  1. I always used to use a very thin steel slitting disc. Little to no pressure only using the weight of the grinder in quick short passes. Do one side and change disc, repeat. Always worked well for me. Wear goggles! If sharp fragments of alloy don't end up in your eyes the disc will if you shatter it pressing too hard
  2. I've been advised to run around 400ml of Torco friction modifier in with the same brand MTF to help it slip a little. Apparently very aggressive without.
  3. Luck of the draw has meant I've landed my hands on a Spoon Sports 1.5 way plated diff!
  4. Paging @dann2707, how did mapping phase 2 go?
  5. Picked up a Sparco fixed bucket jobber with side mounts for £70.00, bargain. I already had Corbeau rail bases so I've modified those to suit the sidemounts and as a result I have a very sturdy seating solution that sits me in a better position too. My idea of spending an hour after work this evening to finish a repair to my rear engine mount not only resulted in one repaired mount, but this: Before: After: No diff unfortunately but if I do manage to get my hands on one before Cadwell it's only a few hours work to get it fitted. Insurance starts next week. Can't wait to drive it again. 24mm rear arb on order too which should help things out nicely too.
  6. I wouldn't have even considered that based on the paint job alone! Each to their own
  7. My R888 have arrived, this makes me happy. 205s a little big for a Teg wheel but I'll have to see how we go on.
  8. I've never accepted friends and family payments over paypal even while dealing on Facebook to help people buy with confidence, no different to eBay and yet to have anything come back I scrap most things if they're faulty.
  9. eBay for the f**king win. Ive been trying to sell a number of old car bits on Facebook for ages now; roll on the messers with no money or the dreamers. Lists said items on eBay early this morning as if nothing to do. Two items of substantial value have sold in under 10 hours. Hurray for extra quidz
  10. Bagged two 205/50/15 Toyo R888 for £70.00 this evening. Still got 4.5mm of tread on them too! Just have to find two more the same size or possibly either 195 or 215 to run staggered fitment. Going to run them on the DC2 wheels and throw the AD08R on my spare wheels. Take both and see what I get on with best. Collect my seat, sidemount and harness on Friday too
  11. Might have just stumbled upon my new daily driver. 2004 Audi A3 1.9TDi. Recent engine replacement but the tit that owns it currently drove it home on a blown Turbo and no oil... £250.00 secures me the car, £250.00 gets me a replacement engine with a good Turbo. Car is clean as too! Happy days
  12. Purchased from a bloke I've sold Honda parts to in the past mate, just a case of right place right time! Super cheap, I'm well made up with it
  13. £50.00! Came in the box and has the bag too! HANs compatable. Barely a mark on it, good find.
  14. Got off me arse and did something about the Civic. Now ye see me: Now ye don't: Engine removed for timing chain fitting, gearbox I had removed to take to someone to fit my B series helical LSD.. but I've since sold said differential and spent too much money on an MFactory 1.5 Way plated LSD Id have upgraded in future anyway so, why not just do it once. Their final drive kits are on offer too.. very tempted to go all out on DC5 4th 5th and 6th gears with a 4.9 final drive.
  15. It's a great atmosphere if run well, I've found most are pretty chatty... always good fun putting up a good show against cars that would otherwise seem to be in another league Never had an issue with Javelin myself either, been very accomodating and willing to sort out any issues/confusion.
  16. Done a few days now in my civics, all of which have been moderately modified to suit but by far and away not the fastest and it's still brilliant fun... don't worry about being the fastest. Let the faster people past, and focus on your own driving from then on. You'll get a clear run at some point and have a whale of a time.
  17. If you get the bits together, fire me a message across on the facebooks and we'll arrange a time. Thanks for the kind words Mr Rainbird!
  18. Gladly do it for beer money Dan, not a problem.
  19. Amazingly the 306 passed its MOT today with flying colours.. Civic off the road as of tomorrow. Should allow me to get the engine and box out with other associated bits to sort out before Cadwell at the end of next month. Fingers crossed I've sourced an OEM k series LSD that I can drop straight in with no faffing around. Other than that it's a clutch replacement and save money for K Pro ECU and a map. The Hondata Ecu I borrowed last time transformed the car and it's felt shit ever since haha.
  20. Nice work Dan. £120.00 for a Genuine coil and leads is good going! We fit one on an Astra last week, non genuine. Cost at trade to us was £92.50 ex.VAT.. My car continues to plague me with trouble. The timing chain needs doing, a misfire has developed and now the clutch won't disengage properly.
  21. Yeah it'll reduce bias towards the rear. Honda rear disc brakes of old are reknowned for locking up with heavy use even when using oem bias. Trick is usually to do away with the oem proportioning valve and go for the adjustable item, and use cheap pads. Funnily enough the need for such a valve is that I'm not getting enough rear bias, as the vehicle has the wrong prop valve on for rear disc brakes (drums fitted originally) at present. Again, just future proofing/improving while the opportunity is there.
  22. @Greetings Yes, fronts only. My rear brakes are as large as I can go using OEM parts and for what the car needs will do the job just fine. I'm able to adjust the bias to suit. My current front brakes would probably do the job with some attention but while they need sorting I'd rather future proof them.
  23. Bagged myself a HANs compatable OMP lid for £50.00! Love a good bargain, saves me hiring a sweaty one every track day.
  24. I've been hoping to be able to squeeze bigger brakes under my 15" DC2 wheels and I think I've found the winning combination I need. Accord Type R 300x28mm discs EP3 Type R carrier and choice of pad MB6 VTi-s Calliper or Standard EJ9 calliper. Photo for reference... the callipers gonna be tight as in there. The accord discs only come in 5x114 but I've sourced a company who can do me grooved and dimpled items in 4x114. Failing that it's simple enough to redrill them to 4x114 myself.
