  1. yes...will that affect it? Thanks James
  2. Hey all, For some reason I am not receiving any emails from Trials Forum in relation to watched topics. They are in the watched topics box, but no emails are cominf through. I have double checked and the topics are set to immediate notification, but alas nothing is coming through. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks James
  3. Ok, fair enough. It's a bit of a pain because my bikes are used for me to get to school daily, so being frozen is a pain in the ass as I then have to walk. Thanks anyways guys, I am pretty sure there will be n order placed for some Phat Phluid some time soon. James
  4. Might be out guys, but unsure. Depends if parents will be kind enough to give me a lift in, and whether my back is any less painful. James
  5. Sorry, should have made it clearer , I don't have any Monty oil, I meant found it on Tartybikes Has anyone used anything unusual in their brakes that works? i.e. household stuff that could be used until I get payed and can get some Phat Phluid :/ Thanks James
  6. It's good to see someone designing something new and innovative. I just found the monty brake oil... has anyone tried that? What else is there to use, is cooking oil usable? Sorry for the questions, I have two bikes and annoyingly both are unrdeable Thanks James
  7. I'm not sure, but it is the third bleed I'm on with it, and nothing's changed throughout...I'm pretty sure it must be the anti-freeze itself. Pretty sure I will try Phluid after hearing so many good reviews. How does Phluid compare to other products in terms of price and performance? Thanks James
  8. Has anybody tried the aforementioned Phat Phuid? Both of my Maggies have been freezing. Before anyones says anything, they are bled with 50:50 mix of water to Antifreeze, but it's old and doesn't seem to want to work as it should, therefore i=both brakes freeze daily. Been looking at this stuff and wondered if it actually the miracle it is made out to be... feels like water, but doesn't freeze like it. Thanks James
  9. A quck search on ebay under Trials Frame came up with this, not too bad. James
  10. As above, I tried to find it sideways, and then go upwards. Also really exaggerate the dipping of the front wheel before you kick. Hope I helped James
  11. This has cheered me up to no end...Thanks Guys James
  12. I see you are from the Bristol area. There is a group of us riding next Saturday. Come along and I am sure people wll let you have a try so that you can decide which style suits you best. Street style can be done on mods, so don't rule them out just yet! James
  13. Ok so at the moment it's me, Rob, Pete, Sam and possibly Ben weather depending. Should be a good bit of fun Thanks James
  14. As long as the frame and forks have mounts for it then it's fine. I would suggest looking into a magura HS33 for the back though. If it was me I would buy the onza Bird and then put Maguras on the back using the EVO mounts. Tis' what I'm doing when I get mine on Sunday. James
  15. Landed on a child of about 11ish. I went to drop off of a 5ft ish drop when the brake cable snapped. I kicked forward to at least get off safely and he ran out of a gate straight in front of me. To this day I can see the look on his face. He didn't get too badly hurt, mainly cuts and bruises, but could have been a lot worse! Been hit by a car on my bike n similar circumstances pedalling off of an icy wall where I lost control. You can guess the rest James
  16. 20" if you're completely new to the sport - more stable and slightly easier to learn on. 26" if you come from a mountain biking or moto trials background - more similar to what you are used to. Saying that it is personal preference. See if you can find some local riders who are willing to let you ride theirs. Hope I helped James
  17. Neither of those are trials bikes. Try looking here under bike section. The onza mods are a good place to start. James
  18. Hey all. Me and a few others will be riding bristol this Saturday. Plan on meeting at the blocks at cumberland basin at 11ish and then might move into town later on. Feel free to come along. The more the merrier Thanks James
  19. HS33s can be bled with water or mineral oil. Water gives a more responsive action, but mineral oil needs less regular bleeding and overall maintenance. I personally use a water bleed, but it's personal preference to be honest mate. Hope I helped James
  20. Thanks all. I sanded down the piston last night and put it back on the bike this morning and it works better than before. Thanks James
  21. Ok guys. I have got the piston out. Which bit do I sand down? Thanks James
  22. Souns good guys. How do you remove the piston? Thanks James
  23. Hey all, big dilemma on my hands. I have a HS33, the 2005+ model bled with a water and antifreeze mix. I have just re-bled it after the lever blade started to be loose as in its not coming into contact with the piston in the body. For some reason it is still doing it. Whenever I pull the lever, it will pull with more resistance than normal. and when I release it, the pads stay out, and the blade is loose. I have tested the parts individually by forcing water through them and they all seem fine apart from the piston in the lever body. Any ideas as to what is the problem and what can be done to rectify it. I have done a quick search but couldn't come up with anything. Thanks James
  24. Alright mate, is that wheel with the hope xc laced to an onza rim still up for sale, am very interested. Thanks. James
