Good stuff, shame it wasnt longer. Loved the fakie to sidehop. If i had the money kicking about i'd love to try riding a 24" trials bike, i think it might suit me.

A steel DMR sidekick was 'trials specific' When EVERYONE had raceline yellow maguras. When you could still actually do wheelies because you had a seat high enough that you didnt rub your arse on the wheel. (for people near bedford/luton/dunstable) When attitude cycles was still open!

Haha i know 90% of people had them, just never knew tarty every had one. Mind you the only pictures ive seen of him he was in his girlfriends underwear.... (lets not go there, eh? but feel free to defend yourself tart haha)

Sweet, can't wait to see what pops up with v2.2. Hopefully the skins wont change too much.

Top stuff Tom, thats good stuff. Maybe an announcement/sticky in the rides & locations forum to make everyone aware of it?

The Tongue bro's, Akkrigg, The Mart's, The Evolve/revolution riders (lenosky, leech etc), and i'd probably take some rotation lessons off of Phil Feeney too, as he can spin like nothing ive ever seen and i'm the total opposite)

In all honesty you'll be spending more than 5k on a corsa if you want it to beat fast cars. Also as your main car, it won't be very reliable atall. I'd seriously consider waiting till you have a better car, then buy another corsa and do it as a project. (edit: oh, it is apparently) Its not just a case of a corsa and an old XE or LET engine, its machinging new engine mounts, gearboxes and possibly mounts, clutches, brakes, wheels that the brakes will fit underneath, anti roll bars, coilvers, decent exhausts, and even then all you'll have is a standard astra engine and the ability to slow down efficiently afterwards. The main reason people put C20LET and C20XE engines into old vauxhaulls is because of the tuning potential, but because of the money you want to spend you wont really get far into any tuning. If you want to surprise people, as snappel said, get and old performance ford or something, rs2k or similar, because most people will still only see it as some old banger of an escort. Some easier transplants you may want to consider: Astras: Mk3 engines go straight into other mk3's IIRC, and Mk4 engines go straight into other mk4's. check out www.migweb.co.uk and www.astrasport.co.uk for info. Fiestas - very easy to do engine tranplants, can even put reconditioned 2.1 mondeo zetec lumps in them. Mk4 fiesta interiors fit straight in and theyre generally very simple to work with. Eva Green from the new bond film is apparently french, and she's a stunner.

We so need that techniques forum back!

It is the same engine actually. either the C20XE or the C20LET, the latter being the turbo'd version.

What astra are you getting it out of, because no mk3 or mk4 LET would cost £13k these days. you could probably get a 2.0T Sri astra H for that price. You can buy a complete MOT'd Mk3 Gsi with a redtop in it for 3k (or not much more). As for the interior just sign up on corsa-sport.co.uk and get a second hand GSI interior or something and a more up to date dash. Retrims are a waste of money unless youre going all out. The point people are making is dont waste money on big exhausts (as they actually reduce power output due to there being less back pressure) and a lot of vauxhalls (not sure about corsas) suffer from heatsoak, so any induction kit will also do nothing but make things worse, a more common mod with VX's is a modified airbox and larger intake pipe, or to get something like a BMC CDA. Engine mods tend to be quite specific to certain manufacturers these days so i'd look into options and the pros and cons before buying things you may well not need. Ive see threads like this time and time again on car forums, people saying "i just want to do this and this, stop moaning at me, its personal choice" but the fact is that one day they'll finally think "actually, they were right". IMO look past how people word stuff and see it as an education as opposed to a slagging. A lot of people on this forum have probably been there, done that, and sat back wonderig why they bought that silly exhaust or spent £100 on those shiny tail lights. edit: also, as for squeaky seats in a 12 year old car, thats something you'' never fix. Takethe seat out, clean everything up and amke sure its all done up tight again.

Just keep the astra that the engine comes with.

I like the colour scheme youve got going on to be honest. Maybe a black/grey skin? The blue is bright, mut smart and still fairly subtle, so i like that. You know where on the member list you've got posts/member number/name etc? can you add a location box to that so you can sort the list by ascending/descending alphabetical member location?
-
Cool, i see your concerns but if you live between places then its only really 2 sub forums to check. I do agree in big city rides where people travel down though. Maybe a sticky with regional member lists though? Maybe get someone else to mod that though, as with 11k+ members it might get a bit busy.
