  1. I ride trials because it is fun, that is above all the other reasons. It keeps me fit by building up my strength and burning fat, the usual good things that come from sport. I have met loads of people from riding, both in my home town and in other areas too. It has built my confidence, and gives me something to do. I also enjoy fixing things, so bike repairs naturally appeal to me. I have learnt so much from riding trials, about mentality, fitness, making friends, fixing bikes, the list goes on. I also get a good feeling from looking back at when I first started and realising how much I have improved, and new goals pop up all the time. When I accomplish one, I notice another line I want to pull. I can prove to myself that I can do things and feel good when I do them. Overall, it has become a doorway to many things that I didint know about before I rode.
  2. I too thought that, but after putting a couple of threads here and there about trials shoes I was convinced to get some. I have now had my try-all size 13's for about 3 months now and they are awesome. I use them near enough every day and they still look new. The soles have no marks on them yet, neither does the fabric of the shoe. They grip better then trainers, they are narrower so they dont catch on the crank arm and they are thinner around the front and sides as well as the sole so that you can feel the pedal so much better. The padding around the ankle and the whole stiffness of the shoe inspires confidence too. I always used skate shoes before I bought these, ranging from top end Vans to No Fear cheapies. After getting a pair, Im hooked. I know they are expensive, but hey they work better then trainers because after all, they were made specifically for trials riding.
  3. Nice pictures, some big sidehops and backwheels in there.
  4. Try the screwdriver, if that doesnt work try mole grips or a pair of stiltons or something. If you still have no luck, try a 3mm drill hole and an easy-out, that should work depending on how tight it is.
  5. Trials has seriously changed since you quit 5 years ago. There are new bikes, more riders, a much higher standard and more trials shops dotted around. Everyone is riding either 24" or long low and silver bikes with high bb's. People are also focusing more on power moves, such as huge drop gaps, sidehops and taps. The 24" riders are seriously ripping it up with techy moves and people are sidehopping, tapping and hooking up stupidly high walls UCI stylee. Back then trials was all about creativity and style, now its a bit of both plus going big at the same time. Welcome back to trials.
  6. Mint video, some huge sidehops in there, I noticed you did that series of bench gaps about five times though lol. Chai and the guy on the monty were impressive. Overall good riding and good editing.
  7. Cool little video, some awesome riding from everyone, good music too.
  8. Awesome pics, good riding and good location.
  9. Yep, all the trialskings videos are all there, I even found some I didnt know existed, and I used to visit the trialskings website near enough daily! The French are the best at UCI, us British are split between UCI and BIU, as are Spain. I think the 'cocksure' attitude of many British people has influenced the way we ride trials or play any other sports, we egg each other on.

    Pedals

The stock pedals are crap on the t-birds, my friends fell to bits. I would recommend the DMR V8's. I have had two pairs, both for over a year and they are incredible value for money. The bearings last ages (I never grease mine either) and they are solid, look good and are fairly light. As mentioned above, you could spend the little extra and go for the V12's, but the only advantage is they weigh less.
  11. Saw this on OTN just before you posted, amazing video once again. I only got Aorta video 1 a couple of days ago, then two appeared! Both awesome videos, the riding is great, the quality is great, the editing is impressive and the songs give them a chilled feel. I have always liked the Chinese videos.
  12. Looks like a beasty street bike! Is that the zebdi or jackflash? I have ridden both back in the day (well, only a year and a half ago) and they both feel so flicky and nice for manuals. Hows the rear eno holding up?
  13. Nice site Billy, and top class video. I bet your new hope disc is a lot better than that old magura one eh?
  14. Nice video, some smooth riding. It had a chilled feel to it, mainly because of the song.
  15. Holy crap, that one where the guy runs in front of that massive train, he went flying! Stupid people, trying to take on a train.
  16. Its just practice, try learning on something a little higher. It may look scarier, but it could help your technique. On higher objects your bike is steeper when the front wheel is on top, so when you hop your already set up to land steep enough on the back wheel to keep the bike up. Try and throw your weight straight up than forward at the last minute, as you can then get the height and the motion means that the bars and front end of your bike are kept above the back. It sounds to me like your trying it on objects slightly too small to grasp the technique. It sounds weird, but I actually find it harder on smaller objects, because my bike isnt very steep and so you have to pull up the front end as well as lift the whole bike at the same time. This close up clip might help, my bike is quite steep in the clip so you might understand better what I mean; Wheelswap Hope that helps.
  17. Nice little video, some decent moves in there. Im surprised there was no slippage in there though.
  18. My new bike, hope you like. Hope you like.
  19. 30 front 25 back Good for everything then.
  20. I like it, apart from the bar and stem, they look way too low for me.
  21. No that was wrong, they then traced the IP to Valencia, Spain and Benito did indeed go online when he said he would last night, it was a worthwhile thing in my opinion. I managed to ask him a few questions which he answered, so Im happy.
  22. All of those parts on your first post sound OK, I would go for an echo rim on the back though, whether its the new 2006 drilled one or the old machined ones. As for the stem, I run a zoo stem on mine and have done since I bought it, I use them with the zoo bars and they feel very nice. The closest thing I can think to a zoo stem (they dont seem to be around anymore, only for mod) is the toxsin stem, or the echo control stem.
  23. Lol thats it over already, I managed to ask him a few questions though at least. I asked him what his job was if he had one besides trials, he said koxx doesnt pay him to ride (they give him bikes though), but he is the koxx importer for Spain. Hmmm, I was pretty sure there was no money involved in just riding trials.

    Snow Riding

Nice little video, some decent sidehops. Looked like fun. I didnt ride in the snow, went sledging instead. That bail was inevitable though.
  25. Awesome pictures, looks like some good riding went down by all. Im liking the christmas hats too, bit of festivity lol. Looked like a huge turnout too!
