  1. how much will you sell those lever's for? they are lush!, will you be attempting a hydraulic version?
  2. sounds perfect, it's defiantely a good idea to run the freewheel on the rear if your intention is to build what will predominantly be a street trials bike. if you get stuck on the last few parts of the build then give me a shout, im sure i will have some spare tyres or pedal's or brake parts etc kicking about
  3. did you get a chance to ride your friends bike today then bud? any better at the manuals with christopher king ticking away behind you ??
  4. they may be "superlight", but if you did bolt one on and try it, imagine how hard it would be to not vomit every single time you looked down at your brake lever. also just seen a video of them on youtube and the whole thing looks like it would be less flexible if it was made from actual rubber
  5. some people may like a ffw setup, i thought my ffw felt great when riding natty/tgs and doing mostly static moves, but for me personally when im riding street and trying more bmx style moves it felt like the bike reacted really strangely whilst doing things at high speed with a ffw, especially with manuals.. it almost feel's like there is some wierd gyroscopic force going on with the freewheel and cranks when your doing like 15mph and it won't let you keep your leg's and feet in the postion you need them to keep the manual balanced properly, another problem arose when attempting tailwhips, having a rear freehub helps keep my pedals and cranks stay put when the bike is spinning around in mid air. i think quite alot of the "help" i got from a rear freehub was just the confidence thing, i may be wrong but i think the pro2 is one of the srongest hubs you can get, so it helps to know that your bike will handle whatever you throw at it! another problem for me (as far-fetched as it sounds) i just couldn't get used to the clicking sound of the drive mechanism coming from the center of the bike, after 10 years of having the noise behind me also with a ffw i found it wierdly uncomfortable / massively off putting when your going pretty fast towards a gap or a dirt jump and you look down at your bike and your chain is spinning around and jumping all over the place , not a pretty sight bit of a long list of fairly minor sounding issue's there i know.. but they are all problems that were solved immediately after bolting on a freehub
  6. i need these in my life NOW. any guess on the rrp?
  7. im not sure what your personal preference is, but if you want to do any fast, flowy line's with manual's and 360's etc.. then i would suggest running a rear freehub as the FFW setup on my 24 felt awful at any speed above 1 mph! after spending all last year to find the setup i (personally) like on a 24, i've ended up with *rear freehub (pro 2 evo ) * maxxis holy roller's (win) these tyre's work well with everything you can throw at them, low pressure, high pressure, street, natty, skatepark's, dirt, everything else. *loads of stem stackers *trialtech high rise bars *front disc (obviously) *rear hs33 on hs yellows... my rear brake is a bit overkill i know, but it only get's used for tgs move's as i never use it riding street, strangely i have always done manuals and stuff brakeless, but still i like to have a powerfull rear brake on the bike if i need it, just incase we go and ride a bit of natty or whatever, it's there if i need it! (i can't afford a seperate tgs rig so i've attempted to build a bike that can ride everything street, tgs and even a few dirt jumps) care to elaborate as to what frame/build your thinking about getting?
  8. hah, well with the weather as random as it has been lately.. i really wouldn't be surprised if you have to tackle a few glacier's mid july this year
  9. if your going to run a water bleed at this time of the year i would recommend a bit of antifreeze in with the water, as the temperature has really dropped the past few days and it would be pretty gash if your brake froze up. love the feel of a water/antifreeze bleed, the lever feel is so much more responsive and they seem to spring back a lot faster in comparison to a system thats been bled with royal blood. let us know how you get on with it
  10. this is the exact method i have been using for a long time, not really had any problem's using brake cleaner even though a lot of rider's say never to use brake cleaner on bicycle disc brakes, as it is designed for automotive use. the only time this won't work is if the friction material on the brake pad itself is thoroughly contaminated with some kind of oil or brake fluid, then there is absolutely no way of stopping your brake from honking like a bitch other than buying new pads!
  11. its not really today's riding as such, as this clip is a few months old, but i was wandering what this trick is actually called?, learnt them a few months ago and still dont know a name for it, it's not really a footjam whip as the bike doesn't really do a full rotation nethertheless felt nice sticking my first one's on the world's lumpyest rock faltbank
  12. those last 2 video's remind me of some proper street riding from about a decade ago, when brakeless just started to get popular and everybody had 4 pegs, super narrow bars and baggy jeans
  13. i cannot think of an appropriate word to describe how much i want one of these looks so nice to ride and its such a clean looking frame! also that sidehop picture is awesome, im looking forward to some video's now.. do you think you can still do footjamwhips on a rail with the 24? that will be sick!
  14. i must say i spent alot of time trying to think about anything i would change on this amazing machine and the only thing i could think of was the seat height (slam it by about 3/4 of an inch) such a perfect bike though i bet your so pleased with it.. money well spent!! also i know this has already been asked but does anybody know if it is going to be possible at any time in the near future to purchase the skye forks seperately? i'd really like a set of properly strong forks with a nice beefy 20mm axle, dont care about the price tag, it would be worth it just for the extra peace of mind / confidence when going for anything big or riding dirtjumps (which is awesome fun on a 24) knowing that my front end is pretty rigid!

    Golden Oldie!

no. what i did notice is that this was another thread with a trials video in it, so we should all watch the video and leave a comment stating what you thought about the riding/editing/filming/locations etc, am i correct? well recenently i've noticed that something as simple as that can quickly turn into a 95 page long slang fest, all becuase somebody comes out with a RIDICULOUS off-topic "opinion" like this.. example 1 > "could watch all day him unlike that Scottish bloke on that overgrown orange bmx" im asking you to edit your original post, perhaps by removing a certain 9 words from it, so it would be relative to the video we just watched.... rather than your opinion on the video of kieta followed by an absolutely irrelevant and pointless opinion of a completely off topic subject!! you could have just put "i could watch this all day" that would have been a perfectly adequate comment for the video!! now i've noticed in your second post your refering to danny's bike as a 'cruiser'??? i thought it was an 'overgrown bmx'?? i think you'll find you are talking sh@t buddy.. are you a halfords employee or something? beacuse you don't seem to be able categorise your bike's very well, let me just tell you now so you know in the future when you grow up, that orange bike the you see 'that scottish bloke' riding about IS a trials bike!. im not trying to pick a fight dude im just really, really sick of seeing peoples 'attitudes' or 'opinions' of danny on here! i really struggle to comprehend the thought process behind it all!! apart from it all being very very childish!

    Golden Oldie!

please dont tell me your seriuous? we really don't need another moron who can't even put a proper sentance together talking sh@t about danny mac! besides nobody asked you to watch video's all day of a highly talented trials rider from scotland on a very, very nicely setup trials bike did they? you know what, im actually going to lower myself to your level now and point out the fact the guy in this video is in fact riding a bmx with overly powerfull brakes on it! did you even watch this video??? (notice the bmx style moves he's pulling at like 1:30 onwards on a bike that is much nearer to being a bmx than anything danny mac has ever ridden) this isn't twitter dude don't just write down any old crap that comes in to your cretinous brain, this is a video thread highlighting the pure talent of a rider called kieta, who i must say has some incredible lines on those huge rocks!
  17. are superstar components any good? i've seen some mixed review's, some of there parts actually look pretty nice but i've never seen any in real life or used any... wouldn't mind a set of those pedals actually.
  18. whips are still my favourite thing to do on a bike wether it be on street/dirt/ramp it doesn't matter (even though street is best ) my whips aren't exactly stylish but here's a picture from agesss ago of me doing a whip in a bunnyhop to help explain how to do them a little better, i find it easier to just focus on your landing point without turning your head whilst your hopping, and as soon as im in the air i relax my left leg a little bit and also relax my left arm and hand (if im whipping clockwise like in the picture), and at the same time use your right leg to push the bike away from you whilst pulling the bike towards you with your right arm, hopefully the picture helps to illustrate this as it's very hard to explain
  19. awesome, proper glad to see this all come together, and it actually looks really nice aswell it looks like a much stronger version of a standard zoot, i bet it rides noice aswell i really think the zoot feels a hell of a lot better without a front freewheel! it hardly looks like a charity beast now i'd be quite happy to ride that! i want those middleburns aswell ! it sounds like your going through exactly the same thing though as i did when i bought that frame at the beginning of the year, serious back pain, i was in agony for about 6 months every day, and now i think im just used to it or something but my back feels a lot better than it did a few months ago, hope the pain doesn't get too bad for you though bud.. be cool to see some riding footage in the next few months even if all there is to ride is ice and snow everywere
  20. you dont need to set it up to test for leaks, just find a spanner, screwdriver or a file or anything you can find that is equivalent to the thickness of a set of pads and a disk and put your chosen object in the caliper in the gap between the pistons and pump the lever out to check the system for leaks, make sure the pistons aren't squeezing the spanner or whatever you find at a funny angle because this can sometime's allow the piston seals to leak because the piston isn't exiting the caliper at the correct angle to allow the seal to work properly! i always do this after a re-bleed or any work on my brakes to check for leaks, i'd rather do this than setting the brake up and putting the pads in, mounting it on the bike only to find it's leaking and contaminating your pads and disk.
  21. if you wanted to rebuild the caliper it's highly unlikely you will be able to find parts for it, its a cheap brake, most companies who make budget parts tend not to bother with replacement parts like seals and pistons.. as the price of a complete replacement unit always work's out about the same as buying the parts to rebuild it! but you may still be able to re-use all the parts on the brake as it stands, if fluid is leaking from around the piston, try taking the pistons out, i normally use a compressor with the air blower attatchment and blow through the fluid port whilst surrounding the caliper with a bit of rag (to stop the pistons flying across the room when they come out) then pop the piston seal out and give the piston and seal a thourough clean, make sure you clean the inside of caliper and dry everything out, then fill the piston seal groove in the caliper with rubber grease and then install the seal (this grease behind the seal helps to push the seal tighter against the piston creating a better seal) wipe away any excess grease and then pop the pistons in and give it a bleed! my seals went about 3 month's ago, i rebuilt them with grease packed in the seal groove and it hasn't leaked since!! i need to stop being a massive cheapskate though and just buy a tech trial
  22. im not biased in any way towards wearing a helmet, neither towards not wearing one, i personally don't wear one.. but i really do believe it's entirely down to the rider if they want to wear a helmet or not! still i do find it very strange how about 70% of bmxer's dont wear helmets, 90% of skater's don't wear helmets, yet 99.9% of trials rider's do wear helmets! thinking about it, maybe it's a bit like the whole "monkey see, monkey do" situation where people who are taking part in whatever there chosen sport may be, seek influence in the professional's they see taking part in such activities and follow suit, wether it be helmet's, baggy jeans, skinny jeans or gay a$$ justin bieber haircuts. i think that post make's sense anyway, but the main objective behind that post was to hopefully stop anyone asking me where my helmet is next time i post a video haha as i don't wear one, even if i did wear one i would still have the same opinion ,in that it's entirely up to the individual to make that decision themselves.
  23. you could drop your tool off at your local machine shop and ask them to machine about 1mm of material away from the inside of the tool allowing it slide over your bb spacer.. this is what i did anyway, guy's at the shop didnt even want any cash for it
