  1. I'd love to come along if its between 31st march- 17th april. Cant ride at the weekend though
  2. I am from Cromer and I'm a long serving member of the Eastcoasttrias 'crew', which is unfortunately dead these days But I go to uni at Brighton so only come back to Norfolk in the holidays. Even then I dont get to ride very often as I'm either working or on GF duties. There used to be such an awesome scene around Cromer, Norwich, Yarmouth and Lowestoft- so many riders, and large group rides going on every weekend. The majority of people have grown out of it these days, and those that are left dont have the time or energy to ride anymore. Marge (jimbo_limbo) still has his bikes but hasnt ridden it for a long time as far as I know. I miss the old days
  3. Im really pleased for you! I presume you were holding back until the night of the big day. Well done for sticking to the bible and jesus christ. now get married and take her to pleasure town! (I hope thats not the only reason your taking her up the aisle though!)
  4. I'd certainly agree with the points about more freedom making being older a lot better. Its so good to know that within reason you have the ability to go anywhere and do anything, when you want- you can make your own decisions. I hated being told what to do when i was younger. I'm not so sure about responsibility being a good thing, but I guess that is down to character and experience. I'm just too lazy and laid back to want lots of responsibilities, and being in education most of my life havent had to deal with real responsibility at work yet (thats going to change next year though) Maybe when I get some it will change my opinion, but I just dont know yet.
  5. what counts as young and what doesnt? I think its more to do with responsibility and attitude in life rather than how old you are. Its probably best to accept that once your out of school/ college/ uni your never going to be as care free as before all that, so its not really worth wasting time feeling down about it. But until you've paying a mortgage, have a "career", and a long term gf/ wife even, there is still plenty of time to be young. A lot of people saying this are like 17, 18, 19- surely you cant feel that old I'm 21 and wouldnt class myself as old, but I guess Im lucky as Im at uni living off a large loan, and not getting up til after Trisha I have worked full time though before and do agree it can kind of suck, and Im not really looking forward to it again but its inevitable.
  6. For the most part a few beers and social drinking is good stuff cant beat a pub with a good aptnosphere and good people around you, having a drink or two. Getting smashed can still be a lot of fun, with hilarious concequences- even if your the only ones laughing! Definitly wouldnt do it all the time, but now and again its always a lot of fun what about if its a themed night, does that make it more acceptable? Like we played pub golf last Thursday and made it round 9 holes (pubs) in a very short space of time, dressed as golfers. That = untold carnage. Without that amount of alcohol down me you'd never normally find me break dancing on top of the bar at weatherspoons. Everyone was beyond smashed- but it had a point, and was great fun!
  7. hmmm cant say its ever bothered me before. A lot of people seem to be getting a huge swarm of killer, toxic, mutant bees under their bonnets on the forum as of late- guess it must be the crap weather. If such trivial things are annoying you it must be time you got off the forum and did something else!
  8. Have you been watching Sir Alan of Partridgeshire by any chance ?
  9. British Bulldog and locking the teacher in the cupboard were personal favourites at my school.
  10. rumour has it that all drinks are half price in "Australian" bar Walkabout today, and there are quite a few of them about the place. A good excuse to have one too many
  11. Who ever mentioned the internet hit the nail on the head imo. Trials Forum has changed the sport in many ways and the whole sponsorship issue is just one of them. Back in the days when TF didnt exsist, and before Trialskings and all that MBUK and the comp scene was the only real way of getting any exposure. Back then it was all about the Martins, Akrigg, the Tongues and Ian Cooper- the only ones that regularly appeared in the magazines. To the newbies like me they were gods, and even more so because they were the only ones in the spotlight unlike today where you can see tonnes of amazing riders- just a quick click on the Pics and Videos section and thats all it takes. Couple that with the fact that every 16 year old kid seems to be launching a Trials company of some sort there are a lot of minor sponsorship deals out there to be had now. Its easy for them to get free publicity through videos on the forum, so it becomes easier and easier to pick up a basic deal. Just look at Viz (are they still around) I think at one point every other member on here was supposedly sponsored by them?! it just isnt the same as it used to be.

    Chavs!

is he or isnt he a chav ? It was mildy amusing to label someone a chav about five years ago, but now its just turned into a joke. I cant believe people seem to take it seriously as if its some kind of official social grouping that should be listed in the encylopedia Britannica or something. Ever since the tabloid rags picked up on it the whole thing has got more and more ridiculous. Wear a pair of nikey socks and youll probably get labeled a chav these days. The whole "chav" thing is complete and utter crap. Its not even worth thinking about. Dave "The Chav" Oli says yes too.
  13. From the album: Random

    yay
  14. cant really remember much of 2005 at the moment to be honest 2004 was better.... 2006 will top that though
  15. crap! I checked the filename but it didnt come up on my computer as i attached it from the post. You spoil sport
  16. well i did say it was easy! Next then.....
  17. Nice and easy...... [attachmentid=2561]
  18. are you talking to me? I only looked at the pic you posted and it was a fairly vague guess. Maybe i should have read the rest of the thread
  19. wild guess- clockwork orange?
  20. Stay in with the gf drinking the (cheap) champagne I bought her for christmas. Presents that you can share = fantastic idea Then about 11 o'clock probably head down to the local pub for the "big" countdown which nobody ever seems to bother doing anymore as they are far too pissed. So i am half staying in/ half going out this new years
  21. I went to see King Kong after the months and months of hype surrounding it. I wasnt too bothered about seeing to be honest, but my mates were going so thought I may as well. I was just wondering what people thought of it ? Was it worth the hype? Personally I enjoyed it, although the first 1hr - 1hr 1/2 seemed to drag on for too long. When it eventually did start kicking off it was well worth the wait though. There was no ridiculous Hollywood ending and even though it was clearly a mainstream blockbuster they didnt over do it or turn it into a tackfest. Im definitly glad I went to see it, but wouldnt watch it again for a while anyway. Interesting to see Jamie Bell (Billy Elliott) in there to! The big question though..... how did they get Kong back to New York on that battered old boat
  22. Inspired by the one and only..... Gervais [attachmentid=2516]
  23. It doesnt matter if he is family or not- he is a yank. Would noooo happen.
  24. I saw it at the cinema. Was quite good but far from great. You just can't take it seriously with that shockingly cringe worthy attempt at a cockney accent one of the characters has. Then there is the fact that Frodo baggins would not survive more than 10 seconds against some of Britains hardest football thugs. I thought the fight scenes were excellent if not a little over the top like at the start when they are rioting on the streets (but hey its entertainment not reality) It had too many flaws though. I dont know much about football gangs but there is no way, in any circumstances that a member of one gang would change sides and tip off the rivals! And they would never accept a yank into the group. But if you forget all that Its not too bad. Football factory over Green Street anyday. Still worth a watch though
