  1. I'm definitely interested in the entry level Fourplay, I think it's called the element. Nice to see a high end manufacturer considering those with a slightly lower budget. The Hex looks nice as well, but I'm not too keen on the graphics, but It looks a beaut. James
  2. The problem with vees are keeping them well maintained. I run vees and never have had anything else, but they're a pain in the backside to set up properly, plus you have the problem of them not working if the rim is so much as slightly untrue, wheras disks can still be run with a wonky rim, whch may be better for beginners if their riding isn't as smooth as it could be. Just personal preferance really James
  3. Surely all you need is a drill and the right size drill bit. Could I ask that you put a pic on when you do it as it is something I am interested in getting for my mod when I get it Thanks James
  4. The Rip will be fine, until you want to upgrade anything on it, then it will be downright annoying. You're much better off getting the Bird or Pro, as you have the smaller back wheel which is more common in trials, and more powerful brakes than the vees that are on the Rip James
  5. 420 for a Bird, but I have een them ad they are well worth it. Linkarithmic James
  6. If I fall, I tend to give it one more go, and then if not I go away for two weeks or so trying other stuff and then come back to it. Has worked for me so far. Can't really help with gaps and sidehops as I can't do them myself (please don't laugh). Just keep tryng and gradually built it up, don't take to muck of a step at a time, just keep the progression going in small increments. Hope I helped James
  7. I'm in Frampton, so literally half an hours ride from you at most. I think it took me 20 to ride to Terry's Cycles the other week. I mostly ride the benches, walls and play areas in Winterbourne when I'm out with mates. Got no bike at the moment as It's still being built up. I don't know Scott or Jack, do they ride? What about you, what do you ride and is there much riding in Yate? James
  8. Any decent set of bars will do to be honest mate. I'm currently running a set of Race Face Evolve DH risers on my stock, and they work great. I think they retail for 22quid with free postage on chain reaction here: Linkomatic James Edit: Oh by the Way mate, where bouts in Bristol are you from?
  9. Thanks. One of the first things I plan on doing is moving the freewheel from the back to the front and fitting it out with a lighter set of cranks, forks and plastic pin head pedals so should be good. James
  10. @ZooRyder Where abouts in Bristol are you mate. James
  11. Hey, It's good to see some proper grammar and punctuation for a change. Hope you make full use of the forum. Any vids or pics of your riding you could put on here, as I'm really interested in seeing what can be done on the Rip, as I'm getting the Bird in November so would be cool to see what is doable on the bikes. James
  12. The trialtech ones are here: Linky-licious Although there are others here: Linkaroo Hope I helped James
  13. Well It's a vee so it depends completely how you set it up. Decent cables, lever, pads and get it set up properly and it will outperform a maggie, but set it up wrong and you will have one hell of a time trying to stop. I think it all depends on which method you use to set it up. I have my own way which I think works best. Hope I helped James

That was awesome man, smooth and big. What are you riding James
  15. I like the bike all apart from the tyres James
  16. You fix one problem, and suddenly a train load of others comes along.

  17. I solved mine by thread-locking the bolts as above and also greasing the underside if the crank-bolt heads. Hope I helped James
  18. If you look at it the disk mount faces forwards James
  19. No sorry, I was showing that they were the cheapest ones I could find. James
  20. Tarty bikes, no two ways about it. Cheapest ones: Rear non-disk Front Non-Disk Front Disk Hope I helped James
  21. Is this copy and pasted, because I find it rather dubious that you know the rules and yet have seem to have asked in another post as to what BB and wheelbase means. James
