M596 are better,but stock pads aren´t the best,so I would buy some clarks organics with them.

screw driver would be good enough to find out if it´s loose,to wobble like that it would have to be very very loose.If it isn´t,the problem is elsewhere.

Shimano style BB cups doesn´t have anything else on the outer side of the left cup(unlike right cup which have this "lip" you can grab insted the actual thread).Another option is to use flat screwdriver and hammer to tighten it,it´s not perfect solution but it will be good enough fo show you if the wobble is caused by BB being loose or not.

It would be shit for adult rider,but I´m sure as hell you can´t get better bike for a kid.Damn I hate these spoiled kids lol.
