  1. can we keep this topic rant free please, and comment more on the photos/bikes the 231ti is lovely even nicer in the "flesh" and prior to this bike ash rode a gu so i think if anyone can comment on which is better its him calm down folks its only a topic on trials forum not the Nuremburg Rallies
  2. if you are coming to england then you have to go to addingham moorside, or shipley glen or both!! they are my favourite places to ride and i would choose to tride there over anywhere else i think. street wise new york seems cool, as does barcalona. prob like to ride in australia from what ive seemt here are lines a plenty on the beach fronts
  3. el distorto de melodica by everclear, awesome instrumental and also they won an award for it (translated as the distorted melody) you tube random link with some dodgy video, but have a listen to the song
  4. probs ur front cog as has been said above. to add to what has been said old worn cogs wear all your new stuff to the exact state your old stuff was in only a few rides. sounds like its goin to be whole new lot needed
  5. can i jump in on this one and ask if ur light dims when ur phone charges because mine doesnt only had phone a week and a half sorry to hijack the thread
  6. couple of photos from the weekend, i can safely say i wasnt on form on the sunday, few too many beverages on the sat night! pictures dont give an idea of how windy addingham was on sunday anyway, here are some of the "best shots" but comments would be nice Matt Rushton Lee - this is uneditted prety cool i think Me, about the best i could manage as sketchy as they come! Ash hook at Shipley on his shiney new 231ti (pimp bike) Small drop off (no doubt trying not to get any mud splatters on new bike) Not a bad image from my digi-cam comments welcome guys, cheers
  7. don't bring me into this! its true shell breakages shouldnt happen, hence the re-design, yes it is dangerous, and i wouldn't wish it on anyone, but incidents are RARE . its a toss up between strength and weight, which has been changed now due to failures which did not happen during the lengthy testing of this hub i wouldnt say its arguing, more discussing which is the whole idea of a forum. plus ash does get info straight from hope so its not like he spouts off made up rubbish, nor is he simply making "arguement" for "arguement's" sake to wind people up and make enemies. now i think thats a rather diplomatic response
  8. crank bro 50-50 big old pedal maybe a bit overkill but lovely grip wellgo v12 copies sealed bearing unit for £30 (which i run) wellgo magnsium £40 light as anything and again fully sealed (these are by far the best value ones out there) DX are lush, and you get a full set fo replacement pins Azonic X-pedals (Xtension pedals) really really grippy i used to use for trials but they didnt stand up to a beating but would prob do for xc (pricey but pimp)
  9. tim steadman aka malvern rider on here has launched a few stair sets on his pashley dont knwo if he still does this after a certain bar snappage incident in bristol
  10. that lap by jamie oliver was unbelievable, to say that you can take off 4 secs for a wet lap and he was still only bout 1 sec behind ramsay, that was goin some, they should put him on the track when its dry. that crash was unreal! his reactions were good u could see him turn the wheels into ths skid but at that speed there was pretty much nothing he could have done aside from soil himself their real lesson should be "never say 'just one more go/last try etc...' as it really does lead to mishaps"
  11. its really difficult to make natural look "good" unless you know what to look for in lines that are being done its not as easy to say yeah thats amazing. by which i mean; on street lining up for a sidehop u can judge the height against the bars, natural lines tend to be more technical where a riders skill and balance is tested more. some angles were not too bad, but again filming and editting natural is very difficult, good choice of song though i thought it fitted riding well more variation in this video though than some others on here, you are a quality rider and will comprehensively beat me in tykes this year! get a proper vid sorted soon now weather is gettin nicer (ha!)
  12. not to my knowledge loads of people use it but then i just run magura/mineral oil
  13. make sure u put anti freeze in it at this time of year
  14. i'm sure it was part of CITV on a saturday/sunday morning. most likely sunday as i only got to watch it on the rare occasssion rugby training was cancelled awesome show but not as good as fun house
  15. i'll be spending valentines day with the one true love of my life, my bike! sounds like a good day all round
  16. as it was (and will be again) long at the front short at the back, blonde highlights dark brown low lights (yes i spend ages in the hair dressers but the lasses who work there are fit) no i dont straighten it (unlike josh ) and how it tends to be with little effort or at the end of a night out as shown here right now though i stupidly had it cut short and i really dont like it and refuse to be seen without helmet on!
  17. see u there mate, me and ash will be goin up provided its not snowing, you goin to come to shipley on sat as u can tell im addicted to riding rocks right now
  18. my my, never a truer word spoken!!! (well maybe in the world but not on this topic thats for sure) was speaking to wayne at shipley last weekend about this matter and myself, wayne and ash agreed that we have had no problems with the hub on this scale, i destroyed a bearing (the little one the freehub runs on (ali c has done this too so i believe)) doing (large) tyre taps to fakie, but shell splitting is slightly worse than that. and surely wayne goes big???? im just a heavy lump of a rider who isnt that smooth and lands stuff terribly all the time ive had the same pro2 shell for 18 months. also, ali c, he fair sends his bike over gaps etc so i personally woudlnt say its the way the riders "go big" but name an occassion where hope havent simply replaced the hub in question FOC, if you have an issue ring hope or email them and explain the problem to them, they are more than happy to help, if you do ring ask to speak to someone who can give you more info/specific detail/help on the pro 2t hub. the redisgn is due to the feedback they are gettin so keep it coming dont just rant on a forum, also dont just reserve feedback for negative side of things, let them know if you like the hub, and why u like it, drop them an email
  19. don't do what i did and insult where you come from, only to find out thats where your interviewer lives....not the best start
  20. not surprised he is national champion! have you got any videos of him riding competitions/natural trials? would be very good to see. some of the lines he does in this are very impressive especially the fountain lines and the wheel swap on that strange structure about 20/30 seconds in (couldnt tell really on time) only thing i would say is make the future videos shorter. he deserves at least some part sponsership if not full he has more talent than some sponsered riders i've seen, good luck to him this video also deserves more comments, come on guys show some love
  21. lets go for saturday, would be best for me im planning a heavy night on the tiles sat night so wouldnt be on form on sunday, but if the majority say sunday then ill be along then stan you reckon u can get ali and adam over, and even tempt dave to ride some rocks?
  22. headset removal tool thingy, surely its possible to use an old seat pin and make it like that if not just use an old seat pin thats what i used to do
  23. i could possibly see it happening, but in the street arena it may be quite difficult to find the perfect spot. i'm thinking along the lines of bmx here but there are lots of moves (mainly in parks) where riders back flip to tyre tap/manual/ice pick stalls that kinda thing could come into trials, eg flip out of a banking to wall then gap, something like that. martyn ashton can backflip quite handily now perhaps he is trying this somewhere around porthcawl? would be amazing to see that bmx front flip bomb drop is insane, guy has some serious melons to attempt that! there is a foam pit at my local skatepark (interact) im always tempted to have a go at a flip, but i think i would prob bottle out and hurt myself
  24. absolutely quality riding in both vids, really nice technical lines and big moves, keep it up ali, no doubt see you up shipley glen sometime good work
  25. jeans were perhaps not the order of the day! may invest in some tackies sometime had an awesome ride once again, so many people up there despite the weather, all good fun and made the KFC on the way home all the more rewarding! oh and p.s. thanks for the pads ben, been needing some for ages!
