  1. to be honest, id do it just for peace of mind. Even on 1275's, there isn't a great amount of material on the borewalls. Eaton m45 supercharger lined up for mine
  2. You've answered your own question really. You're getting bored of brakeless, and wanna try something new. The cheapest option is slap a pair of disks on there and see how you go wit hthat
  3. You dont wanna go silly on the over-bore, especially on a turbo engine, or you'll melt through the piston walls quicker than dam I've got a 1973 Clubman estate, just need to pull my finger out and re-store it
  4. I agree with you. I wasn't arguying for either side of the Water cooling debate, i was telling JMCD that he was wrong If you've got some money for a new cooler, maybe its worth looking into a new case? I've got the haf 912, which has 1 230cm top fan, 1 140cm side fan, 1 120cm exhaust fan, and 1 230cm front fan which are all pretty much silent and i think they retail for £50. The more airflow you can get through your case, the less the CPU fan has to spin to get air through the heatsink.
  5. Cheers guys i know its not exactly a modern car, but : i can easily fit 3 stocks in it Starts first turn of the key and runs sweet as a nut(especially considering its done 180 though miles) in the 18 months I've had it, its only broken down one; the clutch let go, which cost me £80 to fix Its a 1.5 Diesel, which means its shit hot on fuel, And mainly, i brought it with 12 months MOT, and 8 months tax, for a whopping £350
  6. This is the 'Car Thread' not the 'Good Car Thread' Cant complain, she's put up with 18 months of my abuse
  7. I've taken one link out since that picture,i dont think it was on the largest front chainring
  8. Not one bit New rear cassette arrived and fitted, it was about 80% working. Still had issues with the rear mech, theres bugger all tension so i think the springs on its way out. Found an old mech and fitted it, just need to dial it in, but i got rained out today
  9. Finally got some alloy's on her. Wasn't sure about them at first, but i'm starting to like them
  10. Open cup bearings get battered in trials, it's worth replacing your hub with one that uses sealed bearings. That way you wont have to adjust them, they'll run smoother, and when they break, you can simply buy new sealed bearings
  11. I've used laing ddc3.25,swiftech mcp655 and thermaltake pumps. I found the swiftech mcp655 moved massive amounts of water, but was the loudest, the laing was a good mixture of water flow/noise, and found the Thermaltake pump to be the quietest, however it was still audible. They all make a high pitch 'hummm' which i found more annoying than fan noise. However the new Swiftech mcpx35 is ment to be alot better, and have fully variable speeds aswell
  12. WRONG! you need a pump to pump the liquid, which creates noise. You also still need fans to cool the radiator/s. IMO i've found alot of the water cooling systems to be nosier than fan cooling, and generally more expensive. It's only a route you wanna go down if your seriously into OC'ing. Saying that, there is some cheap H50/H70 sealed loop CPU coolers.
  13. i like the light blue touches, really adds something to it. And your levers are wonky!
  14. I SO wanted to try this. I dont think it'd look so stupid with a trials frame though.
  15. Ha ha, my old frame. Treat her nice I've got some mod stuff which i'll end up throwing out at this rate. I'll have a look tonight and give you a PM
  16. I've got one of these at home, if anyone's interested in buying it. I didn't like the feel of it, i prefer a longer lever
  17. Thats like one day's rain in cornwall Hint taken, ordered a new one yesterday
  18. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/176558-neon-x-ray-2010-ish/ Boom! First picture
  19. I'll try and get pictures up later, but they don't look worn, the teeth still have the correct square edges.
  20. It rides really nicely. It still needs some more work. I've got a different front wheel, and need to sort out some decent front pads. The Geo is similar to my Born, so the change wasn't difficult. The main change was from going from 18-16 to 18-15 gearing.
  21. Sorry, properly should expand. It is 7 speed, i may be Cornish, but i can count It's an old mountain bike which im doing up for a friend, but trying to do it cheap. I've fitted the Altus shifter, and the indexing is spot on, however it's still slipping on the lower gears (3-7, worse on the lower gears). I think its a mixture of the mech spring being weak, and using a new chain on an old cassette. Does using old/new gear together cause this much of an issue?
  22. So give someone some sharp metal and sharp tin snips to protect them from a sharp disc?
  23. You can get threadless bb's for situations like this, where the left cup threads into the right cup, but im not sure how well they'd stand up to trials use. Something like this http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/yst-sealed-bearing-bottom-bracket-threadless-bb-993-prod4521/
