  1. have sent you a pm tommy d regarding short stems, should interest you cheers
  2. ditto that wayne! ring them on 01282 851200 or email them via their web site, often its more useful to get in touch with manufacturer/suplier before moaning and bitching on here
  3. yeah HD1 rocks i also remember the soil kicker outtakes i think its where they get kicked off by the so called owner of the wall, and he asks adam burns for his name he says "i'm dave, dave finney" quality! the wall was massive, they ran a higher gear to get speed off the flat, holroyd did it to bash first but dont think he nailed it to back wheel. whoever says holroyd is over rated seriously just rewatch your trialsking vid collection and retract that statement. the NOFX vid that was linked earlier has the funniest clip when danny drops the telephone box and the astra turning the corner totally misjudges it because he is distracted by danny and is pretty close to hittin a parked car
  4. useful info, but i already tried that, ive just switched all footage from pc to my laptop and its working fine on this one, and im transferring from a cd at same time, also its not as powerful comp as my pc temperamental i think, if anyone can be more specific i would be grateful, merci
  5. the danny holroyd promo vid, exceptionally poor quality and a 4 hour download on 56k but worth it otherside fulc korn and pretty much every trialskings clip they put on, the ones that never made it to a vid, james hyland if you read this come out of video retirement and slap em all together evolve chainspotting contact tricks and stunts
  6. ok heres the problem...i'm importing a song in mp3 format into this basic video editting software, windows movie maker, yet when i drag and drop the music into the tool bar for the vid it crashes, ive tried loads of songs and only 1 works, anyone know why this may be? the song plays fine when it is in the "collections" bit problems only occur when i try put it in the "movie" ive tried putting clips into vid first and then song, putting the song in first, cutting the song into little bits it all does the same, the wonderful error report message box come up, its gettins annoying now so i think ill be handing it over to the techonlogically sound people on here help please.....
  7. song wasnt to my liking but i hit the mute button for the second time of watching and if im being honest it did fit with your vid really well, really nice flowing vid, some really nice techy street lines there on a long bike! really nice varied vid, didnt get bored watchin it, and some ideas for moves i think i might have to try to liven up my riding a bit. good stuff yet another quality vid from the house of maher, i expect the next one wil be out in about a week am i right
  8. now i wonder who built that wheel for u ???? looks good josh, but the forks kinda ruin the smoothness for me
  9. rik from colne (semtex on here) snapped his pure so i'm lead to believe... lacking a head tube?? correct me if im wrong
  10. 8 months good for a frame!!!! i'd expect more for my £250 pounds than that, but then i am from yorkshire seriously what are these frames made of if thats good goin? been thrashing my pashley 26Ghz for over 2 years, and anyone who has ever ridden with me will tell you i dont treat it well and am not the lightest rider. two lancastrians crackin frames within a month, must be something in the water, or the pies?
  11. just been looking through all the rides planned for this wkend i'm assuming everyone knows its World War rememberance sunday so lots of towns will be holding services etc i dont know where you guys are planning on riding exactly but how about everyone who goes straps a poppy onto themselves or bike just to show some respect and avoid areas that might have meaning to others. its a sombre time for lots of people lets not ruin each others days. any way enjoy your rides where ever you go i gotta work!

    Jsy

some really good shots in there, were they filmed with mobile phone cams because quality wasnt as good as some of ur other vids? riding is awesome, i defintely prefer the street style you have with the GHz, but then i am bias. why did you change, any particular reason? nice little vid on the whole
  13. cat eye personal safety lights, they bungee around ur bike and run on watch batteries 2 LEDs and very bright for what they are, 3 modes too! good price £9.99 each RRPrear one at wiggle
  14. that gap at st georges is simply stupid!!! top stuff, me and mates always joked about giving that a go massive gap at the roxy too sidehops to rails and then 180 front pivot, that is seriously impressive, and is likely to have resulted in a few humourous offs, outtakes lurking anywhere??? again was just gettin into it made me want to see more.....
  15. my god how sore was your arse great vid, really well editted and some mint riding, was just gettin into it though as it ended.
  16. If hope had released guidelines as to how tight to tension the spokes would any of you have a tensiometer to check this? They retail at £200, doubt it some how! Anybody who builds wheels for a living (me A Cytech NVQ Level 1,2 and 3 qualified technician) knows that tension is paramount, too tight and this is what happens, too slack and the wheel falls apart. In trials its a lot more important because the wheel is under a LOT more stress! To think that a lot of you build your own wheels worries me, building a wheel is classed more as an artform as oppossed to a skill. (quote the builder of hopes team wheels, and the builder of the set of pro2s on DT rims that scored 10/10 in MBUK 2 months ago) If you want to know how to build a wheel properly read "The art of wheel building - Gerd Schraner" (Buonpane Publications) I suggest most of you wannabees do this!!! The hub/wheel in question has split like this due to it being the weakest part. A wheel is built to take a small amount of stress from riding. Spokes (even cheap plain guage spokes) are extremely strong! Where the nipples sit in the eyelets of the rim, the force there is spread over a greater surface area than on the hub flange, where all the spoke heads meet. Logically think about how much more stress there will be in such a small area, (on the flange) in comparrison to how much room there is around the nipple for the forces to be spread. Argument over! P.S. I'm glad your sorted now Rob. posting for work mate
  17. yeah dale, i had braces for years, then went and smashed out all the good work. my fixed one came out while eating skittles in the cinema, with me gf at the time, humourous! never had a prob when riding with mine you should try sleeping with a soft mouth splint in, thats fun, but it stops me trying to rip my false tooth out with my bottom teeth, adverse reaction to the work ive had done!
  18. have to say that these debates about hope pro2ts get blown out of all proportion!! ash has put his arguement across in a rather odd way but what he says is correct. over tightened spokes are being blamed by the designer of the pro 2t. think about it, if everything is as tight as it can be then something has to give. its an art to building a wheel well, thats why i never attempt to build my trials wheels, i can make a good stab at my XC builds but only trust a few select wheel builders for my trials wheels. i've used a pro2 since before pretty much anyone here, i have smashed the same bearing as ali c (doing tyre taps and dropping into fakie), and the ratchet wore away on one of the lighterweight ptototypes i had. onzaboymark, the bearings are being developed to move away from the standard bearing to something better, more suitable, but again i cant say any more and hope will only release when ready. ok its a pain breaking stuff, but hope will replace you hub no doubt, just dont start saying they are ultimately the worst product you ever bought. as for hope in this case, they have branched out from XC/DH to trials, their first attempt, surely every company only refines things over time from their first venture (eg MS windows always has bugs that then get rectified as these things come to light) now hooe know of all problems, they are working to change things everyone just get down of their high horses and accept things break, problems occur, and companies will do all they can to get something sorted for you and future customers. if you have a problem discuss with the company in question (via phone of email), numerous supercycles threads spring to mind, dont simply come on here and shout off, it helps no one. then again a forum is meant for debate and we live in a democracy where free speech is protected, you would be shot for slaggin off companies in north korea
  19. anyone who wants to know why this happens just ask ash (trialnoir) there are two schools of thought, both possible
  20. pretty obvious when one eye just never points where it should i've had an operation on left eye to try make it work, -9 is pretty bad but at least they both work! and the bad news is everyone gets more shortsighted (i.e. -diopters) as they grow older. not entirely true, the lenses are made so that they focus the vision in the fovea (main point of retina) when you are long/short sighted the lens of your eye focuses light either behind/in front of the retina and thats why you cant see, lenses of the glasses solve this, so yes your perception is altered but only to correct it,so what you see is what it actually is. judging distance can be improved by some new lenses, ive got them in my sunglasses (they reduce glare, like dark lenses, but also enhance the contrast, like light enhancing yellow lenses you see cricketers wearing as the light fades), amazing but do cost around £300 lenses only
  21. the lever is called the "moto" the brake name is as yet undecided they have 1000's of entries to sift through some people put a lot of thought into it, designed logos, did graphics using computer packages etc, hope were surprised by the entrants' quality, however, there were some lets say pretty lame ideas to say the least will be decided by end of this month as that is when the brake will be released (fingers crossed)
  22. your glasses should never fall off your head unless they arent fitted properly, i should know i've worn glasses since i was 10 months old, so 22 years now and my dad is an optician. i ride with glasses/sunglasses that have straight sides (not wrap around), they dont even move. ive got 3 pairs of glasses, and have no problems because they have been fitted correctly. take yours back to your opticians and get him/her to fit them properly, they should have done it when you picked them up and so should do the adjustement free of chrage. as for judging distances only one of my eyes actually works, my left eye doesnt stay still long enough to focus, i cant judge distance or see in 3D (even with those red/green glasses). how i can even ride trials is beyond me, just stick ur bike in the gap/next to the up to get an idea of the size then go from there, usually takes me a few attempts to get it right but i just keep firing myself at it. use your bike as a size guide if you cant do with riding in ur glasses. (p.s. if you're worried about driving i'm about as close to illegal as you can be, just memorise the number plates around the test centre for your test, worked for me )
  23. think ill make an appearance next week sometime for a ride, ive got day off on tues and thurs so ill be in touch with ben to organise him, and weather permitting hit some of the more familiar spots, how i miss uni........
  24. why not get a pro 2 front hub only £10 more and so much lighter
  25. off topic but..... the benefits of EU membership, cant believe your transition in prices has been that quick though (my god i did pay attention during my economics lectures)
