  1. i dont see why not, if you got that sorta money to spend on a freewheel haha (which i don't) but i just went from a tensile 60 click, to a nice new echo sl108 from good 'ol tartybikes, and for trialsy style move's, its totally transformed my zoot!! its so much more responsive and im finding it even easier to get my feet / cranks in the exact position that i want them before a big gap or drop!! so for a hardcore tgs rider or comp rider, i'd say the more engagements the better! and i know everybody hates loud freewheels (even though secretly they don't) but that thing has gotta sound awesome, probably sounds like two king hubs bolted together or something

even though i normally hate camera phone clips of riding etc, i really enjoyed these.... and i think ali c just nailed the world record for the fastest rotation of any backflip ever haha awesome.. blink and you'll miss it
  3. thats super nice dude, i bet it ride's so nice too (personally i'd like a bit of a shorter stem for streety stuff) but mate that is one heck of a tartybike love it
  4. thats a very good idea mate, and i was thinking of this a few days ago, but i was worried that even if i got all my measurements etc perfect and was happy with it, but maybe in a years time i decide to bolt on a different seat and it may rub on the tyre, thats why i kinda wanted it "height adjustable",, but if i can't have a normal seatpost and clamp then ill definately be giving your idea a go
  5. hey guys... quick question, on my 2010 zoot frame its got a permanent non-height adjustable pivotal seat tube... but im not entirely satisfied with the seat height and would like to drop it down by about an inch, so i was thinking about cutting off the top part of the seat tube from the frame which has a welded on pivotal system, which im guessing should leave me with a normal seat tube right?? after i've finished cutting a little slot in the back of the tube to allow the seatclamp to crush the tube.. my main concern is the inside diameter of the seat tube and will it be the same fitment as a normal pivotal seatpost, and would the outside diameter of the frame be the right size for a standard size seat post clamp?? does this make sense to anybody haha?? any info on this would be much appreciated, thanks.
  6. hey thanks man thanks mate, i couldn't agree more on the stem, its got to go... as soon as i decide what length hope fr to buy haha. oh and the brakes seem very, very good for the money, they dont seem as sharp and bitey as a well set-up pair of v's or maggy's... but then again i've literally only used them once, they're nowhere near bedded in yet but they feel really nice and they seem to modulate really well even after only one use, i think they look great too the finish is quite nice, i'll post up a proper review when ive had a good few rides on them but im impressed so far, there's absoultely no play in the levers too!! yes they're from rock n roll bikes, seems like they done a top job of bleeding them too haha cheers mate, thats pretty much the same reaction i got from all the riders round here so far...
  7. hi guys, here's a couple pics of my new zoot that's almost finished just need a couple more bits.. thought i'd post a few pics before it gets used and abused warning: the colours on my bike may not be to everybody's taste, but i like it it looks like a bag of sweets haha.. also its the most enjoyable bike to ride i've ever owned, let me know what you think.
  8. hey ryan, is that a 2010 crf 250 your on in that avatar?? if so i have to say your a lucky b@st@£$, i almost sold my cr250 a couple weeks back and i was going to get a crf, gotta wait a while yet anyway if you were thinkin of goin to a 24 then i can highly reccomend the onza zoot if your on a medium'ish budget... it will compliment your bmx style alot, it basicly feels like a bmx on steroids... but half the weight of a bmx somehow haha, awesome bike for the money.. i prefer riding street on my zoot after years and years of riding street on a bmx
  9. awesome thats good to hear, thanks man.. got new wheels coming tomorrow cant wait to try riding with proper pressure : ) hey just noticed your a fellow devonshire shredder, were gunna be doin some exeter rides in february... hopefully there's some locals about, last time we went on the train there was nobody around so we couldnt find that many places to session!
  10. hi guys, i know you've probably had way over a billion tyre pressure questions on here before... but after sifting through a billion responses in the search bar, i've not managed to find what i wanted..... anyway, the problem is i ride mostly street (on my 24) and i really like high tyre pressure, im not overweight or anything but the bike just feels alot more responsive when running a high pressure, also it makes spin's and spin taps etc much easier... but im running "pierced" or "drilled" rims or whatever people are callin 'em, im really concerned with the whole inner tube bulging out of the rim situation.. i want to run about 55-60 psi on a rim with gigantic holes in it it? will this be o.k?? with a quality rim tape.., i mean im running 45psi at the minute (its not enough for me) and even at that it still looks like the tube is trying to escape from the rim via the holes... im just not sure what to do, has anybody on here managed to run 60 psi on "rims with holes in them" without any problems?? if anybody has any info that would be great.. i cant wait to try this bike out properly with some hard tyres, be able to bust out that 1080 tripple whip frontflip off an 8 story building that ive been eyeing up for ages
  11. alright mate, just wandered if you got my email by any chance?

  12. thanks for the info ali .. they sound like they should be totally adequate for me, i mean when im riding street i never touch my brakes (coming from a backgorund of 5 and a half years of brakeless bmx ) but when it comes to trials i like a fairly strong bite/hold when i squeeze that lever, and thats not what im getting from all the rim brakes ive tried over the years either hs33's or v's... i think the reason for me growing increasingly skeptical about running rim brakes is the current "wet" season and any slight bit of moisture in the air hinders the brakes perfomance massively, making them incredibly unpredictable.. also the fact that i ride alot of street really adds to the reason why i shouldnt run rim brakes beacuse my wheels are rarely true due to a few heavy landings on 180's etc so a complete set of hydro disc brakes for £150, for intermediate trials use is definately F T W for me, thanks again ali
  13. thanks for the reply mate.. thats the only info ive managed to find myself aswell ( thats the actual page i ordered the brakes from by the way lol) i was hoping to try an get some riders reviews or something like that.. if they perform as good as they look then im in for a real treat, im especially keen on the lever and body design, its far far nicer than any lever ive seen because its very simple looking and doesnt have a humoungus fluid reservoir bulging out of it, also it has the now popular 2 peice split clamp bar mount design which comes in super handy sometimes
  14. hi guys, ive tryed using the search bar, but to no avail, also google wasnt much help either.. just wandered if anybody has had the chance to try out the elite hydro brakes by onza?? couldnt find much info on them really but i ordered myself a set yesterday (obviously they wont arrive for a fair few days yet due to the xmas holidays and whatnot) im definately not doubting the quality at all, judging by the pictures alone they look very well made and the finish looks top notch i just found it a little odd that ive heard nothing about these, i know they havent been out very long.. but at £150 a pair with rotors+bleed kit, im very surprised i havent seen them on half the bikes in the bike pics thread haha! anyway if anybody has tryed them then let me know, just want to find out how reliable they are?, do they bite well?, do they fade quickly.. etc etc if nobody has any info, then i'll be posting up my own review at some point in the next couple weeks.. some people may find it usefull because these are a very reasonably priced set of brakes for people like me (on a tight ass budget) i'll be running them on my zoot, i ride 50% street, 49% trials.... and of course the other 1% is penny farthing drag racing!
  15. woops.. turns out i can read the pm thingy's i jus clicked on the wrong link thats all haha... thanks for the info though mate hopefully hear from you soon

  16. sorry man i couldnt get your pm.. my account hasn't been validated yet and it wont let me send/recieve/read personal messages : (

  17. hey.. jus wandered if you would be intersted in selling your zoot pro forks?? i will pay good money if there for sale im in desperate need of some stronger forks for my zoot haha!!

    thanks man

  18. hi my name is martin, im new to this forum.. im from devon and ride trials, a little bit of bmx, and quite alot of motocross... anyway here's my onza zoot i got a week ago and im loving it, had to order a new seat and grips from tartybikes just beacause the old seat was somewhat intimidating (hard, sharp plastic) will be buying new stem, bars, forks, wheels, disc brakes a couple weeks into the new year!! cant wait to start shredding this bike properly, its such an awesome bike even as standard seems very well built and a nice finish on all the parts.. impressively light too, substantially lighter than my bmx, also much lighter than my mx bike lol!!, gotta say if anybody was considering getting one of these, don't hesitate.. cheap price tag, cheap to upgrade most parts!! http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h106/fmxmartin/DSC00159.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h106/fmxmartin/DSC00162.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h106/fmxmartin/DSC00161.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h106/fmxmartin/DSC00160.jpg
