  1. Linked to this thread from another forum. Considering the number of young male drivers on here I thought it would be a very worthwhile read for the most of you. Scroll down to the 4th or 5th post on this page by "10 pence short" - Link Andy P
  2. Yeah yeah, ok I was wrong But wasn't Mike the first to post up on the forum about it? Andy P
  3. Its been done before a few years back now. I used to run tubeless front and rear and it was awesome. Mike Singleton started the fad but it never really caught on. The only reason why I'm not still tubeless is because when my tires got worn down, I couldn't be arsed to get hold of more liquid latex etc. Oh, I also had a drilled rear rim Have a search for it on here. They might have been deleted because it was back in May/June 2005 iirc. Andy P
  4. Just had a little discussion with a mate of mine and we both knew they are able to do 0-60's of around 3.4 secs but neither of us knew what the 0-100mph times were. I've had a search online and can only find 0-100kph or 0-100-0 mph. Anyone know? Andy P

    Hop Idol.

Yeah! Thats got to be one of the best weekends for me, pretty awesome riding infront of a massive crowd. I didn't ride very well at all - so nervous! Jon will remember me throwing up in the toilets before hand!!! hahah, what a wuss. I think the £20 to each Judge before hand worked in my favour though. Andy P (Hop Idol winner 2005 - and still riding for MAD. YEAH I ROCK)
  6. AA or RAC. They deal with things like this on a daily basis. Andy P Failing that, a steel flat/ ruler with a notch cut in it works a treat....
  7. I've suffered from a very strong fast heartbeat from time to time. It will just happen randomly - always whilst riding. The beating is so hard and strong that you can actually see my chest moving through my tshirt and hoodie etc. Its also not strictly related with just being knackered, as I can lie down to relax for 45mins and it will still be going as fast. Makes me feel very dizzy and weak. Went to the doctor and was told I have Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). SVT LINK Andy P
  8. I went just to see faces more than anything. Made me realise that I need to get out on my bike a bit more often! Everyone has progessed so much since last year whereas I've just got worse!!! haha! Great to see everyone though! Andy P RIP DJ
  9. For those that are driving - As you enter portsmouth off the M275 you will come to a large roundabout. Get in the 2nd lane from the right and go straight on. At the 2nd large roundabout you should still be in the middle lane. Follow this round to the right (2nd exit) and stick to the middle lane. You should pass some traffic lights and then reach another (smaller) roundabout still in the centre lane. Head straight over taking the 2nd exit. The left lane branches off to the Cascades shopping centre multistory - you should now be in the left lane (aside from the bus lane) You will shortly arrive at a junction. Stick to your lane and don't branch off left to the train station. Head straight through the traffic lights to the next set. At these lights its the same story - stick to your lane (left) and contine straight on (slight left corner). Travel along in the left lane (right will go to Gunwarf) you will see a speed camera on the opposite side of the road - Remember this when you leave, its a 30mph limit. Straight on at the lights (no choice unless you are in the right lane to turn right). Now you will come to a very large roundabout (thats not round and has buildings in the centre of it...) Stay to the left and head toward the lights. Go straight on (left will take you into Guildhall). You will now be on a single road with a bus lane to your left and a toblerone shaped central divide to your right. You will see Guildhall law courts to your left with curved 1/4 pipe-like walls. When you get to the roundabout, come back on yourself going back the way you came (3rd exit). There are traffic lights halfway round so don't thrash it round. Now take the first road on the left - Middle Street. First left again - Bedford Street. First left again - Middle Street. There is parking on the left hand side for £3 all day. You should be facing the guildhall law courts on the otherside of the road. DO NOT PARK IN THE CAR PARK ON THE RIGHT AT THE END OF THE ROAD - ITS £8 ALL DAY. To get to the Guildhall from here, cross the road directly infront of you. To the right of the Law courts there is a wide path that goes uphill and over a bridge to the meeting point - Guildhall centre. - - - - - Remember the speed camera as you leave Portsmouth - its a 30mph limit. As you join the M275 there is another speed camera - its a 40mph limit (however it won't flash if you are on the far right lane - I don't advise trying this though!) Hope this helps everyone See you there... Andy P
  10. Really don't think the car will be ready for the 20th now. I'll do my best but its not looking likely. As soon as the car is ready I'll be taking it to the strip though. I need to get an official sub 13.8 to qualify for TOTB. Should be easy - I'm hoping for something in the 12's. Also need to make sure I can break 150mph from a standing start over 1.2 miles, but that should be no problem. Andy P
  11. Like many it seems, Engine rebuild permitting I'll be there! Not sure if I'll be able to run the car mind - I don't think it'll be mapped - it'll only be set for fueling for about 300bhp Prawn - I've walked on the strip and its not a lie - it really does pull your shoes off! Smells like bubblegum too Andy P
  12. A cheap alternative to griptape is to mix sand in with paint. Andy P

    My Astravan

Ahaha, sounds good to me Keep us updated on the build! Broken engines are an arsehole but a damn good excuse to make something a bit special. Here's my engine. Andy P
  14. Ooops... didn't think I was THAT bad.. surely theres some worse than me?? Andy P (Also, there were some that I was unsure weather to check or not - they kind of apply to me... would have put my score well in to the 600's almost 700 )
  15. Quiz I got £580.something - how about you? Andy P

Any idea of the cause of this bucky? It was basically just a standard XE lump wasn't it? Big end bolts give up the ghost (although 4th @ 90 won't be very high revs...)? Strange.... Andy P
  17. It was way over 300.. 357.2mph was the top speed. The Jap train holds the record at 361mph however it dosen't actually run on rails, hence the french one holing the "railway" title. Andy P
  18. I've seen it happen a few times where something is bound to sell for say, £80 and someone puts a bid in of say £500 to "secure" the item only to have another person try the same thing. From here on, people then tend to put in faulty bids and the price will escalate rapidly for no good reason. A friend of mine listed his mobile. £60 odd pounds it was at with 11 minutes left. Checked after the listing had ended and it had sold for near on £1000. He contacted ebay and his listing fees were canceled so he didn't loose out on any money BUT he still had a phone to sell (luckily someone emailed him and offered him about £80 for it). In short, only bid up to what you are willing to pay for it - thats the idea of it in the first place! Andy P
  19. Back to the future for the win Andy P
  20. Only checked it for 30 secs max and found that the little popup tag that appears if you hover the cursor "the cotton club site 1" is rather annoying to say the least. Like i said, only a quick glance, not checked all the content yet but it looks to be a rather slick looking site. Andy P
  21. My sign in name for all forums range between Andy P, or AndyP. I find it keeps things simple, and if I meet someone for real (ie at a car meet) I don't have people coming up and saying "Hi rox0rs_my_soxx_off" or something equally stupid. Andy P
  22. I've had a bit of experiance with these. I had to fit one to a S1 Rallye with a 16ver in it. The S1's need slight modification to fit (Have to trim the front a bit). He originally had a massive open cone filter in the engine bay sucking in hot air and the difference between them really was night and day. The engine would pick up much quicker and felt more responsive. Still gives a nice little growl but not overly noisy. Surprisingly, an induction kit that actually works. Andy P

Good find. Now find me a genuine '98 BTCC S40 shell for sale. Andy P
  24. Lol, no I didn't read the whole thread and my response was a joke. When I was a student I had all the "get a job" comments etc - I just wanted a chance to use it myself lol. Oh well. Andy P (still not read the topic, but what ever it is, good luck with it. I was a skint student once before...now I'm just skint)
