hub n brakes! 32T bashguard and some decent risers! I wasnt actually riding in the 90s ( i started in around 2001) but i do love the spirit of the early school trials and kinda want a piece of it myself.. I rekon it'll be a blast.. Get on it bro .. It's about the ride not the video
  11. MTB Trials! - Build up a 14" frame with a long seatpost and a Q.R seatclamp, a 12-28 x 28 set up, a dmr ring thing and a DCD, Jeans and a hoody and a time machine back to the 90s! It's coming back around - i can feel it :arabia: Edit - but remember to take a decent hub and some brake pads in there with you..
  12. Hey mam, (Presuming you are already making sure the thinner dish is on the inside) Rather than running a dish and curved washer at all; get your file and test your patience at making one singular washer that corrects the angle perfectly on it's own. Other than that.. Get a thinner rim All the best bro, Peace
  13. That switch at 1.10 was awesome. Very well executed stuntery in here. Kawabunga!
  14. Hey man, No i don't actually have any footage of myself whatsoever anymore, exept for one obscure shot of a 360! Geez that must have been about 2005?! On the old Et24! That was the last video i made aswell. Glad you enjoyed it, sorry i havn't got it anymore though Do you still have that beasty homemade 24 tank?
  15. Not just Trials, but MTB Trials!! Ride on Brothers
  16. 700c category in the worlds next year then? Absolutely incredible. Some of that natty stuff aswell was top notch! Just goes to show that you *can* ride anything. But i think eventually you might get a bit of a hunchback on a roadie!. I'm astounded. Although i really hope it doesn't catch on! There's something just not right about it, it makes me feel a bit weird I think it's the lycra. Or the fact it's a road bike 15 ft up a tree!! I cant deal with it maan. Should i now be expecting to see groups of roadies droppin their tyres pressures down the local sections?? My thoughts are with Ashton. May he recieve a strong recovery. Even if it is not enough to ride to the (immense) standard he's achieved but to at least enjoy the simpler ways in life with comfort. Ameen. Peace.

    Getting old...

Mashaallah That sit down trick was incredible! Lovely beard.
  18. Iv'e actually got quite a soft spot for those drop bar 29r ATB steel tourer jobbies.. 29Rs are fabtastic, but imo are best for sitting down and cranking it! So Xc/trails/Tracks/Pot holes *ahem* i mean 'Road'. Feel abit like a wearing a size 14 shoe for tap dancing when it gets techy in the rocky bits. But i guess if youre doing a 50 mile round your not gona be to opposed to just getting off and walking that 20 metre section? You might be willing to forgive the big old thing for the ease it's caused you riding home on zero will power! Round and swing abouts! Eitherwise, enjoy the rides guys..whatever size! PeAce.
  19. Theyre trying to sell you a cotic 26! Or if thats not your thing, a cotic 29! Of course, when discussing x, y is better etc. I think it was a pretty funny response to the notion that the 29r is the be all end all that some people seem to be chanting amongst the showrooms. I heard it was all the tyre companys fault anyway; only did it so the logo could be bigger Could be worse; At least theyre not made of glue and dust!
  20. Haha exactly! I like how he makes an extra effort to tweak everything and whip it about; something thats much harder to do on a 29r! Made the point well i felt. They're just not as fun. Yes you might be able to ' roll over that 2p sized pebble like it's a 5p sized pebble' but at the end of the day it's still all about the 26 if your out riding properly. Yes Cotic.
  21. My experience is that theyre great for Xc and trails and generally sit 'down and pedal it' stuff but are horrible when things get technical; like if you found a tight, slight rooty incline (the kind bit where your trials skills should come in!) then theyre a bit clumbersome. Also if your needing to do some 'ups' like hop up onto rocks or logs etc (which any serious mountain will (should) be needing to do theyre a bit horrible for that too. Theyre nigh on impossible to bunnyhop and imo really are for sitting in the saddle and spinning; so nothing too tech. Theyre FAR better than 26 for things like enduro/ touring/ tidy trails. In the bike shops iv'e worked in most of the 'serious' mountain bikers still rode 26''. The 29'rs are not really ideal when things get steep either, again theyre less manouverable and that quick response to the wheels helps when ur going downhill aswell. My verdict is; great for general weekend trail riders, for enduro type races, most types of xc, but keep them quite level and on the ground. Will never beat the 26rs for 'real' mtbing. * also it's more pumping with the hand pump when your'e out with a flat
  22. Nice pic Ali, lovely tuck! Styled as usual. My pallet effort was old school style - full power, straight on! Full stretch front wheel dipper style, bernards watch type - you know the ones? Alhamdulillah. I remember it well. Though if thats 115cm; it couldn't have been much more that i did on the little wheeler, cos that looks quite big! Although it seems alot of pallets are over 47 long ways Eitherway it was 'a' pallet stood up tall and was a mighty effort and an especially pleasing achievement cos it takes a lot to make a 20" wheel hit my botty. I'm 6ft 5! As mentioned I'm sure the leverage helps. I miss that BMX. I agree - BMX is technically harder but i suppose theres more room to tuck if you can get the technique! I had that little rascal dialled. Anyways 125cm+ is wild. And i'd love to see some pics of this type of pop. Salaam brothers.
  23. I think it's got to be over a bar. Though i'm sure damons got some beasty heights over bars but i think a lot of his biggest are up onto walls. Ali.. You got any pixels on that?! 1.24m is a highly mighty huff! I cleared a pallet long end up on a bmx once upon a time.. Think that was around 47" That was probably the height of my riding days! Bum scraperrr Pallet stood up is a good thing because it falls over nicely when you clip it (Edit; but it still looks scary to ride at!)
  24. Check out a grip like ODI Longneck. Got a nice squishey mushroom style ribbed thing going on and are a little thicker than most. Might help with the pressure issue.. Again, I'm not sying go droppin it 30mm. Just like 10mm dropped, 'slight' forward tilt on bars (maybe) and make sure levers arent tooo far down. And check you grips.. I'm one for the ODI's. Also big steel risers have naturally got that bit more forgiveness in em. You should notice an extra bit of flex just from that.
  25. No problem. I've run thehorrible old school flats that have that awful upsweep. i tend to go with Risers. I actually run Ns District bars on both my Leeson and my Pashley and intend to run the on my Base when it's built up too. Inshaallah. I just get on with them very well and i like Steel bars cos i just go *so* big.. Ahem. Nah theyv'e got that bit more bounce in em so it's quite nice on a rigid street bike. They newer style flats that are like a shallow riser seem nice - always liked the monty style risers myself though never ran them. I agree, it the upsweep thats always the crucial bit for me. Generally been running Districts for years now. i do like them. Glad you appreciated that, thought i'd contribute. Seems you've understood it all already. Basically i agree with Yorkshire dale. long n low for spending time on the back wheel then set your favourite swept bar up in the sweet spot! If you get wrist ache- grip thickness is always something to consider!. Get that just right for the size of you hand grasp too! Lever reach etc. (again sorry to state the obvious!) Please understand though i'm sat here responding because i'm not out riding. Which says alot All the best man. PeAce!
