  1. I'm in need of new wheels to tie me over for a little while, And the Pro wheelset seems the only cheap option. I'll be riding in the dry so the open bearings don't really bother me, It's just I'm not too keen on the lack of fun bolts. It's only temporary to get me riding, and I'll be getting better wheels later on in the year, but would like some opinions. What's everyones opinion on these wheels, are they any good?
  2. Yeah, forgot to say I'm getting the bar mounts made, and I'll check out your PM now.
  3. I see what you're saying with the weight thing, but like 100 quid cheaper than tarty? Probably a misprint.
  4. Just came across this online store - http://www.hbtrials.com/home.php Has anyone got any experience with them, or for that matter even heard of them? EDIT: Echo SL TI headset - $80 = £50.74. This can't be right, can it?
  5. From what I recall, you can't replace the levers on new maggies. That or it's a bugger to replace.
  6. I'll need to borrow a couple different lever blades for moulding, More details here.
  7. Well obviously I can't chuck out loads of test stuff as matey will only be making a few parts to see if they're any good before making more. But saying that, anyone who rides quite often would be perfect to test parts as I'm not riding at the moment due to building a bike up, only needing a rear wheel!
  8. Fair play, but my reason for saying that was the onza carbon bars are outer carbon construction as opposed to full carbon, and after having a quick look on tarty have realised that the higher range of carbon bars are fully carbon instead. As for stems, I haven't seen a full carbon one released yet so just presumed that companies haven't found a way of making a carbon constructed stem strong enough. Does anyone have more expierience with carbon? And would anyone have any tips with trying out making a carbon stem? If you want a longer hs33 lever then just say. I'm sure something could be worked out, maybe get one made for you to be a test pilot... Yeah, it's more a learning experience, using different shapes, sizes etc... He's not doing it to make a quick buck, he just offered to make me up some stuff in exchange for testing (and obviously a bit of cash), so I'll be testing parts out for a while to see if they're any good. Does anyone have any arguments as to why snail cams wouldn't be suitable in carbon?
  9. The bracket that holds the bars in the stem, and I don't think carbon would be suitable for a stem, maybe the reason no carbon stems are available for the trials market.
  10. Nope, he's got all his machines and tools at home. What would be an expected price (or what you would pay) for one that will hold a normal brass barrel instead of having to buy a different one?
  11. HALP!! I'm going to upgrade my cpu soon, I'm currently running: Pentium D 2.66Ghz 2.5GB ram (soon to be 4) Geforce 8600 GTS overclocked Windows vista ultimate (possibly windows 7 ultimate 64bit if needs be) I'm going to upgrade my cpu, to this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160547581585&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Will this make a noticeable difference at all? (obviously with the extra ram) Also it says "instruction set 64bit" - does this mean it will perform/need to run on a 64 bit OS ?
  12. A friend of mine thinks he can make carbon levers etc... I'm going to have one made for my hope to test it out and whatnot to make sure they're up to scratch before any are sold if it gets that far. and I'll put some pics up too. I'm sure there would'nt be any problems with making an hs33 lever either. While he's at it I'll get him to make me some bar mount brakets for the hope, a stem bracket and some snail cams to see what's what. So... If they're cheap enough would anyone interested?
  13. So I got bored and took a drill to my levers... By l33th3tr33 at 2011-02-25 By l33th3tr33 at 2011-02-25 By l33th3tr33 at 2011-02-25 Sorry for the crap quality, blame apple...
  14. IMO I wouldn't cut any knobbles off my creepy crawler, I find it needs all the grip it can get. But I'm investing in a sticky next so if you do end up cutting it up I'd love to know the difference. That sounds awesome! I'll keep an eye out for some pics if you do it, and if it turns out good enough a little guide too. Seriously, good luck with that!
  15. Was just wondering, Is it worth modifying parts, either aesthecically or to make them lighter? It's just that when the weather's crap, I always tend to mess around with something either on the bike or something else in the garage, and the weather is pretty crap right now... I'm thinking of something to do to my hope levers, but not too sure. What has everyone done to their own parts in the past? Did the part last or just break?
  16. My browser is being a tard and wont load the page, would someone kindly put the pics on here?
  17. Will it not get loose at all? It seems pretty stiff, only about half a mil movement, if that. Just in case I need to keep an eye on it.
  18. As the title says, my try all 108.9 freewheel has cracked on the spot welds located on the seal, Is it repairable? Would solder blobs or chemical metal hold? Any suggestions?
  19. How do you find the rise of the stem with the medium bb height? Looks quite high.
  20. Nice to see a blade! Bit colour happy IMO. Maybe get a different colour chainstay protector?
  21. Chainreaction has loads of discs starting really cheap just ordered one myself.
