Well written Rich. I was fully aware that today was the day and had thought about making a similar topic earlier but was unable to find the words that you have so thoughtfully put together. I remember when I first heard about it - after coming home after a night of celebrations and logging on to MSN only to see the huge list of tributes in fellow trials riders screen names. A 19th I'll not ever be able to forget. Stay safe everyone and ride in peace to all of our lost comrades. Andy

Nice one Rich / Mike! I've only been able to watch the first 30 seconds or so because trials tube isn't liking me at the moment but I'll be downloading the full vid after this post! Was great to get back out on the bike yesterday with you and Nick (feeling it this morning though!) Will DEFINATELY have to organise a MAD street ride soon. You'd be surprised. Emily recently got one from PC world. She only uses it as you describe - surfing the net, msn, itunes, the odd dvd maybe. We spent £329 I think it was, a few weeks back so the prices have gone down since. For the money its a pretty good machine and does everything she requires. The was a slightly better deal in Dixions (slightly lower spec processor but double the memory) however they were sold out at the time (and girls being girls wanted it there and then!). True, had I gone to my usual places for getting pc related bits - Novatech, ebuyer etc I probably could have got something even better but really, for the price you can't complain! The price of laptops have dropped dramatically over the past year or two so in that respect what ever you get will be a bit of a bargain. Andy (still looking for an F7P ben!)

I work as an estimator for a structual steelworks company and at this moment in time I've got a shedload of architectual and engineers drawings scattered across the desk. I work with them all day everyday. In my opinion GOOD sturctual engineers are more saught after. We subcontract to a couple of engineers who work privately and they both make a mint (and neither of which are particularly good in my opinion!) I'd guess that there are more people trying to be architects than engineers meaning the opportunity for work is more open and usually employers need you more than you need them. You'll be able to name your price. Andy

I can only echo what others have already said. Condolences to his family and friends. There have been many tragic losses recently and it only reinforces the life does in fact hang on a shoe string - its just so fragile. Rest in peace - to all our friends. Andy P
