  1. Here is some footage I filmed today at a spot close to where I live. Nothing amazing, just me having fun practicing so dont expect much. I didnt want to use this in my next video as its the same locations, just different moves. So instead I edited it together into a small video, no music, just bike sounds to make use of it. Anyway; Tv.isg Filename is 'Messin' around'.
  2. OK video, but I thought it got boring after five minutes. They just repeated themsleves, they could have made it shorter. Good riding for seven months though, although it was all a little sketchy looking.
  3. oh my god! A front flip on a trials bike, that guy is sick. That backwheel up the bin then to front wheel and 180 off looked awesome too.
  4. I meant you arent as good as someone who has been riding for one year, as they could do bigger/better moves than you. You claimed you were as good as someone who has been riding for five years which is how long people like Matt Staples etc have been riding for, and they are really really good.
  5. I bought the Zoo pads when they were first released from Bikedock, and they lasted me a good couple of months. I ran them on a smooth rim, using minimal tar (only applying it when I really had to) then I ground my rim and they went really loud and grippy. They did wear considerably quicker on a ground rim though, as JT said above. But wear rate is often sacrificed for bite, pads like the koxx browns last forever but you need a really harsh grind for them to work well.
  6. Minimalistic sounds good, have a look at Andy t's website HERE, that is one nice site. Oh and we know you said five months, read the posts properly.
  7. After five years, more like three times that length nearly. Look, it doesnt matter if your not a pro when you have only been riding for 5 months! It takes years to get GOOD so dont think your better than you need to be.
  8. Nice video, I liked it. Nice mixture of riders and some good moves.
  9. I didnt know you didnt have a front brake, they always help.
  10. Thats really good for three days, but try and learn other moves too at the same time, so you become a more diverse rider.
  11. Hmm, I highly doubt that. Judging by your pictures your much worse than people who have been riding 1 year, let alone 5. On a positive note, the sites not bad, just too many pixelly pictures. Try and get some videos on there as well, that helps its popularity.
  12. Looks like hes charging way too much, he could start his bid lower too. It looks crap because of the lack of a colour scheme and the parts will be worn/scratched.
  13. Go for a BMF, basically the same rim. Light, bombroof and hold grinds well. I have one laced up to a king and its mint. Beats the current echo/koxx offerings which I have tried, and didnt like. Im pretty sure you can get them direct from the planet x website.
  14. Bit of a pointless topic, what do you want us to say? Oh well, Ill say something. My experience of hope hubs is bad, thats why I run a king. However, hopes are good for some people, and offer good value for money if your lucky enough for the pawls/springs/ratchet to not wear out every few months. The rim sounds good though, they are nown for their strength.
  15. The rider on the megamo is Bruno Arnold, the rider on the silver bike (not sure what it is) is Giacomo Coustellier.
  16. Shit pictures, good moves. Try and take pictures of other things besides sidehops and gaops though.
  17. My experience of chavs is mixed. The majority have been complete pricks, they shout abuse at us when riding past and threaen to steal our bikes, the usual. I had my old mountain bike stolen by a gang of them whilst riding through town on it when I was about 11 years old. Way back when I was really small two of them tried to steal my go-kart (pedal one) and I kept pulling and eventually a woman came and helped me. However, on some rare occasions they compliment me on my riding skills and come across as friendly, but thats rare. I know a few chavs who are OK, so I dont really know what to make of them.
  18. I agree tartybikes offer good service. I have just realised that the KMC K810, the one I have, is £18 now, it was £12 when I bought one from there! They are very good chains, better than any other I have tried. I have had mine on three different bikes and two different chainrings/sprockets. I have also shortened and lengthened it to fit said bikes, yet it hasnt snapped on me once yet, in the space of a year or more (touchwood).
  19. Awesome video, I cant believe how good they were even then. Those ups to front wheel and taps were huge even by todays standards, and they were on short bikes. Just proves a good bike can only offer so much progress, its really down to the rider.
  20. Cheers Billy, I intend to do some filming at Cleethorpes in the half-term holidays. Glad you liked it. Next time I wont use such a slow song, then it wont be as depressing/relaxing lol.
  21. Thats very helpful, thanks. I was a little disappointed when I noticed my head wouldnt fit in the shot. I couldnt avoid it however as my camera is set so that its zoomed all the way out yet its still doesnt get as much in the shot as my old camera did, and in some areas I cant get any further back without going up/sideways. Glad you all like the riding though, even though I feel these werent the best locations to film, just the ones I could get to. My only experience of editing/filming before this video has been the past month (give or take a few days) as thats the period when I made my first video.so Im still new to it. That why I ask for comments, so I know whats good/whats crap. The comments so far have been excellent, cheers to everyone. More are welcome.
  22. Cheers guys, comments much appreciated. I shall try and get to some different places and maybe get someone to film me next time. I shall also try and include all of what I can do, to make it more varied ie sidehops, ups to front wheel, gaps to front wheel etc etc. Keep the comments coming.
  23. I tried to make the video chilled out, but if it came across as depressing, fair enough. All of this video was filmed myself, as there are very few riders in the local area. Thats why the angles may not be perfect, as I lined it up on the tripod and it looked right then when I actually did the move it didnt look so good. With this camera (unlike my old one) you have to be really far back even with it zoomed all the way out, and in some areas there is no room to get any further back due to walls or hills etc. Keep the comments coming.
  24. Yeah the spots in Scunthorpe become very limiting, plus it was only a few hours worth of filming while the weather was nice. The spots are all like a mile apart, its so annoying. Thanks for all the comments guys! Keep them coming.
  25. Hey guys, this is my second video, all the footage is from this weekend. It was all filmed by me with a tripod and my new camera, quality is 10x better than my last video. All filmed in my local area, street and some natural. Song is Blur-Coffee and TV 3.28 long, wmv format. Filename is "Luke Drewery Video Two" Tv.isg.si Tell me what you think.
