  1. Cheers people. But surely you see where my concerns came from? Having a CPU reader that looks like a spedo that has red at the high end of it can lead one to believe what I believed right? haha. As far as I'm aware, red is a bad color in situations like that........... But yeah, pretty stoked with the spec on it
  2. Ah right right right. Thanks for the advice man, I shall use it
  3. Yeah all my programs (Adobe Master Collection) are on the SSD, the dude told me to do that. Thanks man, I wanted to get something that will hold me up for a while and it seems to be doing the job so far, not that Ive done much at all on it. Yeah it does everything I want it to do, I was just curious if it was bad that it was running like that, stoked its a good thing ha
  4. Thank you guys! I was kinda getting a bit worried here. Kinda looked at it from the perspective that if its bad to sit your car/motorbike at full revs then it must be somewhat the same for your computer hahahahaha. Yeah like I said, not very smart with the computer jazz. Well I'm glad to know that I should be up around that mark. Luke, I don't know how in depth you want to go with model names or whatever but I can copy down what it says on the order form for you... Processor Intel Haswell Core i7 - 4770 3.4GHz RAM 2x Kingston 8gb RAM 1600MHz DDR3 - 1600/PC3 - 12800 Solid State Drive Samsung 120GB 840 Series 2.5" Solid State Drive HDD Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12 HDD This thing Cooler Master G700 Series 700W 80Plus Bronze PSU Graphics Card Sapphire HD7870 2GB 256Bit PCI-E 3.0 / Direct X 11.1 Misc. Shiet Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit Big ass 23" LG IPS LED Monitor that I am glad I got instead of the 27" I was considering but couldn't afford. Hope that makes more sense to you than it does me... Thanks people (again)
  5. Hey people, I recently got a computer built up that cost me a butt load of money. Being fairly dumb on the topic of good parts and stuff, I took a lot of advice from the guy at the shop. I don't doubt the computers speed at all and think its rad, but I am a little curious if I haven't done something right. I brought it so I could do a lot of video editing and graphics given my notebook being pretty crappy at it. The first thing I've been doing on it is making a lyric video in this fashion (The guy who made this video made a tutorial about how to make them) Ive got to the stage where I have animated all the word movements and placement and am now messing around with the camera movements. Doing a few test exports to see how it looks with the song with the motion blur and everything on the computer is pushing around 80-85% CPU power and 40-50% RAM. I feel like the RAM levels are alright (I have 16gb), but the CPU level seems to be so high and I don't know if it should be? I don't know if I've not got some random settings somewhere not right, given me being a noob with computer tech stuff. So yeah, there is a question in there, hope you know what I mean? If its any help, here are the computers specs But like I said, I don't know if I've done anything wrong, they set up the computer at the shop and tested the parts and I picked it up. I forgot to ask if I need to and ended up putting in all the CD's I got with it and installing them (Cant remember the names but they were for the graphics card and other parts inside it). Would installing them have goofed up anything they had done? I have no idea.... Thanks people tl;dr Feel like my CPU shouldn't be running at such a high percentage when exporting After Effects graphics
  6. These guys are so annoying but hilarious
  7. Pretty sure I first saw it here years ago but a worthy repost Then its asbestos flaygon you too you too
  8. May as well post this one I got that other night too. Kinda alright
  9. Thanks for the feedback man, glad you reckon its alright. In cropping it, would you keep the same ratio or just do what looks right? I plan on going out again with a light so I can actually see what I'm doing and hopefully I can frame shots better. And clean my lens hahahaha
  10. About 6 pages back I asked a few questions about taking photos of the stars. I'd been meaning to go out and use the advice I was given (Was brilliant advice by the way, thanks heaps much) but had never gotten around to it. Until tonight! What an amazing experience it was, I don't even care that my photos were kinda average and framing of them was pretty crap because I couldn't see much. Being out in the 5C weather underneath a million stars was crazy fun and humbling. Got this one that I think is pretty good for a first try! Let me know what you think.
  11. That video was awesome! Kinda stink that they filmed it all in parts and wasn't actually a race between the two
  12. On the topic of youtube problems, does anyone get the problem where if they click inside the video to do anything like pause it or change the volume or anything it gets, I guess stuck in the video? So if I push the down arrow to scroll down it will turn the volume down? I have to click outside the browser and back in to fix it. Nobody else I know gets it but I use FF and no one else does...
  13. Dude! Explain the technique you used to me! That photo looks so insane and I'd love to know how you done it
  14. Holy damn this is the best thing I've ever seen
  15. Thought I would add a few of some of the pictures I've taken. I kinda edited the living crap out of them but I am learning to shoot better so they requiring less editing more and more. I'll do links because I didn't resize them very well and it's going to take up 50% of the interweb if I load the pictures to TF, I hope that isn't a problem... http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/782/img9007copy.png http://imageshack.us/a/img593/5884/img8960copy.png http://imageshack.us/a/img16/9792/img8946copy.png http://imageshack.us/a/img832/7370/img8912copy.png Like I said, heavy editing but I kinda think it doesn't look too bad... I dunno, you tell me. This one has to be my favorite picture I've taken. I think I've only bumped up the exposure a tiny bit, otherwise it is edit free.
  16. I live in New Zealand and know piss all about most things to do with the way my own country runs this kinda thing, let alone in the UK. Yet some how I did better than some of you people that live in the UK! I got 10 out of 24 (42%) correct in 05 minutes 17 seconds
  17. What the hell kinda song is that at 1:10?
  18. I wanna know what TURKWISE is

  20. So very very random but also interesting
  21. Thanks heaps dude! That photo looks so amazing! I live in a town of 4000 to 6000 and there is a place i have in mind about 7km out of town that I really want to try. I can reach 6400ISO but my lens doesnt go down to f/2.8, the best I can do is f/3.4. Which really doesn't mean a huge amount other than running at about 20-25 seconds? I always shoot RAW for the very reason, makes editing that much easier. What editing software do you recommend I may as well ask? I "purchased" PS Elements and it seems to be doing alright for me so far. The other thing... I had a bit of a look but I couldn't really find a decent map/graph/list/whatever of what star formations and stuff are around at what time of the month... Any help there? But thanks heaps man, really helpful
  22. Has anyone done much in the ways of Astrophotography? I've been really keen on it and I had a small play last night on the road but was getting crazy colors due to light pollution. I am using a Canon 600D with a 18-200mm f/3.5 Tamron lens and I have, but did not use last night, a speedlight flash doodad. What color temperature should I be using? Last night I was getting red clouds and green street lamps and crap like that and it looked alright but I'd rather not have it. Faster shutter speed and higher ISO or slower shutter speed and lower ISO? My internet research suggests avoiding longer than 30 second shutter to avoid star movement What focal distance should I be aiming for? Best time of night? Hope fully you guys can give me some pointers. I'll be sure to post results afterward EDIT. Also, I'm looking into getting a fisheye lens. Don't want to spend a fortune on one. 8mm seems to be the best looking. Any ideas/experiences?
