  1. quick and easy, i tok my frame to a local metal prep place, 5 mins and £5 later, all sand blasted off with a nice finish, deal! toby
  2. We stock the justice, seems to be the same thinking between the effect and justice. I like thtm both, but a few simple bits would really enhance the bikes performance, like wider bars!! little xc race bars are not wide enough by any means for the justice! and hub quality on the rear isnt very good atall! toby
  3. Any good local bike shop should be able to do it for you, its not overly hard mate. Where abouts are you based? toby
  4. feeling brave, take the lowers off the fork, find the big bolt that goes all the way throuh the fork into the cart or base of return spring. Pile millions of washers on the big bolt. and voila! you have a hard fork!! toby
  5. ok, my view, i always run front freewheel, i dont use bash much but it suits me. I run a fixed rear hub, a trialtech, with a 15 tooth screw on hub, and an 18 tooth freewheel. works perfectly, not to heavy and not to flicky. You could run a rear freehub, like a pro trials hub, but in my experience they are heavier and not as manmy engagements, plus freewheels are easier and cheaper to repair/replace! could run a 20 tooth front and 16 tooth or 17 tooth rear? toby
  6. if its what im thinking of, you may need to either file or angle grind the heads off to get the chainring off, it does mean you won't be able yto fit another ring though, but if thats what you want to do. Like said, get pics, it may nees a special bolt tool! toby
  7. I've work in the professional bike industry now for 4 years. None of our riders are allowed to ride without helmets in any discipline. It sets a bad example to younger people and its damn dangerous. I used to be a ride of no helmet, and on day i crashed, put the brake lever through my eyelid and my helmet saved the rest of my face. Everyone i ride with wears a helmet, its just stupid not too. Asking for trouble if you ask me, any helmet is better than nothing. toby
  8. 2 years ago, new years eve at 2pm. Tapped a 5 foot wall, wind caught the front wheel and sent my brand mew mini mono brake lever through my eyelid n into my orbital socket. Cracked cheek bone and ripped out my tear duct! Spend 3 days in hospital having it all stitched back up, what you cant se in this pic is that you can see my eye through the gash too!! enjoy! toby
  9. As mentioned, get a second hand inspired bike. Ride the nuts, Geo is perfect and your technique will adapt to the bike. I love them. I've got a little 24" bike thats a pure street machine!!
  10. Its nothing to do with tyre width really. I can track stand my road bike on 21c tyres all day. Its more about the geometry of the bikes. Normally, if the BB is closer to the ground, centre point of weight and balance is far lower. Also your weight has a much smaller pivot to push against, the bike. What this means in real terms is that you are closer to the floor, thus have more stability. Typically, older 26" bikes had a lower bb than 20" bikes. Some people, depending on their height will find 20" bike very unstable because of the longer stems and head angles. The bikes very twitchy. Also as mentioned before, depending on what your background is in biking, you may have a natural preference over what style and find it easier. I've rode 20" and 26", and have settled on 26". I'm 5'11" fairly well built ad have a background in All mountain and Dh racing. Practice, Try easing the weight on the little bike a little further back. If you still have issues, try placing all weight over the front wheel by locking your arms out, press as far forwad against the bars ad you can and bend your knees. Ryan leech uses this technique alot on his bikes. hope that helps!, toby
  11. Rob, i've got my van now. Could take you and chris if you wanted plus 2 more posss. 5 seater VW Transporter wid room for bikes in back. Let me know
  12. Drill the frame till it looks like this: http://www.instablogsimages.com/images/200...ain-bike_48.jpg http://www.bmeres.com/images/c-thru01.jpg Then tubeless convert the tyres and inflate with helium, change chain to belt drive using a strong elastic band (added torque!) Fabricate some kind of holotech crank system from an ISIS bb and welding torch. Run air insted of hydraulic fluid on brakes. Attach as many helium balloons as possible to rider. Ride on moon? Thats as many as i can think of for the time being. Sure i can think of more!
  13. will keep eyes peeled over this way for you mate! toby
  14. i sidehop both ways now, but when i learnt, i sidehopped with my left foot forward and to the left breaking all other peoples opinions. I found i could stil tuck real tight but if i fell short of the height, i could atleast sidehop to crank or pedal as it was already forward. Best thing to do, learn both ways! the best riders car go both ways round, just experiment, doesnt matter about which way, its what feels right at the end of the day! toby

lots of snow!! good couple of inches. toby
  19. removing - either use the tool or screwdriver and rubber/copper mallet. installation, place the cup on a desk or workbench facing up. then place the bike over it, put the block of wood over the frame bottom cup and then hit it with a hammer!! these methods work all the time perfectly!! toby
