  1. Its got nothing to do with going to heaven. Its all about me not wanting to do drink, smoke or do drugs. Religion is in no way related to it
  2. Me? Hell yeah I do. I know chemically the same thing goes on in your brain with drugs as with fitness and all that. Id still rather achieve that endorphins hit through riding or going nuts at gigs.
  3. Vegetarians label themselves instead of just saying they don't eat meat and Vegans do the same thing as well. Why cant sober people? Yeah some people do go way overboard with it, but being straight edge means a lot to some people and having something that gives them personal strength and meaning I support fully. If you use the straight edge label to act high and mighty over other people then you are a b*****d
  4. Not getting into a debate on this, but I do not exactly not believe in Evolution, I have very mixed thoughts on it and I sit somewhere in the middle. Put it this way, the book of Genesis is very vague on the creation of everything. This. If I was just a sober person then I would call myself sober, not straight edge.

  6. I enjoy rugby but I know how you feel. Everyone in NZ is OBSESSED with Rugby, insane over it and I hate it so much. People look at your different and judge you for not liking it its that highly praised.
  7. It doesn't offend me at all, but I don't want to breath it in. Smoke from tobacco, weed, imitation weed and all that stinks real bad and if its around I don't want to be for that reason and because I feel very awkward and uneasy around it. But never offended. As with beer, all I want to talk about is photography, bikes, heavy metal and the like. I don't know what parties are like around the world but in NZ parties are just shouting, fights and pointless conversation. I'll hang with people having a few but parties aren't constructive and I get bored and feel out of place so I stay for 15mins and leave
  8. Well yeah I understand that everything we do and consume alters your views and mindset and all that. And I agree 100% with everything you said, I cant add much more to it because I am no way near as knowledgeable on the topic as you would be. Aside the effects that it has on your mind and your "concept of reality" I guess you'd call it, I also avoid the three for health reasons. In saying that I know that the Wendy's I ate tonight is just as bad and that a load of other stuff I eat is terrible for me but I see no point to add extra stress to my system through smoking or drugs. For alcohol I am fully supportive of social drinking and love the idea of mates getting together to watch footy or cook up some steaks and have some beers or girls getting together and having some wine and all that, my religion fully supports drinking. But I draw the line at getting overly drunk, I think its a waste of both money and time. The drinking scene doesn't grab my attention so I avoid it, simple as that. Also its a buttload of carbs to be consuming haha. My views on it can very much be seen as ignorant due to never having experienced it all but it doesn't bother me. I'm not going to go starting fights with people for doing it, I just wont join in and if you light up a joint I am likely to leave
  9. Well I do choose to be, I am a person who promotes it when I discus it with people. But on public forums its easy to come across as a bell end by being the guy that brings it up. To people who know what it is, I am open about it. Otherwise I don't call it that so I don't look like a dick. If that makes sense
  10. To add to the list of lovable (or hateable) traits I have, I've avoided all forms of drugs, booze or smokes for the last four years. I avoid saying the term because of how it can make you sound douchey. But yeah... straight edge... I don't see the point. I love life as it is and it doesn't need boosting with any substances. For me anyway, I can understand the appeal it has for others though
  11. Just this weekend bought an Epiphone Les Paul Custom second hand off someone I knew. Amazing guitar and in great nick too. Cant honestly say I can play guitar properly but I've been playing bass for a while now and am hoping I can both get decent at guitar and at the same time improve my bass playing. Note: Instagram quality picture On a similar but not similar note I have been considering stripping down one of my bass guitars to a stained wood finish. My mate said that being a black guitar wood would be stained too much to get a nice finish out of it but I'm still curious. Anyone done it before that would have advice on what to do?
  12. Sorry to ask questions like this all time time but I suck at finding info on Google. I'm making a lyric video for a band at the moment and I need some help. Its a pretty simple design of the words over top of the album cover, I have animated the cameras and everything and am at the final stage of adding the twitch effect with adjustment layers. I want to have a lesser amount of twitch on the background than the words but I cant for the life of me figure out how to do so, do I need to parent the lyric layers to the adjustment layer? The only thing that happens is that the twitch effect has an effect on both layers which I don't want. Any ideas?
  13. I can validate that this is legit. All real legitimate business people use hotmail
  14. I don't really know why I did, I just did to experiment I guess. I've got others of the same shot but without the light. I thought it kinda looked alright... I dunno
  15. Ah makes sense. Thanks man, I'll give it a whirl at some stage! Last night I went out and did some more star shooting, was more prepared this time (I took a torch with me). This is probably the winner http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/608/lkwr.jpg Also I was recently told about the "600 rule". I'd been shooting 15" at f3.5 and 1600 ISO on my 8mm. By that rule I should be able to shoot 75" without getting star tails which seems a bit extreme but I'll give it a go next time, being able to lower the ISO would be nice as would getting away from f3.5 because it makes everything soft as with my 8mm
  16. Right right right, that makes a lot of sense ha. More questions then, you shot 9 different shots to get the photos? Obviously you are getting at more than just exposing the whole photo correctly given how detailed it all is. would you mind going into more detail about how you shot each picture? I'm intrigued by it all and would love to have a crack at it. Also, merging all 9 together. How? Thanks man, sorry for all the uneducated questions
  17. ^That has to be one of the worst jokes I've ever heard. I love it!
  18. Those Downhill photos are sick! Those landscapes though! I've heard a bit about doing multiple shots for the same photo but never really known what the point was. Care to inform a person? They look amazing
  19. Had a crack at taking some sun set pictures. Was a bit of a challenge because the sun was super bright right the way through so it was hard to expose the ground as well as not over exposing the sun too much. Other than boosting the highlights and shadows and stuff I didn't really edit them, colors are pretty similar to the original. Also, what does everyone use to upload their pictures? The only way I know to get a decent size ruins the quality of the image. http://imageshack.us/a/img826/5079/slgf.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img835/1203/6ykb.jpg
  20. There were the remains from Seances and crap like that, candles and stuff. All kiddy kinda things, still a bit spooky though
  21. What I would give to have some interesting places to go to, I really don't know where I can and its a pain because my days off work are so boring and they could be so much more interesting. That aside though, here's a few pics that I enjoy. This place was so creepy, I'd driven past it quite a few times and finally decided to take some pictures of it. From the outside it was fine, kinda nervous stepping in because I didn't want some crazy hobo to come stab me or something. There wasn't. I didn't however expect to be greeted by several spray painted pentagrams and inverted crosses and other signs of Satanic type objects. Was kinda scary to be in there and was certainly glad to leave it.
  22. Where do they hide their massive nuts?
  23. If any of you were curious at all to what I was making, I can show you. Warning! This is a metal song made up by me and my mates "band called bLuud. Do not take any of this seriously because its a tribute song we wrote for some twins 21st birthday. However if you do like it then that is also good. But if you want to mute it then feel free. Also any feedback is welcome, there is stuff that I could've done better but it was my first attempt and I ran out of time But yeah, here is what I pretty much bought my new computer to make....
