24" Does sound good ...But im 6 foot and i ride a mod perfectly, I'm not saying he should go straight to 24 ..but give 20" a go first! ..I went from 26 MTB down to 20" and found it a lot easier!

what did you do your arm? You wanna be proper careful riding with it ..
