  1. shame about the paint job, but its... different. how much is it? is it only 26", i'd like to see a couple of reviews and know the life of it before i even considered buying it. nice find though ASH! edit: oh its a one off vintage frame. not gonna see any of them on here (unless someone from here buys that one) the breaks look weak anyway.
  2. there's not about 200 of them in every town. that post is of absolutley no help at all, i'm guessing, that 9.5 out of 10 people are able to use the search tool on ebay.
  3. i find a masonary grinding disc better for a harsher grind but doesn't lat that long, i have to re-grind every month or so, when its freshly ground, its amazing. the metal cutting disc i used is harder to get a harsher grind but lasts aaaages
  4. About £150 at tarty, and about £30 at chainreactions and over £600 on second hand parts on here
  5. I can't beleive i'm actually reading another one of these polls, you don't even need to use the searh, there is so many of them, theres almost always one on the 1st page of topics. And if you just think for a minuite, why would one be "better" than the other? if you wanna know which people ride, then ask "what size bike do you ride?" not "Which is better?"
  6. if you are wanting to just replace the mission frame you'll need new forks, stem and headset too, and possibly a new rear hub, all these parts are bigger than standard trials parts, you'd probably be better off looking out for a cheap complete mod. what sort of frame are you after? long? short? low? cheap? new?

    Rider Weight

What is the point of this topic? Even if we do work out the prime build, and height of a trials rider, what good is it to us? We can't change how tall we are and the more you ride, the more you develop the muscles needed.
  8. The thing is trials bikes are a but harder to disguise than most BMX's due to the shape and style of them, and if one like yours only in a different colour just turns up in the same town chances are you and your mates are gonna be suspicious. Whenever i see anyone riding trials i go over and talk to them. also how many people just starting out at trials do you know that ride GU's?
  9. The risk is increased when you only wear shoes and shorts too, if you ask me, he deserved that!
  10. don't bother, just clean it whenever its dirty, i just use muck off

    Lighting

I really wouldn't bothere that much, the days are starting to get longer. Also whats wrong with riding in the dark (as long as its not too dark)
  12. if you use the chain whip method, your better off using the longes pole you can otherwise you'll be putting all your weight onto it, and when it does come loose (or skips) you'll end on the floor like radfax said, if you get enough leverage, you should be able to just pull it. a good tip is to try keep the pressure on it and build it up rather than like a sharp jolt (i.e hitting it with a hammer thats the last option) good luck! let us know how it goes.
  13. not from round there, but my only advise is to just keep practising, trust me mate, you'll get the knack of it soon, what have you been trying to do? if you just keep trying the same move over and over again i was riding for almost a month before i could back hop, and almost 2 before i could skip, now i don't have to think about it it just comes naturally, so the more you practise, the easier it'll be, i find it helps if your more chilled out aswell, whenever i start getting pissy my riding just goes down the drain, when things start getting stressy, take a little break and try something else. hope this helps good luck mate
  14. outside the aldi store in trowbridge has a load of decent size rocks to make it look pretty. also theres a few walls all over the place, i think people just get to know the best places for the level of skill the posess, as we get better we perfect the smaller simpler tricks, and then move on the bigger hight, longer faster moves at harder locations.

    Why Spray?

powder coating *** way more scratch resistant which is brilliant in trials but spray painting is by far cheaper. if you've got the time and money i'd go for powder coating. hope this helps
  16. the thing to do would be to slack the chain right off and get a tensioner on there, (one thats not fixed (like the homemade hacksaw blade ones)) then it'll stay the same tension all the time.
  17. how often do you break something when you ride, in the past year i've only broken 2 freewheels, and the tpa on my lever and got a puncture in each wheel, so that averages out at 5 things per year(maybe i'm just lucky), thats less than one thing every 2 months, if there are 20 riders in your town/city and they each break 1 thing evey 2 months, thats still only 10 broken parts each month, which in turn mean 10 sales a month (if they go to the shop and buy the part from there which will be more expensive than online because the costs will have to acocunt for the higher overheads) i know people would also buy new pars to improve their bike, and maybe it would get more people in that town/city to ride trials, but the costs to rent, run, heat, staff, clean, advertise and stock the shop would mean that in order for the shop keeper to make any profit, or even break even, they would have to sell the products at an extremely high price, however running an internet shop is much cheeper, you can store your parts in a wrehouse that doesn't have to be in the town/city centre, and just post them to customers. there is a bicycle shop near me that does sell a small range of trials parts, but his sales would come mostly from bmx, road and mountain bikes the trials market simply isn't big enough.
  18. nice pics, what camera have you got, it seems quick, unless you did the same tricks more than once and took pictures at alightly different times. the riding looks nice, some decent walls there too , where do you ride?
  19. looks really professional. What program(s) did you use? how long did it take? you've got a real skill mate! well done
  20. nice riding, loking forward to the whoe vid. that song is fcuking annoying though!

    Bike Insurance

On my bmx, i got my initials and postcode punched into the buttom of the bb tube, and the bottom of my dropout, it cos about £5 and does the same thing, i also noted down the number already punched into the frame,
  22. i snapped my neck!!! theres been about 10 of these topics before asking the exact same question, and getting the exact same answers it takes about 1 minuite to use the search tool.
  23. bung to fill the seat tube hole on my mission prodidgy, used a bottle lid, some wax, and a sticker
  24. no pictures, but i've made loads of stuff, most of it isn't permanent, but nothing compares to pallets / crates theres no limit to what you can create with them.
