To be honest, everybody has gone a bit 'The Collective' - hiring/buying expensive dollies, jibs, cranes etc. This style is a bit old now I think? (Even though I have a small Jib arm of my own haha, but only for basic aerial pans etc) Mark, you're completely right about the Dakota Roche section, its already blown even a trailer out of the water haha! Perhaps Electronical lost their feet a little with what riding is all about - its not fluid at all, I mean riding is fluid, but the stuff inbetween riding aint smooth - security, police, stacks, trying a trick over and over until you get it! Im sure there are plenty of people that bum the Electronical style of film-making but it does get a bit bland after a while - they like to play with focus in the trailer, maybe they need to alter theirs a little! Ok I think ive been a little harsh but I dunno lol Oh also, people seem to be using Mini35 adaptors a lot now too, I think this too is over-used. I was considering buying one, but I think raw-shot video with a few lenses is good enough! Which is why I hope 'Seasons' from the guys behind 'The Collective' is going to be decent!

Yeah the HD one is staggered. In fact all online HD videos ive seen (Vimeo etc) are all staggered. High-quality streaming, reduced frame-rate = whats the point in having HD playback if it aint smooth? Never thought I'd say this but yeah, just get as good a SD camera as you can. There's a Panasonic 3CCD camera out (Jack Meek recently bought it, Phil Feeney already had it - used this as a reference point in suggesting it to Jack) but its a little outside of your budget. Widescreen, great image quality! The one Jack bought - Amazon link Its little Brother (cheaper, within your budget, still 3CCD though!) - Amazon link The only downside of these two Panny' cameras is ive always thought the viewfinder sucked! But just use the LCD screen for everything and you can't got wrong - easier usablility that way too! Highly recommend getting a high-capacity battery for the camera too - eBay has everything you need! - Basically just search for your camera and batteries and extra chargers will come up. Ive found if you buy batteries that have the bright green/yellow packaging (made by a company called Espow) then you can't go wrong - ie 100% compatibility + charging rates, as sometimes cameras have circuits in that wont let non-brand batteries charge properly. Hope I've helped!

Had my renewal through from Direct Line for my 1.0ltr Corsa... £215 f/c. Approx £55 down from last year! Although I recon I could get that down a little as well. Direct Line is quite good, you get a 10% discount if one or more of your family is insured with them or if you have your house insurance with them. Dont bother with comparison sites as you will be bombarded with phone calls for two weeks with them all trying to offer you quotes, yes its nice of them, but its just f**king annoying to say the least! Got a quote for insuring a Clio Williams as well... £333.90 f/c. So yes, I'd recommend Direct Line Mike!

If I were you, dont get a hard drive based camera. Generally the quality is below par to that of a MiniDV camera and you can't keep/store the footage as easily as u can with tapes - I mean you CAN, if you want to fill up hard drives - can get expensive! Im not generally a Canon fan, but ive been somewhat impressed with the Canon HV20. A good choice. Uses tapes. But if you really want a hard drive based, high-def camera, ive no idea. Hopefully ive helped a bit? P.S. - Ive linked to Purely Gadgets. You may find cheaper prices on eBay.

Bit off-topic, ish, but mate you should never be affraid or whatever of joining a ride if you see one happening!!! Everybody seems to be supportive these days and its great fun and its not like they'll tell you to go away haha!

Hooooly! That was awesome Mr. C!
-

Vimeo link now up. It looks rubbish though, as a lot of people have been saying about Vimeo playback, its staggering really badly, but the link is HERE as well as in my initial post.

That happened to Martin the South African guy on a London ride once!
-

Nice suit and turn up in one of these!

Love you Dave! I have the VHS cardboard cover from my original copy of Revolution, I think I got it when it came out along with my neighbor who I rode with when I first started riding. Have no clue where the actual tape is though... have a feeling I gave it to this dope-head who I used to work with in the Raleigh Cycle Centre in Guildford, he wanted to get into Trials, shortly after I left the shop though - he never gave it back as far as I can think. But yeah, tempted to buy another copy lol!
-
Yeah I think Reed Merschat (sp) went on to film mostly rock climbing and rallying. Id love a 16" Cannondale... I remember last year's DJ ride in Abingdon, somebody turned up on a proper Beast of the East Ashton replica, immaculate condition cos he hadn't ridden it since passing his driving test haha! Dunno who he was though
-
Ah that was sick! Flow mate!
-
Thanks so much for all the comments guys! Chuffed you all liked it so much, and yeah, in feedback to whoever it was, I agree, perhaps Kooks overkill lol
-
Loved it man! Always good to see you ride cos ur always combining loads of things into your riding
-
Nice chilled ride! Funny, good times can be had in moist conditions
-
Like the rig! Good work guys, good pics

Oookaay ill see what I can do haha! Might have to use some kind of different codec other than H264... EDIT: Ive been fiddling for ages now and I can't seem to get a decent blown-up version that looks good without it being like a million mb for a few seconds. I don't have anywhere to upload that kinda filesize to so im affraid ur gonna have to make do with the 640x360 vid, as it looks better compressed that way lol... anybody who is in the know feel free to tell me any differently - I deleted my account on Vimeo as it just didn't seem to work properly and I hardly ever go on there, bit of shame really, I thought they had a good service going!
-
Ah ok fair enough. Only reason I edited my first post was cos Ive never known Si to charge anything lol! Get well soon dude!
-
Bad luck dude! Hope the six weeks is up really quickly! Out of interest, did Si charge you anything? Cos he seems to offer all this advice, traveling all over the country to see peoples injuries and doesn't charge a penny, which must leave him seriously out of pocket.
