  1. cant beat a pint of blood once and a while- but its too bloody expensive for a pauper like myself! However im saving my pennys up for next Friday Guinness hat 2006 here we come.
  2. which type of slippery nipple as there are quite a few different ways of making them i think I always had it in a double shot glass with baileys and sambuca, and always used to kneck a couple of these before a night out down the clubs in Vancouver a few years ago. Doesnt go down too badly at all once you have a few beers(ale/ lady drinks whatever) in you already. Has a very good effect thats for sure I'm not a great fan of baileys either so it cant be that bad if i managed to stomach it Nbongo juice for the win!
  3. eh. current affairs in history ?! how does that work
  4. Unfortunately most courses arent really geared up to being much use when you get out of education- not just Business Studies. Almost everyone that has done a placement year in Business have come out saying they'd learnt more in that one year of work than the last 6 years of doing Business from GCSE onwards. Its more about getting the grade really, and as you say GCSE Business is fairly good in that respects. I got into Business because I have always been interesting in setting up my own Business too. Whilst it doesnt help you with that directly, it still gives you some good basic knowledge and starts you thinking like a Businessman. I think learning about stuff like the stock exchange is too advanced/ in depth for GCSE level, and there isnt much point as you need money before you can invest in it anyway. Also once your straight out of school your only 16? You cant start up your own Business until your 18, and even then it would be bloody hard at that age- so stuff about setting your own one up wouldnt be of any help immediately anyway.
  5. I'd say that the GCSE Business course is much easier in comparison with History, and that if your fairly bright, put enough work in (shouldnt be that much) then its fairly easy to get a good grade in. If you dont have any aspirations to take any of these subjects on to a higher level you may as well take Business for a better chance of getting a good grade. Once/ If you have A-Levels/ Degree then what subjects (excluding Maths, English, Science which are all important to have) you took are almost irrelevant by then anyway. P.S I have taken GCSE & A-Level (AS & A2) Business Studies and I'm now studying for a degree in Business with Marketing. This was down to personal preference having found out at GCSE level that it was my strongest and favourite subject. I didnt let the fact that there are more Business graduates than there are Business jobs sway my decisions as I wouldnt be able to survive doing a subject that I had no passion or interest in, even if thats where the jobs lie. Just going to have to come out of Uni with better skills, knowledge and experience than all the competing Business graduates I'll be against- which is what my placement year should be good for.
  6. Not again! Keep Partridge out of this "Did you guys get drunk last night? I did cos Im a bloody bloke! I was Sick all over the sink" Shit. broke my own rule.
  7. White lightning/ omega/ strongbow cider (2lt bottle) is the drink of choice for a 15 year old. Usually drunk in the park or at any other spot with quick get away from police/ busy body members of the public. Eventually one time you'll go past your limits, end up paraletic and never be able to even sniff tramp juice cider again. Then you can move onto proper drink Surely thats standard for any 15 year old?
  8. As a nation the British (Irish, Australian, NZ etc) drink way more than Americans, and binge drinking is far more part of our culture than over there. I know you guys like your burgers and soft drink in excess but alcohol ? If you can take 20 pints of beer in one night out then you can either handle your drink like a 20st football thug, or your an alchoholic. edit- oh and Lager is my drink of choice, but I get onto Vodka Redbulls if I need a turbo charge usually if Im going clubbing.
  9. Yeah 40-50 drinks and my hangovers usually start. Havent you got "stomach pumped" and "hangovers" mixed up there ? or are you drinking thimbles ?
  10. Yay cool video I only watched the June 2004 Plymouth vid so far but will check the others out later. Do you have any older videos? I want to see proper old school- on your Zero or Brisa! Oli (canT_ride my housemate) has some really cool videos from 2003 or 2004 that I keep trying to get him to put up online. Dont have anywhere to upload them though.
  11. Very nice steed. Not the same as when they were under the Crescent brand name, with the Orange colour scheme though- i loved that frame Even though it was designed years ago it still looks really cool by todays standards. Something different to look at unlike all the boring, long, low and silver bikes of today. Are there any Crescent Ilions with original paint scheme still knocking around ? I know Pete Wrong had one but his was rewelded and sprayed black ?
  12. X-Ups off the end of drops. Or has that been mentioned already ?
  13. That could be fun I still think Id rather ride inter though even if its just for the first one i do. I can always move up if its too easy should I enter again. In the last 12 months I have probably ridden no more than 5 times, and as for my fitness I really enjoyed the level of riding on the inter route at YMSA last year. i didnt feel like Id run a marathon by the end of each section, I could get to the end of all the sections unlike when I rode expert, I didnt run out of time like when I rode expert and I had more fun than when Id finished on like 70- 90 dabs ( )doing expert at Essex or where ever. They were still challenging even though I could probably push myself more if i really wanted to. Im just not into riding enough these days to go for expert
  14. Cool beans. Hopefully Oli will be coming with me and we will drive there in his 1980's Mini Metro How much is the entry fee? I like the fact there is no membership fee as after ACU licence, entry and travel costs it adds up to a lot just to enter one competition I like the sound of the laid back ampnosphere. YMSA was a great comp but it seemed quite serious for a lot of people. Nothing wrong with that but thats not really me.
  15. I am seriously tempted to start doing a few comps again, and while I'd love to ride YMSA Its a long way from me and will cost too much. The Hampshire series should only be a few hours drive away, and I have never entered one before so would be something different. Was just wondering a few things about them.... On the biketrialuk site the comp locations are all venue names like "Hut Hill", but there is no mention of what town/ area/ village they're in, so I cant multimap it. Where abouts are they ? What is the standard of riding/ sections there ? I used to compete (badly ) in expert about three years ago when I rode EBTC, but barely ride anymore so will probably drop back down to inter. What kind of sections are they? Is it mainly muddy banks and logs etc similar to Essex comps. Or are there rocks and man made sections thrown in for good measure ? any other views/ opinions on the Hampshire Comps would be much appreciated P.s Im thinking of entering round 3 at the end of April.
  16. jeez how many holidays do you go a year? I swear you went snowboarding about 2 months ago. You lucky bugger
  17. I've been planning this for weeks Just had my pizza for dinner to give me plenty of time for the production line of pancakes I'll be making before going out. Toppings wise I have Sugar Maple Syrup Strawberys Squirty Anchor Cream Mini Marshmallows Lemon Juice Just going to try out a few of them.
  18. One of the best ones was the various braking trends, around the time of the Trialskings. Holroyd and co run Maguras F+R...... so does every one else Holroyd and co switch to XTR vees F+R...... Few months later every other bike has the same setup, and the forum is raving about them. Maguras are now "cheese" brakes Holroyd and co switch to Avid vees F+R...... Few months later every other bike has the same setup, and the forum is raving about them. XTRs are now as good as the chocolate fireguard. Holroyd and co switch to a front disc...... Few months later every other bike has the same setup, and the forum is raving about them. No body can understand how riders managed before without the Front Disc then back to Maguras F+R. And the circle continues. I think that was one of the worst periods for trends, and sheep-ish behaviour. Trialskings- Planet X sponsorship also worked a trick
  19. I beg to differ. Its easy saying that now whilst its not reality and never lilkely to occur anyway, and you dont have such worries. I dont see how you could even begin to imagine how it would feel like winning such an amount, becoming instantly rich, and how that would affect you. Not saying that youd turn into a materialistic whore and start buying Ferraris left right and centre, but I guarantee you wouldnt be able to put it in the bank and live pretty much as normal. If you won, you would change.
  20. Search Keyword: "Olympics"
  21. haha thats great! I remember reading that now, many years ago. Cant beat the DCD chain device, and CRUD guards for a bit of old skool. The Martins had them, therefore they were essential kit!
  22. Yeah you wont be able to get an overdraft with one of them, but you can easily get a current account if your 18. Just go into your branch, fill the forms out and you should be able to get one the same day (just have to wait for Visa card through post) then you can get an overdraft if you ask them. Not sure about Halifax, but I was using my overdraft and got up to about £900 (Im a student) on my Nationwide account for like 6 months and only got charged a small amount every month. Didnt get hassle asking to pay it off either. But obviously thats not a great idea if you can avoid it. Move to Nationwide. That Howard is a twat
  23. who do you bank with and what account do you have at the moment? Is it a kids (under 18) one or do you have a proper current account yet? I'm with Nationwide and got a flex account when i was 18, and you can request for an overdraft of up to £1000 with no hassle at all- no credit checks, just done on the spot. You should be able to get an overdraft of this size from most banks I would have thought.
  24. Happy days. Speaking of which what ever did happen of Shaun from X-Street. My guess is that he packed it in and concentrated on the navy ? I remember the excitement of a trials specific company being set up, and the amazing Taboo frames and forks (ha!)
  25. Im going with my gf to see them at Portman Road Ipswich. I couldnt believe they were playing so close to home, and that theyd play in Ipswich! Should be a good day out. Anyone know who is supporting them? I guess its a bit early for that though.
