  1. well i been thinking i might not because i ride a 24" so i do street and im not the best at proper trials lol and they also have raves down there so it would probably get ruined : / chris
  2. i am looking for a new stem and im realy liking the blue hope stem, not sure witch to get it in, 90mm or 110 ? it would be on a 24" and what other blue stems are there about for trials ?
  3. did they have god pads on ? i recently got a new bike with a v on the back and it was rubbish to start with and then i got some new pads the other day and now i can hold all my weight on the back wheel with one finger and Im only 14 so Im not mr muscle man. chris
  4. i would say vees, more common these days and you can get loads of different pads. if your out on a ride i exspect there would be a rider there with a vee setup so he might carry spares with him so if something brakes then you could borrow some thing off him. its basicly personal preference, have you rode a bike with a good vee setup ?
  5. i have just been thinking of where to do trials and make something that wont get recked. i just thought about making something in a old derilicked barn on the edge on shrivenham (wiltshire) near highworth. any one ever done anythink like this ? take some wood down there in the back of a van or truck with a fiew mates and make a course or something. if anyone lives near highworth or just in wiltshire then send me a email or something and add me on msn. chris
  6. there the pads that i have got. very good but when the rim gets a bit wet and it is wet all the time at the moment they slip a bit and there on the back : / do you think if i got the avid lever with the red adjuster knob on it would it make a lot of difference ? and would maybe just getting a file and filing down the walls on the rim to get the paint off, would that make a difference ? wont be as harsh as a grind but would get rid of the paint.
  7. would grinding your rim with v pads be ok ? would it make any difference ? i got pads that are like the inspired ones but not lol chris
  8. no ashima make loads od different pads trials, road, bmx, mountain bike, dirt jump. have a look at them, they might not be amazing but there good if you ask me but i am new so im not completely sure what other pads are like but they hold up better than my hope mini does on the back of my dmr. chris
  9. i have been looking for some pads on the internet and the other day i was in town near a bike hop so i decided to go have a look and see what they got. whent in and asked and they came out with some ashima ASAT48V pads ( nice short name) they look like the inspired pads but only cost £10,nice and sticky, can hold all my wait on a back hop with 1 finger on the leaver and im only 14 so im not super muscle man lol. i would definately recomend these, heres a link http://www.discountcyclesdirect.co.uk/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=229&products_id=8799&osCsid=bvnufzhishq chris
  10. got some new pads, i had never heard of them but there amazing, there a clear compound and look just like the inspired but there made by ashima and where only £10 from my local shop. stcky as ever, can hold all my weight on back wheel with no effort and im only 14 so im not super strong in the arms. i would definately recomend them chris
  11. might invest in some lol again, thanks for your help chris
  12. was out and about on saturday and went to do a pedel hop and sliped off the pedal and it came and smacked me in the shin and i have a nice lump and two holes in my shin and then earlyer today i was out on my own being a loaner riding and hoped over a chain and when i landed my foot slipe off the pedal, smacked the same shin again a bit further up and i was down and gave up for the day after that, im now defo wearing shin pads lol what i did wasnt that bad but my f*cking god did it hurt lol chris
  13. what are the plazmatic crv's like ? they got some on ebay for £12 buy it now chris
  14. oh lol no, i will stick with the cheap and cheerfull football pads and get a v brake setup or something. I know this is off subject but anyone know of some good v brake pads ? what are the inspired phat ones like ? or the rock mans or the crv's is it ? thanks for your help. chris
  15. i cant find the ones on tarty bikes, might just go with football shin pads, means i dont have to spend money on shin pads and i can buy something else for my bike instead chris
  16. spose so, might just use my football ones then lol thanks chris
  17. i have recently started trials and have already smacked my shins a fiew time and they hurt lol. any advice on what shin pads to get ? chris
  18. i have done a bit of down hill in the past on my dmr and done dirt jump then went to bmx for a while and now got three bikes, dmr for dj and dh, bmx for bmx lol and my new ashton effect for trials/street. chris
  19. got my new bike not long ago so i was thinking of maybe going out for a ride. any one up for a ride in swindon on the half term week (not next week the week after) ? never been on a ride so dont know swindon so if someone tells me where would be best to go and what time would be best then i will be more than happy to go there, as long as its near swindon or in swindon and if you say which day your free or date then it will be set on the day/date that most people are free on. chris
  20. i have just bought a ashton effect and to be honest i dont think its worth £500, the rear sprocket is to small so the chain ships and the front brake was rubish (lucky my brother let me borrow his hayes 9) but the back brake was prety good for a standard vee. do you think its a good bike for my first trials bike ?
  21. i might look at chainging the rear sprocket. alot cheaper hehe, i think i would rather spend £5 on a sprocket and get good gearing and fix my problem rather than spend £20 on a chain tensioner and just fix the problem.
  22. i have just got my ashton effect and the chain is skipping on the rear sprocket, would it be better to get a 15t rear sprocket as the gearing is a bit low but would i still need a double wheel tensioner for that gearing (22-15) ? chris
  23. have look on tarty bikes, they got a echo one http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...category_id=106 chris
  24. ye but its not street though lol its weird. i will hope fully be making a video soon and i will include some clips in it. i spose its a bit like street trials. im not sure, will get some pics up soon or just a short video of me doing a fiew things.
  25. have a look at this http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media.php?group=guides&id=14 it will tell you everything you need to know. chris
