  1. isnt 6mm the dia of the hose??? or did i just pull that out my arse??
  2. broke up with my gf of 3 and a half yrs when it pretty much came down to a "its me or the bike" moment she always said i never spent time with her, did something silly dangerous (she only had to take me to hospital once) and i spent too much money on my bike. now im single i have more money, more time and a lot less stress. its harsh but if its what you love doing then prospective partners should mines on the way from the good people of howies!!!
  3. loved that vid! amzing style, what proper street riding should be. that 360 tyre tap up some kinda bench thing was super smooth. its also funny thinking with the value of your bikes you could actually buy a large house in poland, or feed and clothe a family for nearly a year (well almost)
  4. if u dont want to shell out for the Monkeylites then ust go for some EA70s they are about half the price and just as strong EA70s are half an inch narrower than the double walls, feels very diferent to me too but hasnt affected my riding in any way, but i feel more confident they wont bend in two when i land, i did like the feel of the double walls but snappage put me off, i cant afford more new teeth!
  5. snapped mine, they took some abuse for just under a year im not the lightest rider. they went eventually on a gap to front wheel over a stream, could have been worse. if you want decent risers go for easton EA70s pricey but they are tough stuff mate rik has snapped 2 sets and another set of azonics (cant remember model) bent on him, cant be that many faulty pairs?? but you do have 13 inch of travel to help them and one drop isnt really enough to say they are tough
  6. its called trials, you should try it some time
  7. oh my how lovely is that, so smooth and well presented, please dont ever scratch it
  8. have to agree with the above, bring back the pashley, but if ur selling the frame i know someone who WILL take it off ur hands depending on condition price etc
  9. end of oct before his bike comes, it'll be stripped down sprayed and then built up asap ready for us to hit addingham no doubt
  10. you should see my wheel builds front hope silver ex721 on black XC hub with silver spokes drive side into black nipples, and balck spokes into silver nipples on non drive. rear wheel DX32 on pro2T and then the spokes are sections 8 silver then 8 black then 8 silver then 8 black will sort some pics out soon looks pimp if u ask me oh and i bought koxx reds because they match my frame (work so poorly though). biggest pimps ever are ash (trialnoir) who spends days polishing his gu, and my mate rik, will get pics of his new phase when it comes through, there will be no bike as tricked out as this, all black with custom hope parts XT components, and the most unique wheel builds ever (hence how i have got such fancy wheels)
  11. i stopped buying mbuk about 2 years ago when my subs ran out. i didnt continue it because i decided to buy private eye instead (read that and some of you will have a right rant im sure). i remeber reading my first ever copy way back in 1999, martyn ashton was on the cover and the article blew me away, what he was doing on that beastly cannondale was just silly thats the one. i got hooked, changed my bike to look just like his. (bit of idol worship but hey who cares really???), i bought ever issue from then on, and even saved a my favourite poster of ashton 360 spinning into a swimming pool so i could get him to sign it (if you read this mart cheers for the autograph at the bike show in 2001). i have always worn jeans and a pair of vans shoes to ride in, mainly because jeans protect me shins more ( ) i like that image, i feel comfortable riding in that attire. martyn raises points in his column that im sure loads of people think or chat about between themselves yet as soon as he mentions it in the press he gets slated for having an opinion. for those of you not familiar with the national press ALL newspapers have editorials and comments 9hey are what get people like kilroy into trouble), its the great thing about living in our nation that freedom of speech. yes not everyone holds the same views and what a boring world we would live in if that was the case. but to slate someone so viciously as people have done is immature and not good for our sport, no one wants to create factions of "gays in trackies" v "jeans are cool" at comps or at street rides. recently in sheffield i bumped into neil tunni and paul (zoo rider) two top lads whose riding styles were very different to mine and im pretty sure tunni was wearing trackies (correct me if im wrong neil), we all got on fine and had a laugh despite differing styles and abilities. just accept other peoples views, ok disagree but do it sensibly and intelligently. ask why people hold those opinions and then we could understand others better. (maybe george w bush should try this intead of bombin people back to the stone age, allegedly) same can be said over the arguements between certain bike parts not mentioning any particular debates but everyone knows what i mean. each to their own. shows how much martyn cares about his sport if he is coming on here though doesnt it and how he isnt actually out of touch seen as though he knows this is where the majority of riders come when its raining hands up who thinks this might make it into his column next month
  12. try all for natural i think they suck on street i used a michelin comp 24 for ages on front, wear rate was impressive its still in good nick however on natural it sucked, folding and skidding on anything that wasnt flat, slightly irritating to say the least
  13. my little brother has just had his cruciate ligament remade (as in it was completely snapped so the doc made him another one from random tendons!!!! all for around £8000 i think). some old fat bloke got fed up of him taking him on in a footy match so quite literally just crippled him anyway he has been on crutches for 5 months and has been told to swim and do no weight bearing exercises, eg leg raises and add weight as he feels comfortable. keep doing excercise every day and see a physio it will be worth it because u dont want to do the wrong thing ad end up screwing things up. depending on what your injury was depends on what u can do, hope u recover quicker than my bro will, 1 year till he can even think of doing certain things and 3 yrs minimum before he can get back to playing football
  14. GHz will ride sooooo much better than ur MAD. my geo is 1040 with hifi forks (as trialnoir said) 0mm bb rise 384stays running 175 burns 90/10 hope stem EA70 mid rise bars piccie (forks, wheels, bars changed since this was taken) i think this is such a nice set up, i wanna try a longer stem but cant afford my mate also rides a GHz with following geo pashley forks giving it approx 1030 wb again 0 mm bb rise thompson 120 mm stem, answer bars with i think 1.5 inch/2 inch rise 170 burns
  15. holy flurkin shnit!!!! since when has hooking a rail/gate thing been fair game, insane!!! to quote andrew titley (chainspotting) "he's just made us all look sh*t now!"
  16. no it isnt, and thats before all the optional extras you can whack on there! make proper comparisons ST-3 2.5i Duratec 20V (225PS) 6 speed manual F2 £20,395.00 (from the ford price guide) still it is an expensive camera
  17. weird question but....... why do the majority of these lasses have cameras in the ceiling??? or is that just me??
  18. benji, how would tuesday of this wk sound to u? i could come over monday after work and we could hit the streets. ill prob give u a ring soon we should also harrass jim, he may be gettin lazy in his old age, maybe even rouse john boy from the dpeths of his bike/chris king filled cellar i miss sheffield!!!!! miss u too though
  19. xen E2 or hex, try the medium size, will look smaller, or if u want to make the xen loook smaller on ur head just put the animas on lol smaller shell helmets are hard to come by i think, but there is a make called cratoni that make some very nice ones, priced about £70. very comfy to wear and cool choice of colours
  20. cool vid there rik you guys are gettin rather good all of a sudden. vid kinda ends sharpish but full of good stuff
  21. yeah i think airevalley have one, but that might be the jack flash or pitbull either way defo give them a ring
  22. mate has one on order i'll let u know how it actually rides pete before you sue them for something or other
  23. definitely agree with mr ashton. think the reasons the trialskings became so huge was that their style was very new. most vids these days seem to follow a trend of big gaps, sidehops, taps etc and on lines that have been done before as if to say look at me i'm good for doing this gap. true the riders in question have talent and balls for doing the stuff they do and i probs couldnt myself but nothing is inspiring me these days. there have been few examples of really varied videos to me knowledge (any one know of some point em out to me i wanna add to collection) rowan's vid was amazing, as was the 24 inch section in tm2. the 26twenty vids have a real selection of styles and bens riding is like no one elses ive seen (for those who havent seen any of the vids his style is very bmx oriented on a monty 20" - download the vids they are sweet really watchable). ali c produced some good vids a while ago. we need more vids like trial noir, porters section of gaps and big street style set along side waynio's natural talent on the rocks (oh the pun), and akrigg's riduculous unparalleled style on anything he rides. push your limits guys, instead of sidehopping a wall try manuallin/180 spins/stoppie to the wall, switch to back wheel and no correction hops up into the move. move away from the pull trick land and try flowing sections on street eg chainspotting; ashton in newbury over the benches (for those of us over 20 who remember that 18inch cannondale!) think it might have been under pressure or the time there was that show with the tongues, the martins and akrigg showing all sides of trials on bbc2
