Will A 80mm Bb Shell Be Safe In Echo Team 04?
Luke Drewery replied to Joe_Elding's topic in Trials Chat
This one?; Gigapipe I use that bb on my t-rex with a 22t chainring. A tad heavy but very strong. -
Nice video, some really nice riding as you would expect from Lee Shiming! The bike looked nice too, judging by how easy he threw it around it looked nice and light.
-
The Paul Melvin one looks interesting with the two jockey wheels, not sure if it would be up to much abuse though. I like the Rohloff one personally, but as with anything good it costs a lot of money. I would go for it though because somebody you know has already used and abused it and it came up trumps, so you know its worth your money.

Large tap at the beginning, bit repetetive though.

Seen this before, it was posted on OTN. Mint video, some huge riding, he is a spring on wheels!

Nice video, the quality was good. The riding was good too, I saw most of that first hand and it was virtually all pulled off smoothly. I saw myself looking like a goon in the background on that first rail gap though lol. Nice video, worth the download.

I got an mp3 player (not an ipod, theyre shit ), a USB memory stick (which I asked for because of loads of coursework etc), some grips, a multitool, a remington triple-bladed electric shaver, a puncture repair kit, loads of chocolate and about £150 which means I now have £350 which is being spent at tartybikes on a Czar Ivan long frame in silver, a 2006 hi-fi stem (low rise) and an el-cheapo headset ( cant afford a fancy one). There are other things too, but i have forgotten. I had a gorgeous christmas dinner too. Overall a good Christmas.

Cool video James, some good riding. Your 2006 python rides better than your old one, its the high bb that makes the difference. Its the frame I would probably have if I rode mod. You have your tyres too flat though (for me anyway, might just be my 12 stone though). The quality spoilt it a little though but the song wasnt bad. Keep it up.

Cool video, was a mint ride. The quality let it down though. Everything looks much harder in real life!

Cleethorpes Ride 22nd - 23rd December
Luke Drewery replied to James Hart's topic in Member Organised Rides
Yeh was a mint ride, glad I went now. I wish I took my camera though, could have got some good footage but oh well. -
Skips like a bitch for me, both music and visual, its unwatchable. Any ideas? I have tried media player and Divx player, both are the same.

Looks harsh, makes me worry a little because I have hd my KMC Kool for a long while now, and it hasnt snapped once yet (touch wood).
-
I agree, get a fairly short stem (most will suffice) and some easton ea50 bars, it will ride nice. Hope stems are pimp though, so if you got the cash go for one of those. I wouldnt recommend azonic doublewalls as although they have a gorgeous shape they are renowned for snappage, not worth it in my opinion.

I agree, everyone is trying to be different so they have all become the same type of thing. Just go with whatever tickles your fancy.

I suffer from aching as anybody riding trials would expect, but luckily never arm pump or cramp. I would recommend stretching, it keeps you more limber and prevents injury and pain when done properly. If you do stretch, your legs and lower back are probably the best areas to focus on as they take a lot of the stress from trials.

I have seen this frame at my local bike shop as well as it being ridden at the London cycle show by Matt staples and I like it. The geometry isnt bad and its pretty cheap too. It would make a great beginners bike as well as a great bike for more experienced riders too. I wouldnt recommend buying it fully built though, the parts sepc that it comes with is crap (some parts are OK, but the majority WILL break within a few months/weeks).

Yeh this frame was posted a long time ago. It looks horrible if you ask me, those chainstays are ugly! Nice to see that Onza are trying out different ideas, but that one would'nt sell I dont think hence why it isnt in production. Onza used to be budget trials company with little respect but now they are a large renowned company with some world champions under their belt and some nice bikes/frames in their line-up. The best example of these are Danny Butler and the Onza limey frame. It has taken many frames like this one to realise what works though, they have really tried and I respect that. Rather than blatantly copy they have started to have a go themselves.

Im 15 and I have been riding for just over three years, my stats are; Static gap-7ft 6 Pedal gap-9ft Backwheel-bit over bar height (no front touch) so about 44" Front touch-46" Sidehop-40" over rope, 42" up a wall. Drop-only about 7ft, drops are pointless. Oh and stats arent everything in trials, so dont get hung up and annoyed if you are'nt getting as high as someone else or anything like that, just go out and ride and have fun.

Considering you are riding mod I would recommend a profile, they offer solid, reliable engagement, come in some nice colours and arent all that expensive either. Chris kings are nice, but they do require a little more maintenance. Its not hard maintaining them, just a little clean up and lube every month or so (depending on where/how you ride). I run a chris king on my stock and its mint, my gaps improved because of the engagement and it looks and feels just right for me. It has skipped a few times minorly, once because I put too much oil in it, so that was my error, not the hubs. So yeah; Stock-Chris king Mod-Profile

I often end up using some crap like panaracer in the summer, because thats all my local bike shop stocks and I can just roll in and pick one up cheap. They do their job OK in the dry, only downside is puncture protection. In the winter I use maxxis on the back now always, the super tacky compound is my favourite, good grip with OK wear life. On the front I have become accustomed to the try-all tyres, they look good, grip good and have good puncture protection. I would recommend them to anyone.

Mine wont play in media player 10, Divx player (latest one) or quicktime...

Big turkey dinner, cooked then shared by most of my family. We have the usual stuffing, veggy's, apple sauce etc etc. Its very nice.
