I think the statistic is that if you hit someone at 30mph, 2 in 10 will die. At 40 mph, 8 in 10 will die. Yes, there are obviously the very lucky/unlucky ones, but to say speeding makes no difference is also stupid. You have to play the percentages Having said that, I'm not a big fan of speed cameras. I don't really think that they're making the world safer, people just know how to avoid them. Plus they can't catch the drunk drivers, the people driving wrecklessly etc like a real person can. But I really, really, don't want to get into an argument over how good speed cameras are. If you don't break the law, you won't get a fine
