I used to ride with the pedal right forward under my foot but feel that added range of motion has probably contributed to my bad Achilles tendon in my left foot.

I thrashed the shit out of my x reg k11. 1.0L, had no airbox on it at all for well over a year for the bwarps and straight piped. Chopped springs, cheap wheels. Handled like a go kart, was mega! Very rusty though... Big spring rates and some Polo front Coilovers cure the front heavy problem with SR20s in them. Even the 1.3s turbod are very nippy, just don't hold up well compared to something similar like a Starlet with the 4EFE 1.3 lump.

K11 Micras are f**king awesome cars. Absolutely loved mine. I'd love to make a nutter budget build track car out of one with an SR20VE from an Almera GT and see how it gets on. Bet it could be done for under £1k taking into account some cheap wheels and some scrubbed semi slicks from ebay. One day... In civic news I've barely used it since last weeks outing at Cadwell. Gave it a once over and the rear brakes still appear to do very little, think I'm changing the master cylinder this time. R888 are dead but I was that impressed by the drive on them I'll be ordering 4. Hoping to get back to Cadwell before the end of the year. Needs a more asbo-esque rear silencer too, too quiet (lowest dB reading on sound check last Thursday!) It's still begging for Hondata management too to erk some more ponies from it.

Was going to add some civic stuff in but above Porsche blows it into insignificance haha. Proper cool that

Lunch time at Cadwell. AD08R haven't been as hoped, after a few flying laps they're going off quickly, constant hot pressure of 29psi. Put the R888 on the front and it's a different car. Lovely combination with the AD08R on the rear. Having a reyt good time

The changes to the Civic have been a resounding success. The way it pulls itself through a turn now is incredible! Diff and roll bar and a little more toe out with some more negative camber dialled in has got it driving like it's on rails. It's keen to oversteer if you get it wrong but it's so predictable it makes it fun! Pads and fluid held up perfectly for a solid 30 minutes of kicking its head in round Rockingham on Sunday and showed no signs of giving in, if anything the more heat went into the pads the more bite they had. Its also quite amazing what a positive psychological difference a good seat and harness make, not moving around in the seat and being able to feel the cars ever movement has also made a pleasant change to how I drive it. Never even tried the R888 as the Yokohama AD08Rs were so good! Night and day difference, seemed happy at around 29psi hot all round. Super happy, can't wait for Cadwell on Thursday

Had a mega few days until the 306 took a massive shit on them this evening. Passed my MOT course, sold a cylinder head, sold the cam cover, sold my old Recaros... all looking good. Chappy paid more money for me to deliver said Recaros to Crewe, about 100 miles. Drop Recaros, turn round, f**k off home. Sound. Nope. The peugeot does smoke on full boot but when it continued to emit white steam when not on the pedal it worried me... 3 miles out of Crewe. Just as the needle shot up to max temp the entire contents of the engines cooling system spaffed itself up the windscreen. Que hours of trying to find someone with some f**king pliers and a Stanley knife so I could chop the offending hose and refit. Had to use some shit office scissors and rob me jubilee clamp from my intake pipe.! shit car.

Passed the MOT exam

Not really mate, they can be so bad it's either a specialist job to have them removed with a hydraulic puller, ream them out or worst case head off.

If it's done 120k it's around the mileage the injectors start to fail on most. Very common problem with both the earlier F9Q and M9R lumps. Both are notorious for injector failure. The M9R lumps are a nightmare to remove injectors too as the water gathers between the humps in the cam cover and they just fuse themselves solid to the head... No.1 injector on the F9Q lumps seize in too. Expensive job to rectify. If it seems to run a bit lumpy, throw any black smoke out or struggle to rev initially after cold start, steer clear.

Lunch time. On my MOT course and pleasantly surprised with how much I know so far.. feeling confident (touch wood).

Diff bearings Thats a shame Dan. On the flip side I fitted my diff this evening... The hardest bit was changing that b*****d speedo gear. Fiddly.
-
Speed meter gear has arrived... who cares to guess how much this little bit of machined metal cost? I feel ill.

My old Civic on ITBs did a full tank from Barton to Silsden, around 80 miles too I had a huge smile on my face all the way home though haha
-
Harness arrived today but I'd overlooked the need to purchase under floor spreader plates with nuts to accept the eyelets. Bastarrdddddddd. One more thing to do on top of the diff and timing chain this weekend.

24 hour access to a garage with ramps and every tool I'd ever need helps a lot! I've got bugger all else to do either

Mixed feelings about this evenings results. The bias valve is in, all lines complete and the brakes seem to work but I'm getting the impression the master cylinder isn't up to the job. Long pedal travel and quite squishy.. front pads are brand new however so I'm hoping that it'll improve with some mileage when they've bedded in. There's no air in there at all, spent well over an hour going round in circles bleeding them all with the valve wide open for free flow. 1" MC would undoubtably improve feel. Time to get some miles in I think and see how we go. Only suffered one leak too! Might remake that pipe as the flare wasn't incredible. Harness and diff should land any day this week.

More parts arrived this morning. Got my old brake pipes off yesterday... Internal lines to make tonight, with said parts

It's certainly easier with one! Dead lucky to be allowed to use them anytime. Haha I watched that start to finish, some nice bits on that car. Id like to try the R888R next.

brakes working well in one direction only?
SamKidney replied to Herbertlemon102's topic in Trials Chat
This. Having a puncture was the worst. Not because you'd have to f**k about with tubes but because you just know that sweet brakes going to be mush for the remainder of the ride -
Roll bar. Big roll bar. Was expecting this to arrive next week but pleasantly surprised to find it here this morning. Fits well. Should be quite a difference coupled with the LSD.

As above really Dan. Turbo motors don't need the exhaust harmonics an NA engine wants. Get it out as quickly and easily as possible. If your downpipe is 3" have a system made to suit that follows the same size throughout.

MOT course week after next. Nervous but excited to add another qualification to my name.
