  1. I have one (street trials, with normal forks) and its pretty fun. I changed to bb7s, a mini seat, stem, and a different front tire though. Overall, the color is cool, its one of the burliest frames I have ridden, and its a good old school/street trials bike and its fun at the local mtb park. Don't buy this bike JUST because you read this, since I've never even ridden any other street trials bikes. I don't give a crap what people say about the geo and build, its fun to ride.
  2. Hey guys This is a huge bump so I don't know if you'll see it, but I got the snail cams machined! I actually did quite a while ago but I haven't had time to post it. How do I attach a picture? Anyway, I just sent the file out to the laser cutter. One more prototype run, then I'll be doing a production run and hopefully sell them to get money for solidworks. Hopefully it all works out.
  3. Sorry for the little bit off topic, but if you've saw the "because simple" graphics you would see why I wrote "SIMPIE". Its almost as bad as the because "gepler" thats supposed to say "color". Back on topic, I got the big betty because at the time I only found good reviews for it (I probobly should have looked more) but the compoud isn't nearly as nice as even the 60a maxxis. It sounds like you've just about got your mind made up, but if your up for it I'd personally like to hear a good review on the swampthing since I haven't found any from trials riders yet. If I can get the cash together and you haven't tried it I might just go ahead and try the tire. The wet season is coming up and I'll die if I can't replace the big betty. Good luck!
  4. I don't like my big betty. I want to try a maxxis swampthing though. For me a safe bet would be the highroller, or if you feel like trying something new and giving us feedback you should try and find a 42a swampthing.
  5. I guess I've always had a trials bike around since my dad was into the sport way before I was born. I really got into it about 2 years ago. Thanks again!
  6. I don't know if that embedded right. Its the 720p version, a bit less blocky. Anyone know how to get my link to work in the bad quality vid? Thanks for the good feedback. I was 14 when I shot the video, but earlier this month I turned 15.
  7. Finished my video. Excuse the crap quality, youtube killed it. Hope its enjoyable!
  8. Because got the geo of it soooo spot on. Chainstay length is perfect. BB height is easy on the back wheel but still streety. Wheelbase is nice and flicky. I run mine with a 120x20 and 1cm of stackers. Of course I'm only 5ft.... Looks good!
  9. would techno be bad for a trials video? I never listen to music and my all I have access to is my bros techno. I'd like to use sail, but thats over used right?

Thanks! I guess I have no excuse to put it off now......

  10. Just my input from my, and a few other local's, experiences. -We all wouldn't reccomend them -They last just as long as any other snail cam. One of the people has snapped 2 from missed sidehops. -Drill press? Just make sure the you are drilling the center of the axle hole. -Snail cams second hand should be fine if they don't have any divots worn into them from the 5mm frame bolt. Overall, I wouldn't get them and I would use the drill press on some other kind, like the try all cnc or echos. Hope that helps
  11. Need song ideas for my GETCreative edit

  12. http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_pro For those that haven't already edited their video, heres a link for the adobe premier 30 day trial.
  13. After watching this I realized how I was lacking in my gap to fronts. The slow motion parts helped me figure out the body position that I needed to get into when doing the gap. It helped a TON with making the gaps easier. I would like to see a slow mo clip of one of your rear up to rear hops and sidehops. I have issues with those and it seems like you have the technique refined really well.
  14. http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=82074 My Pauls don't even use that hole, so I might not be much help. This might work with some modification though. Edit: Looked at it a bit more and I don't even know if thats for a vee brake.
  15. I did a quick search and found these: http://www.ioffer.com/i/2-light-160mm-disc-rotors-iso-44mm-bcd-red-made-in-usa-121500743 . How are they better/ worse than other rotors?
  16. http://neonbike.net/product.asp?classid=512 The newest 26" bow might be close? Weight:1480g BB:50mm Wheelbase:1085mm Chain stays:380mm. The BB is a bit higher than you're looking for though.
  17. Hi, Just a quick question. I'm changing my brake pad refills (from belaeys to LGMs). Both refills are glued into the backings. Will boiling the pads to get the refills out damage the pad compound at all? Also, are there any tips to doing this? Thanks!
  18. It would be awesome for me if you did the extension. I'd still do alright if you didn't do it, but my shoulder was screwed up and is still healing. I don't want to hop right in, push myself for the video, and then be out of riding for a week.
  19. Thanks! I couldn't find any that didn't look like it would bug up my computer. This one looks nice though.
  20. I still haven't got a better program, so my free autodesk only seems to save .123d (same as .dwg) and .bak files. I somehow saved my snail cams as a .dxf, but I think when I re-installed the program they had updated it and got rid of that feature.
  21. I finished my bashring. Now, to send it to the cnc guy I need to make it into a .DXF file. Any idea how to change a .123d, .DWG, or a .BAK file into a .DXF? Any good file converters, or ones that aren't off of sketchy sites? Snail cams should be here soon...... The 2 bikes are coming out well. I like the forks on the 24".
  22. Are you going to actually lace the rear, or just leave it?
  23. The snail cams were cut, but they aren't shipped out until moday or tuesday. I'll post some pictures up when they get to me. Does anybody know if the student version of solidworks is any different that the "real" verson?
