  1. I was wondering something similar-ish on the bike out of it's habitat question, I took my xc bike down some downhill sections this morning just crouched with the seat wedged between my legs, was a real grapple trying to keep it upright, but it's mega satisfaction if you can get through a section. So much fun riding a bike not built for purpose.
  2. The sound of this beast just never gets old!
  3. "I wrote a story the other day in past tents." What a way with words some people have. At a meeting recently I heard two good ones in quick fire succession: "I'm livid with such allegations, and think it of utmost importance that we speak with these alligators immediately... Sir, I've been informed of numerous consultations taking place, and would request to know who it is they have been consultating with."
  4. Hmm. It's a very small criticism really, it's a bit loud and arrogant, taking this literally (don't see how else you choose a name, i'm sure it's not some arbitrary indifference ) but do people want to be seen to think it's making others jealous, as there is a bit of implication.. I really like the look of it though, and I'm sure it'll gain it's reputation from how it rides,
  5. Had some really strange sounds coming of my Corsa this afternoon like a hollow metal tube being hit/scraped, repeating every 30 yards in a sort of explosion of little ping sounds. Drove just a little bit got out and checked wheels and underneath nothing that I could spot that might cause it. It went away of it's own accord but what could it be?
  6. If you're that way inclined one of the greatest songs recorded ever in my opinion, and this isn't new.
  7. Tasty bike bet it rides like a treat, but my preference for bikes is always something solid that can take a beating. Nevertheless 6.57 kg.. wow!!
  8. That's a beautiful Strat you've got there!
  9. Ah brilliant that's the one
  10. Definitely now you say it! I was pointing out the fact it's such an unnecessary precursor to many statements which I would take to be true whether if it was or wasn't there, so it annoys me by the sheer number of times it crops up in these people's sentences, but the cases of use that you gave are prime examples of going against the real meaning of the word which is needless to say worse. Another one that I've heard recently is "tishnow" in place of what should be just now...
  11. I utterly abhor the use of the word "literally" in any such sentence where the actuality of what was said wasn't in doubt for a single f*cking second. "I was literally furious when somebody took my wing mirror off", well my God, thanks for clearing that up if you had just said you were furious I would have assumed it was a metaphor and you were delighted about it. Seems since the advent of social media the English used by kids, and adults alike, has gone pretty downhill. The worst thing of the lot has to be intentional misuse of language to try and fit in with a bunch of illiterate twits, but everyone to their own!
  12. Looking for a link or name to a Russian bmx video which was posted on here around 2009-10 maybe a year or so either way, I'm sure the title had some acronym in it for something like Russian federation bmx or along those lines. The two things I can remember is that the songs were: Fatal Bazooka - Fous Tagoule (don't ask why I know that, it's beyond cringe-worthy ) and the other song was something by Drop kick Murphys - ??, the other distinguishing point was that they were speaking to some chick in a Bikini but had no idea what they were saying Thanks! Um yeah this was meant to be posted in bike chat made a mistake....

    Vapers Thread

They're not exactly inconspicuous things, could be mistaken for a clarinet, however, if they provide a help to those trying to quit smoking then that's great. My gripe is that I always assumed they were just a means to an end but it seems that people who wouldn't go near this sorts of thing are starting to see them as something to mess about with, which isn't too big a deal but glamorizing them isn't a wise move in my opinion!
  14. Delighted for him, riding with such panache and to see him establish more time from the field when in the lead is an immense achievement!
  15. When I started practicing them I found it hard trying to put a decent pedal kick into the move as I had in my head the bike would just lurch forward, keeping your eyes completely focused on where you want the front wheel to land corrected this for me though so you can really give it some.
  16. My take on his situation was probably harsh, it's not even that he's got slower over the last few years just his competition seem to have got quicker. He's always there or there abouts and can consistently finish in a top 3 position on most sprint stages its just that last little bit that has been challenging in the last year or so. He'll without doubt get a good few more stage wins, and as you say at 30 he's still got a future ahead of him, but maybe not the complete stranglehold that he once had ( which after all makes for better competition)
  17. Annoyingly Etixx Quickstep essentially built one half of their team around the sprint train for Cav: with Mark Renshaw, Matteo Trentin and Tony Martin in front of you I genuinely reckon you'd be hard pushed to find a better lead out train.. and yet it just goes to show that the likes of Greipel and Sagan's raw power alone beats these teams scrupulous preparations in what would seem like an effort to thwart Cav's demise from the top. I may well eat my words after today's stage but it seems like they've put far too much faith in him to return to the form he was in when he was part of HTC Highroad in 2011 by just surrounding him with the big guns previously mentioned. With their yellow jersey gone and the points competition not going quite to plan they must be feeling pretty frustrated about putting too many eggs in one basket.
  18. Cav's definitely not everybody's cup of tea, comes across as being incredibly arrogant in interviews, however, would still like to see if he's got anything left in him from his 2009-2012 days when he was the man to beat come the last 500m- but it would seem not
  19. Would be good to see Cavendish get a stage win, but Greipel just looks too strong for him and Sagan when it comes down to the last 200m, the guy's got some savage power!
  20. Top bloke and such an experienced rider. Personally I'd love to see him lead Sky, and even to see him go for a GC position rather than riding in a Domestique role for Froome.
  21. Amazing the time gaps for this stage into the tour. At least he's got Geraint Thomas along side him on the cobbles to show him how its done, but if it does rain it'll undoubtedly be sketchy in parts.
  22. Double hard, just shows how tough these guys actually are.
  23. Chuffed! Think he'd been needing to ride a bit more aggressive like he did today rather than being passive and waitng for mountains, a shame for the riders involved in the crash though!
