  2. I think the speedrace single cages are still reduced to £15 on Tarrty bikes, they're what 'm running are are freaking awesome, am going to get a set to go on my mod pretty soon. James
  3. Oh yeah rob mentioned he had text you Ben, is Rowan a bristol rider? It was his vids that got me into riding in the first place Thanks James
  4. Anybody at all or are we gong to be riding alone? James
  5. Don't worry guys I have got it sorted. Got myself some heavy duty Kendas. Is there anything extra I can do to prevent punctures. Thanks James
  6. Hey all. Me and Rob are meeting up on Saturday and are going for a ride. If you want to come along just let me know on here so I have an idea of who we have to wait for. The plan is to meet in castle park by the church at 11 and go from there, same as last weekend. Thanks James
  7. Hey all, I am looking for some cheap inner tubes for my 26 and came across these: Lnky Does anybody know if they are any good. Its only to tide me over for a few rides until I get my mod, but the lightweight XC ones I have in at the moment are pretty shot. I don't really want to spend £8 per tube so these look a viable alternative, but I don't know. Thanks James
  8. Awesome. As I say I probably won't come out again until a few weeks time when I have my mod, but when I do I shall have to put up a post in the rides section and see if anybody is about. Thanks James
  9. I run between 25 and 30 on both wheels for most stuff. James
  10. This is going to sound really bad but you were riding the echo right? Sorry James
  11. Thanks guys for making my first ride an awesome one! I am definitely gonna have to come out when I get my mod in a few weeks time. May come out beforehand if I can get my stock sorted out. Thanks James
  12. OK so I'm definitely coming down now. Will be bringing my bike but I warn you I am utterly cr*p! James
  13. I might come down and have a quick look at you guys if that's ok. I can't ride very well so I don't think it's worth me bringing me bike, but I would like to have a look at some technique. Thanks James
  14. Ok thanks for that mate. james
  15. Hey all. It's my birthday on the 28th, and I'm getting an onza bird 09 from my parents. Does anyone know if you can use snail cams with them. I don't trust chain tugs, they just don't seem strong enough to me. Thanks James
  16. Good to know about rock'n'roll, am ntending to get some stuff from them soon. Seem like a decent guy; have a vote! James Edit: Ooh look I validated you
  17. Ok will do. Thanks mate. just so I know, is mike Onza or is he RocknRoll bike. thanks James
  18. 09 Bird. I got it for £250 from my local bike shop brand new. It's quite heavy though but I've worked out I can get it under 10kg by replacing forks, stem, bars and switching to FFW. I know it's bad but I'm used to a 9.6kg stock so I like light bikes. The plan is upgrade the most important things, and then switch the frame after a year or two for something like a skull or maybe a gu. Thanks James
  19. Hey all. Am getting a mod in a few weeks time and am looking to change the whole front end on it as soon as I get it. I wsa browsing the web for forks when I came across these: Forks. Are these the ones from the new Rip and Bird, or are they a different set. They seem pretty light at 763g. Just wondering what people think of them. I can't find them on the onza website, so are they actually Onzas? Thanks James
  20. DO you have any idea wha6 time/ where? I might be able tto come down but not sure. James
  21. Sorry do full builds count. If not: £50 14-15 1 James
  22. Surprisingly it actually is! i ride a Diamondback Kabuki Mono, which has a wheelbase of 1150. It also has a BB height of 350mm which is roughly +20mm so it is propbably the least suitable from what you're saying with long stays and low BB. I'll see if it makes much difference when I get my mod. Just got to practice until then! Thanks James
  23. Thanks for that. As I say this morning was the first time I managed them, so I guess I have a long road of learning ahead of me. Just out of interest, will it be any easier on a mod? I have one coming in late November so I am wondering if that will help. Does the bike your on affect it as well? I am on a long Damondback Kabuki which has a wheelbase of 1150 iirc so I was wondering are shorter frames easier/harder than longer ones. Thanks James
  24. Thanks. I think I just need to work on it a bit more. I realized I have forgotten to put the clip of my pedal kicking in :$ , so here it is along with some others. http://vimeo.com/16279306 James
