  1. Haha yeh I agree on the 'old school' look! Quite like it. I was listening to this song throughout the evening, so thought it appropriate. I'm pleased you notice an improvement, as it can only get better once i'm fully used to the bike!
  2. Thanks man, I quite enjoy watching it back as well compared with some of my other videos. Was quite fun to make on my own! I agree on a certain level with this; but I think James' most recent work with me has become better on that front. Should be fun filming from now on anyway; he has got a fish eye for some close up shots (don't worry we won't film the whole video with it)
  3. So I dug out an old camera to film a few clips of the Arcades first proper ride; and here's what I managed to lay down. Nothing too special; just me getting used to the new bike, and playing around *OLD* camera, so no quality hate.
  4. I filed the tab remnants down, and then used some wet and dry to get rid of any scoring. A lathe was not used as there would have been no easy way to hold it in a chuck or collet without making up a jig. You say you've used a lathe George? Probably best to get the terminology right first... #inb4haterzgunnahate
  5. Looking sick George, you're riding has improved ten fold as well! Pleasure to ride with, some competition
  6. Was going to say, 18/19 seems very big for trials
  7. The dishing of it won't effect the strength of the build much at all. Being such a small, wide wheel as it is. But yes, i could have cut down the end cap on the non-drive side a bit, and allow about 5-10mm of extra room. But that would have arisen other problems with the freehub body not being stable with only one set of bearings holding such a wide distance from the shell.
  8. The non drive side is as standard. I have left it like that so you can run a disc if you so wanted to otherwise, whats the point ay?
  9. Love it! I can most likely modify one if you want it done in the future
  10. You'll be able to run a disc yes, the hub is still fully functional I will have to dish the wheel a lot when building it, but as said above; won't effect the wheel strength. I hope George has a variety of spokes
  11. If anyone knows where I could get trade price parts, I could indeed make a few
  12. Right, this is the finished product. I've obviously done it differently to Danny, as I don't have a huge spacer next to it I am pretty confident it will work, and have clamped it up right to check and all seems well. Time to build the wheel and test it properly I guess. If anyone wants an exploded view of this I shall endeavour to do some pictures tomorrow. I've completely changed the inside of the freehub body.
  13. I've over come the bearing problem, and had to do a lot more to it to get it to compress when you do it up, whilst having room for the lockring. Cutting the thread now, and I've already tested it. - should work.
  14. I have come up with a solution that I think will work. We will see if I am right today when I put it together, fingers crossed it will work!!
  15. I would like people to know that this video was created in preparation of me having my wrist operated on, on friday. I wanted to go brakeless for a bit because I enjoy a bit of change in my riding, plus it allows certain tricks to be performed easier. There was no point/time trying to learn and make a 'serious, proper' video as I will soon be in a cast for 8 weeks; and I wanted to have a bit of fun filming something different so people still know i'm riding. As you know I haven't made a 'proper' video in a long while, this is because I recently found out i broke my wrist in May last year; and have been living with the pain for about 7-8 months now. Which has stopped me having as much fun, and improving on my riding. I hope to change this when I get back on the bike after i recover Besides, i don't rid because i want to learn more tricks and film them. I think people forget that riding is all about having FUN; not about trying to be the best or learning the biggest/best tricks. So in a way, I think this video is a better representation of what I do then any of my others.
  16. Hmmmmm backflip, bar spin; and hop whip flat! My life would then be complete. If all of those tricks were in one line as well
  17. I run them front and rear, and they are sooooooo much better than the hopes. (in my opinion) The hopes lacked hold and bite, especially on the front. The saints feel amazing as well!

    Tar

I used to use tar all the time with a Vee brake on Coust pads, it worked very well but I he'd the way it tends to 'stick' and then stopped using it. I found on a smooth rim, if you clean it with acetone or brake cleaner; then the brake works amazingly and it quite loud as well!
  19. I found that when I ran the pads further away, the louder they were... I'm guessing because this allows the pads to vibrate more as was said above, as if they were ran further in, there would be less flex and be more rigid. Hence, less noise.
  20. Luuuurrrvveeeee it, can't wait to have a do at 'dem to fronts'! Is that my cross over you are using on the rear? If so, I made that especially for you :3
  21. Cheers guys, i've brought some Shimano fluid anyway just to be on the safe side
  22. hey guys, just purchased some shimano saint brakes, and was wondering if the Mangura royal blood mineral oik would work with them? And if so, does it affect the feel and lever control? Cheers! Euan x
