  1. Xen all the way, they look so sexy and are by far the comfiest helmet Ive ever worn. Tried on every single helmet in the Giro/Specialized/Trek/Met range while working at evans, Xen got my vote and my money M@
  2. I do totally agree, they are ace cars even if the performance/handling/build quality leave a lot to be desired. It always will be an iconic car, and as somebody said before, I challenge any person who see's one on the road not to stop and stare in awe, cos they're rare as hell! The biggest mistake they ever made was letting the Irish build it though!
  3. Mercedes 300SL with GullWing doors, circa 1955
  4. HOLY F*CK that golf is quick! Thats absolutely nutty! Whats the engine in it or is it another twin-engined jobby? My jaw actually dropped watching it, soo quick through and out of the corners, though looks like a bit of a handful lol
  5. is that all it cost u??? Is that the sorta going price for one or... Hmm very tempting! Bye Bye Reyland Mk1 ^^ skip to about 6:30, thats what happened to the first one, it was capable of 196mph aswell This is how quick it was... Was gutted when it died, and you're right the new one in silver just isnt the same! Edit: better pic It'll be interesting to see how it fares though, the old one hit 196 with 500bhp, the new one's reportedly got 700!
  6. Lol thats pretty true, its also not just a different length, but the roof has been lowered aswell and the track of the car has been widened to make it handle better. It is what you'd call a complete 1-off Still damn impressive though! Although again nothing to do with this thread, has anybody seen the recently rebuilt Paul Reyland Escort Cossie? DAMN!
  7. Thats a kinda naive response to be honest =/ All of the Evo's and Impreza's etc are modern day performance cars, not built in the 70's or whenever the DeLorean was! You cant really compare a car built for £100k to get stupidly quick to a classic car thats had some work done to make it, I imagine, a hell of a lot of amusement to drive! I do however love the Norris Evo, saw his earlier Evo 7 which was something silly like 700bhp! Love it or hate it, but as Adam said, with 840bhp and a sub-9second 1/4 mile its a touch mental! Handling course at Silverstone Just found this 2, shows how well it copes even with an average driver and stupid amounts of power! M@
  8. Engine sounded like a bag of rusty nails aswell Kinda quick upto the 1st gearchange but it then seemed to bog down a fair bit, and as said the evo had an appauling reaction and was catchin all the way up the strip! Still funny though, bet the driver of the evo felt like a bit of a tool! M@ Oh and just lookin through the guy's photobucket account, Im assuming this is said car's engine bay Sparkly! Must've ploughed a lot of money into it though!
  9. That someone was me I believe, same place I got mine and an excellent shop, brilliant service. Only problem is the lens on cameras2u is £40 more than the other place As for import taxes, they say that they will re-imburse any that is required by the country so... With regards to warranty, the info for the lens states that it comes with a "Sigma International Warranty", am going to email them tomorrow as to whether this is an actual warranty card, as there is a FAQ about this on the Sigma website found here (1st topic): FAQ's I guess in reality if I had a problem with the lens then it may be easier to get it fixed by somewhere like Jessops or London Camera Exchange but I just dont know! Meh thanks for the input anyway guys Any more welcome 2! M@
  10. Didnt have any joy in the Random Photo's thread so thought would ask everybody and anybody. Somebody on TF posted a link to this online shop, and the prices are very very cheap! The reason for this is that all stock is couriered from Hong Kong.... Although all orders are aparently insured and they accept paypal which means its covered with them aswell, Im still a little cautious as to whether to order a lens for my dslr from here or not... Has anybody used this company? (At this point Im hoping the person who originally pointed me to the shop will step forward and have a positive answer ) Any info, much appreciated! Thanks guys and gals M@ Edit: Link to shop
  11. Have a slightly less concrete right foot might help ur fuel consumption....lol Usually the cause of high fuel burning, and as above, just change gear earlier and keep the revs low enough so the turbo isnt spooling right up!
  12. Joeeeeeeeee Im coming back down to Surrey for a month Mite have to drag the bike down 2 and come out on Sunday if u dont mind me taggin along, havent ridden much in a while but be gd 2 catch up with u guys M@
  13. Damnit why do u have to organise another big ride in Bristol when Im moving down to Surrey for a month(housesitting for family) on Friday!!! Sods law that is, will have 2 go ride london instead M@
  14. LOL its very true, so many 14-18 yr old scene kiddies! Not as bad as Give it a Name though, went to last years and it should've been called Emo-fest. There was even a Vans/Converse and Atticus Black sales stand in the venue ffs Headin up now, have fun whoever goes M@
  15. Yes they are playing, dont worry The complete lineup is:- Alexisonfire Anti-flag Saosin Senses Fail Taking Back Sunday Underoath Very true, I absolutely loved last years, even though the singer from The Used is a complete egotistical w*nker I shall be making the trip to cardiff though, should be a good night. Really really lookin 4ward to seeing Anti-Flag, their new album is brilliant! Alexisonfire should be much the same, stonking new album which they'll hopefully play some of! Taking Back Sunday I dont know amazingly well but enjoy their stuff, will see what they bring. Senses Fail, good old generical u cant beat it! Not bothered about the other 2, but my mate loves Saosin so I gotta go hold his hand in the pit Enjoy anybody who's going M@
  16. Gutted Love that song, awesome band. Really wana get to Boston to see them on St Paddy's day, but am in Australia then Meh...
  17. Ace film, saw it on Saturday with a big group of mates and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best Bond films in a very long time, although Goldeneye still holds true to me! Much darker and more sinister film than previous, but worked really well and Mr Craig really managed to pull it off well! Looking forward to seeing what they do for the next film now. Did anybody else cringe like mad when he gets bag-tagged by Le Chieffre in the boat? I think every guy in the audience shuffled in their seats then. Had to laugh when Bond turns to him and says "You know I'll have died with you scratching my balls" or something to that effect Yeah it was a little painful, kinda irritated me and the guys I was with cos there's just no need for it when you've already sat through the adverts before the film! The scene where he arrives in the Bahamas and drives down the seafront in the new Ford just p*ssed me off, it may aswell be the next Ford TV advert! I think a lot of people have missed the point to this bond film. Although its been based on the 1st ever book by Ian Flemming, the story is in no chronological order in relation to any of the other bond films! This film was set right now, not to be backtracking on previous films, hence relations to 9-11 etc. The first 5 mins or so of the film where its all washed out and grainy is a flashback to when he became a 00-agent first. It doesnt exactly relate to what happens for the rest of the 2 hours or so! Most of the bond films have had no continuity, and this applies to this one aswell. As much as I am lead to believe, this bond film essentially wipes the slate clean. They are taking them down a very different path to previous films, hence being much more dark and brooding. The story was also much more choppy and complex than past bond films which have tended to be fairly light entertainment, if you get my meaning. There are aparently 4 or 5 more books written in the same sort of timeframe as Casino Royale which will be turned into bond films, but in the newer style with different direction and a very different James Bond! I personally cant wait, as was really blown away by this one and the new Bond! See above. My take on it was that it was more of a nod to the bond-traditionalists! Cleverly done though, and still a gorgeous car! I did nearly cry when they destroyed the new Vanquish DBS, aparently 3 in total were trashed filming that one scene! /my tuppence M@
  18. LOL thats crazy! Gutted I missed this tour, wanted 2 go but cant afford it. Seen LTJ a couple of times before and they are awesome, but the Dropkicks are clearly the greatest most entertaining band on the planet! Did they play 'Kiss me Im shitfaced' and get all the women from the crowd up on the stage? They did when saw them last year, best gig Ive ever been 2!!!! Really wish I'd made it
  19. They really are naff, v12's are in a totally different class. One set of v12's will last the same kinda time as about 4 sets of v8's, so save a lil extra money and do the sensible thing.
  20. Short but sweet, not much exciting... 1.0 Nissan Micra duno what year - Learnt to drive in it, dead easy to drive but all the power of a dead rabbit 1.1 Fezzer mk2 - My 1st car, ran it around for 3 years and 30k, I finally had to scrap it cos the only way I could stop was using the handbrake 1275 Mini clubby - Mates car, thrashed it around with him for a year or so, amazing fun to drive, like a gokart but the head gasket kept blowing! 1430 Hillclimb mini - Car owned by the guy who did work on my minivan, scary 140bhp at the fly, on 10's and went like a fookin rocket! 1.6 VW Golf Mk2 driver - Mates car at uni, quite nippy but sluggish round corners and horrific gearbox 1.6 Peugeot 405 Estate - Dads old car, stupidly heavy clutch, dull and crap 1.9dturbo Peugeot 306 - My current car, love it to bits. A joy to drive and fun to show up little boy racer kiddies when u need to. £50 goes about 650 miles 2.0td Renault Espace - Dad's car, light and twitchy steering and horrific body roll. Fun to drive, kinda like a roller coaster, is pretty nippy 2 as the body is all fibreglass. 2.5 twin turbo Lexus Soarer - 290bhp anybody? Was an auto but still shat my pants driving it, borrowed it a couple of times of a friend and cant help but giggle when driving it! Fuel consumption is painful though Cant think of anything else. My uncle has a TVR Chimera 4.2 which I really really really want to drive but am not insure to I thought the lexus was quick until he took me out for a blast in this....DAMN. The sole reason I want a V8 engined car, pure unadulterated grunt! Meh will update if think of anything M@
  21. I'll be in Cardiff but going up for the rugby so wont have a bike and will be a little worse 4 wear! Shame as I wana ride there at sum stage, have friends living there so have sumwhere to crash aswell! Another time maybe M@
  22. anyone who's had a spin on mine knows its pretty damn light, granted its only a 1000mm wheelbase so is pretty short and tight. Compared it to an 06 Python on a Bristol ride a while back and be damned if I could tell the difference! I dont even have lightweight components on it either Never had a problem with it, and yeah ok so it isnt exactly a UCI style frame, but then nothing that short is going to be! Saying that, if you consider front taps, sidehops etc to be more "proper" trials then look at what Rich can do on his double disk frame.... They are strong as hell 2, and Im pretty sure Clive has made some for people as long as 1040, so Im sure depending on style of riding it could be adopted by pretty much anybody. Clive truly is a legend though and you can do a fair bit of customising to suit how you like to ride Get one, you definately wont be sorry! M@
  23. Drifting has been utterly ruined going by the PC demo In NFS underground 1+2 it was soo sweet but they had to go and try to "better it" by making it faster paced. Instead they've just made it so stupidly easy to get the back end out and so ridiculous that its ruined what should have been the best aspect imho My collectors edition is on....55%, will see how it goes when done. In the meantime my mate convinced me 2 get Guildwars Nightfall (£17.99 from play.com) and have just installed that so will see what its like. M@
  24. Nah its definately not a Mavic hub as the disc-side hub flange is much larger than the off side looking at the picture. Something simillar to a monty or Viz hub maybe? But again, likely a custom painted version.... M@
  25. What sort of money are you looking to spend? By the D70 Im assuming u mean the D70s, as it was released to supercede the 70... For the around the money of the D70s you can also get the Canon 400D and the new Sony Alpha, though I dunno much about the Sony. The thread Rob posted should prove some use, though was a few months back and various new cameras are out now! M@
