The v-brakes im using on the rear is awesome, so much nicer than maggies! But I have saints on the way home now! But yeah hope you all like it and I've been riding for like 8ish months! EDIT: Any constuctive critisism is more than welcome!

  5. So I've been noticing alot of people on here ask about how the magura mt2 brake peforms etc, since I have been riding two bikes today, one with "magura mt2" and one with the "hope tech trial" I'll thought I make a small review of them. Like why not? Both on mods and 160mm rotors on the REAR and bedded in. So I basically come from a rim brake background, love the sound and the bite, never actually had a real try on good hydraulic disc brake. I first tried the "Hope tech trial one" which I loved, so much more power than maguras (hs33), stiff, and just better than rim brakes IMO. Lever feels sweet and you have alot of adjustments like "bite point adjuster" and "reach adjustment". Yeah just a positive suprise to see how good they where, but they are quite expensive. So after that I had a go on a koxx 1049 with magura mt2, and when I came from the hope I had no real big expetations on the maguras since they're much cheaper. First thought where that the lever where REALLY comfy with it's square-ish shape. The bite and hold where really really good, pretty much exactly as the hope actually. They where stiff, not spongy at all. I really got a "wow" suprise of the performance. And I kept saying, "how could these be so cheap and pretty much exactly as good as the hope's..." I love them, the only real "downside" is that it's no tool-less design on the "reach adjustment" and I don't think it even has a "bite point adjuster", but it actually don't need one since it's pretty much perfect. So yeah I deffo think that they're worth the money! just awesome brake for the money! So I don't think you should hesitate on buying them! I know this is a "useless" post etc etc, but I might help someone!
  6. So I've basically been upgrading my bike as much as my wallet allow me to. I've now been given a set of saints free (from sponsoring) and are wondering what size I should get. Im thinking of getting the 180mm size because I wan't to. Wouldn't this get more power from the brake to? Or would it just be unnecessary weight? it's a mod bike. I have killed a pawl or something inside my freewheel and wan't to open it up. What the fork should I open the lockring with? It's a tensile... Cheeeeers!
  7. I seriously get a little mad/disappointed when I saw that pretty much all the bikes where fitted with a 30click freewheel...? That's ridicolous! Even the Onza vox which cost £750 has it! I'll give it a thumb down. But the genesis is sweet! Wouldn't mind having it even though I think it's overpriced.
  8. Deffo the best video of this year, or maybe sofar? Well loved the riding, especially the first 'part'. Never ever seen Joe Maher ride that good. That was sick! Big ups to you, and everyone else!
  9. Just put on a 4-bolt booster, and you won't have that much flex..? Mine felt awesome the 1 year they lasted... I like them way more than the 05's. And my mate has pretty much exactly the same setup as me (except that he has the 05's and I had the 2011, both using 4 finger levers), trialtech rim, rockman blues, neon 2 bolt booster. And mine beat the crap out of his no mather grind etc. Think it probably is because of the better piston ratio as Adan mentioned.
  10. Buy lighter parts instead, you wouldn't save that much by drilling it.
  11. My dad where quite skeptical about grinding it first, but then I showed him the tarty video and he said fine. And you can grind your rim bloody more than 6 times, I think i've ground mine 10-15 times could probably do 5-10 more. Bare in mind that I rather have a awesome brake, replace the rim more often, do a harsh grind, than be careful and not have the same powerful brake. So yeah. GRIND IT!
  12. Yeah it might be the front freewheels sprocket, since the bike is from 09-10-ish and it's the original freewheel. The rear sprocket is from april, so I don't think it's that worn really. Haha and If you think his gear ratio is weird, you haven't seen his bar angle yet....
  13. So my friend who doesn't use this forum (he's a wimp, hope you see this ) has a minor problem with his drivetrain. His chain jumps of randomly, it has happend like 4 times under july-august. And his chain is tight, and I mean tight, the chain line does look ok for me. And I really don't get why it jumps off. He's the guy who is fixing/setting it up. It's a onza pro MOD bike, with a kmc single speed chain, 13t rear sprocket and a 18t freewheel.
  14. Im going to keep this thread going so yeah, I made a pedal up on 4 and a half pallets! That's big for me since I've been riding halfyear-ish:) Also made a sidehop 4 pallets high, and a 5'11 feet gap
  15. Sick bike, looks really good! What do you think about the brake after some riding?
  16. Where do you find all that?
  17. Will try to get them then! Just are going to try some v-brakes on for now, since I get a new rear rim with disc hub, and brakes not soon enough;)
  18. Haha this saved me making a topic about it, I had the same thiught of modifying my 2-bolt booster. My maguras started to leak, they're a pain in the arse to maintain/setup, and the lever feels shite... I'm going to vee's now and then dual disc..
  19. Thank's mate, this is what I wanted to hear. Reagrding the modulation, I it doesn't really bother me since I'm used to maguras with harsh grinds and no modulation at all haha Cool will have them a go then, just need a new rear wheel.
  20. Hahah, we to! But you do have skittles though..
  21. I actually haven't seen a post where someone mention anything about saints. And no I don't browse the forum that much. Yes you deffo have a point haha yeah that sucks, Think Stockholm have 11 active riders or less. I like England, and liked My 3 weeks there this summer, you have spots EVERYWHERE, but the weather sucks and so does the food hehe
  22. Because I wan't to know if it does the Job. Thought that where obvious in the post I made. Well, You do know sponsoring isn't really about being the best rider. Its about reprensating a company and making some advertising for them. One big reason I make alot of videos. And Sweden is a small country (riders wise) so by sponsoring the guy who probably rides most in Stockholm they do get out their company quite well.
